LOVELY and well maintained garden! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. We were fortunate to visit when they had the mosaic sculptures featured throughout too, which was an added bonus. I loved seeing the sculpture that will be at Burning Man this year. The garden is on the smaller size for a botanical garden (some stuff was under maintenance while we were there) but the gardens were impeccable. My favorite part was all the dahlias. Stunning! Your entry ticket ($12 for adults) also includes admission to the library, which had a bonsai area and some fun history. We were able to easily find free parking nearby. They're open in limited capacity so it's not going to take longer than an hour to tour the grounds. Parking was $6.50 Not sure when construction finishes but it shouldnt take long because we spoke to someone there who said the city will want to expedite construction to open the restaurant. Beautiful still. We came the day before Mother's Day for the rose show. Looking forward to coming back when construction completes because at $5 admission that is kind of a rip for how much is there. Thankfully admission was only $5, and we spent about 30 minutes walking through the gardens and completing a free activity. We picked up a scavenger sheet at the entrance and it was relatively easy to complete. Upon finishing, we received free seeds to plant at home. Unfortunately, the library was under renovation during our visit, so we could only peek through the dusty windows. The central and succulent gardens were my favorite. The sculptures were nicely decorated, and the plants appeared well maintained. The bodies of water and fountains throughout the gardens were sparkling clear and blue. The fern grotto was a bit overgrown but luxuriously green. There was a single display containing a frog, so I wished more wildlife was featured. The garden shop did not have much merchandise, mostly standard Los Angeles and plant-themed items. I would have liked to see more unique or specialized items to purchase. Overall, it was not a bad stop, but I would not drive out of my way to visit. People seem to love the restaurant there, but most of the notable plants were located further out. read more

Visited for the first time on Valentine's Day and it was such an earthy day! Found free parking outside of the Sherman Library & Garden entrance, which was super convenient. I would love to come here again with a book just to enjoy the fresh air and feel sun rays on my skin. We got to participate in special holiday programming, which included arts and crafts, scavenger hunt (counting hearts throughout the venue), and all the flowers you could possibly admire. All the staff were so kind and welcoming to 30+ year olds who also wanted to join in on the crafting, hehe. The library portion of the venue was still under construction this time around, but as a bookish girly, I have no choice but to return for its reopening to satisfy my curiosity. It makes me wonder what kind of books they have. Are they all nature-related books or will we be blessed with the Heated Rivalry series?! I'll keep y'all posted. read more

$5 is money well spent to decompress and let your stress melt away while strolling through beautiful gardens. I've been coming here since the 90's always pairing lunch at their restaurant followed by a walk through the gardens. Unfortunately there's zero point of coming here now. Most of the already tiny gardens are blocked off for renovation and the restaurant didn't renew their lease. I look forward to returning once all their renovations are over in 2027. FYI. However, be aware that now WAY MORE THAN HALF of the property is closed and under construction, YET they raised the admission from $5 to $12, which makes no sense. Sherman gardens is a beautiful hidden gem in Corona Del Mar. Sherman gardens offers a nice little getaway with beautiful grounds. We bought tickets for the gardens for $5. We arrived at 10am but they were not open until 10:30. At 10:30 we were allowed to explore the courtyard, garden, and gift shop. The library was closed at the time we visited. I will also mention they are undergoing a large renovation so not everything was open. Parking was available in the parking lot, as well as street parking. When parking on the street just be sure to read the signs as some days have street sweeping. In addition, Sherman gardens offers a venue for weddings and special events. -1 star for construction (not posted on their website) read more

Loved everything about this place - it was nice to take my son for a stroller walk as he loves flowers. And great place for my elderly parents to get some steps in while admiring the surroundings. We especially liked the koi pond and the orchids in the greenhouse. Not to mention the herb garden where my son can smell all the lovely smells. This is a cute garden in Corona Del Mar with very friendly staff. I won't forget the ticket lady - she sang us a birthday song! The next time I visit, I will be sure to go on the docent tour. The entrance fee is $5 which is very reasonable compared to other places. There was a fun little scavenger hunt with a prize in the end for those that have a little home garden of their own. The place is not very big but they make the most of what they have. There is an area with desert plants and a greenhouse with tropical plants and a nice koi pond. The flowers are lovely and there are various fountains throughout the gardens. I enjoyed the area with bonsai trees as they were nicely maintained. If you have time, stay for lunch. Came back here after 4 long years & was so excited to take my hubby there. But I wasn't happy, didn't like the new decor at all . Last time everything was so cool & unique . My hubby said he still liked it a lot ! Only thing we did is ended up taking millions of pictures like every other person visiting there ! My cousin took us there so we took the chance & did a couple shoot. After our wedding shoot this is probably the most pictures we took in a day lol ! We had fun doing that ! One thing I gotta mention is that when we try to pay they didn't take money from us. Because of my husband military status & we being the family . I feel so special & respected! We stopped by Sherman Library and Gardens for a quick visit and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The gardens are beautifully maintained with some truly gorgeous flowers...perfect for a relaxing stroll. They have a charming little restaurant on-site that looked like a great spot to enjoy a meal, but unfortunately, it was closed during our visit. Although we didn't stay long, we appreciated the quiet ambiance and the bistro tables scattered throughout where you can sit, chat, and soak in the scenery. Plant lovers will be in awe visiting this local gem. This garden showcases a variety of palms, succulents, orchids, household plants and more. I personally love the Tropical Conservatory, which feels like something out of Jurassic Park. There's also a Garden Shop onsite that sells plants and plant related knickknacks. I ended up purchasing a carnivorous plant during my most recent trip to the gardens - Nepenthese Alata AKA pitcher plant. The cups of this plant attract and eat insects, turning them into fertilizer. It's truly a baddie of a plant. They often have events or special exhibits planned. Excited to return for the bonsai showcase this May/June. My sister brought myself and my other sister here for her birthday is to look around before we went to eat. The price of admission was five dollars. It is so pretty to walk around and have fun learning about plans and its names. It is under construction at the moment and we were informed that it won't be ready until the end of 2027 so the walk was extremely small. I've read to get tickets online, but I didn't during a busy weekend and was still able to walk-in and pay in the front. Come early because it does get crowded towards later during noon time. This helps with parking too, there was plenty of parking in the morning but by afternoon it was packed, including street parking. Make sure to reserve for the restaurant inside this garden (608 Dahlia) since it does book out fast. It's s small place, but good enough to walk around for an hour or so to look at beautiful flowers, plants, turtles, koi fishes, and birds. They also accept service dogs! read more

I enjoyed my day at Sherman Gardens today. Even though half of the garden was under construction and the library was closed, it was well worth the $5 admission. The scavenger hunt encouraged visitors to look carefully at everything the garden has to offer. The succulent garden had so many varieties I had never seen before, beautifully arranged to show off each plant. The garden has lots of benches, many of them in the shade, so my mother could rest and cool off. The buildings also had many charming mission-style architectural features. The staff gave us seed packets upon finishing the scavenger hunt. They were friendly and helpful, and clearly happy to be there. It was nice to find this place near my mom's house, and the perfect place to spend the morning before going to lunch. I can't wait to see the garden once the construction is complete! read more

Beautiful gardens area! They even had a scavenger hunt that I did with my 6 year old while on vacation. It was a fun learning experience. I love gardens and this was a place I always wanted to check out. There is a free tour every Wednesday and Saturday. Check the times online. $5 admission to the gardens. They have different sections from succulent garden to the greenhouse plants. It is not that big and you can quickly finish in an hour. We also visited the Sherman library which are opened at specific times. It was interesting how they have a whole compilation of old white pages. It was fun to get to see my parent's past through the white pages. They also have a nice quaint restaurant there opened on certain days of the week. They are popular for their savory biscuits. We had enjoyed the biscuits with tea:coffee. It is recommended to make reservations if you want to visit the restaurant. read more

If you come right around opening, they do have a designated parking lot RIGHT as you turn in on your right ( metal gate with gravel), a street cross across the entrance. Otherwise theres a METERED parking lot behind it and street parking. But not to fret, the garden is rather small with a portion shared with the restaraunt on grounds too. So I think people go in and out fast. The staff is nice and they have ask a master gardener sessions. Tickets are $5 and lots of people come in to take pictures, but again relatively small space with lots of california nature. They also advertise to come in winter for the camellias! Honestly I think they'd do well hosting little garden parties w/ tea or making charm bracelets. read more

The garden is nestled in a neighborhood. I would have missed it without gps. They have a small parking lot but I didn't have any issues finding parking. Tickets are $5 but if you have a garden membership (such as the LA arboretum) admission is free. It's a fairly small garden but it's a nice walk with different scenes. I love the entrance pool surrounded by flowers. So pretty. They also have shows at times - during my visit was a begonia plant show. If you like gardens or taking pictures I think it's worth a visit. This place is absolutely beautiful! It's not too big or overwhelming like some other gardens I've been to, but still has a vast array of different plants. I went during their hibiscus festival this past weekend and it was so amazing seeing all the various colors that have been produced. In addition, we were able to do a scavenger hunt for various plants around the property which was fun! After we completed the scavenger card the woman gave us seeds to plant. I'm glad she gave seeds to plant flowers for monarch butterflies because their numbers are dropping. I couldn't skip out visiting this garden during Christmas time! Past the fountain, there was a Christmas tree made up of succulents and plants! Even the wreaths, at the gate doors, were succulents! Such a novel idea! It's very serene to walk around this garden, Although it's under renovation, we were able to view a lot of variety. First off, make sure you get tickets online because they sell out and you won't be able to get tickets at the place. Parking is horrible so be prepared to spend time just looking for a spot. The place was cool to see if it's your first time but for the price I thought it was very pricey. I wouldn't recommend going unless you want something super simple and not very big to walk around and see the lights and different areas that offer photo opps or simple activities. A magnificent garden tug away on a busy street. We visited there on a Wednesday morning around 10 am. The parking lot is right next to the entrance. Many spaces were available at that time. Parking is free at least during week days. Entrance to the garden is free for members and $5.00 for non members. The garden has a large and interesting collection of plants. Though it's late summer, there were still lots of flowers around. We were informed that many of the plants will be changed according to season. Of particular interests to me are the Koi pond, the green house with its collection of tropical plant, bonsai potting, and herb garden. The varieties of mint are impressive. It includes the bernest cream, strawberry, pineapple, orange, chocolate and spearmint. The fruit tree section includes banana, mango, guava and apple. The garden also provides a guided tour for free if interested. A scavenger hunt is available if you are up to it. You received a package of wildflower seed upon completion of the hunt. One regret is that the library is closed for renovation. May be next time! read more

I've been here three times and it's a little different each time. On this visit, the Plumeria Society of Orange County and the Hibiscus Society were on site. I loved the varieties of both flowers and even bought a pink parfait tuberose. It's a fabulous garden and a bargain at $5. We also enjoyed dining at 608 Dahlia to celebrate a birthday. read more
