She tracked down Greenworld because they sell their cuttings at much cheaper prices than you'd find at a florist. On Saturday morning, four of us hopped in a car stocked with Isles puppy dog tails and coffee and shlepped ourselves to North Branch to check it out and pick out which cuttings she wanted for the arrangements. You have to make an appointment during their off-season---they are not open to the public otherwise. I've NEVER seen so many succulents in one place. Mainly, the greenhouse is full of hundreds of kinds that I had never seen ever. Strange rose-mimicking plants, bright orange and purple colors, furry friends, snowball cacti... and a new kind of aloe plant that looks like a cylon basestar (nerd alert). For example, did you know that you are supposed to clip succulents fairly often and then replant the clippings. Otherwise some of them just get tall and sad. He was nice enough to make cuttings for a wedding inspiration board, so to speak. We messed around with combinations of different plants for a while and then let him know what the plan was. After that, I roamed the aisles again and picked our some new additions to my own succulent family (I've covered my whole bay windowsill with them). I picked our four good size plants that were only $5 each and not things you'd typically see in a store. Normally, they do accept credit cards, but it's cash or check during the off-season. The cylon plant has shown no signs of attacking the other plants, but there are many copies... and they have a plan.

They're one of the stores that carry this variety as it is a new species pansy that launched last year. It's quite a drive from the Twin Cit, but it is well worth it because they are decent size green house inspite that I went early in the year. I'm sure if you go during the regular open seasons, they will be full of different variety of plants. Very clean store and well organize. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. Their prices are pretty decent, especially when it comes to those Japanese pansy that other place charged double. I would definitely recommend this place beside that 1 Hour drive up to Isanti.

If you're looking for a nursery with a huge variety of beautiful plants -- this is it. 1) They also have interesting, unusual, and rare varieties. 2) The plants are well cared for and beautiful. 3) The prices are all reasonable. 4) Veteran owned! Support a local business and a vet. I counted at least 8 greenhouses. Not all of them are open to the public. It depends on when you get there during the season and what's going on. They also have a gigantic quantity and variety of mulch. My only gripe is the payment procedure. The payment area is not clear. It's inside the 2nd, south side (or left side) greenhouse. When it's busy, it's confusing. There's no clear area for waiting & forming a line, and the workers seemed a little overwhelmed. I only ever go here when im in a crunch. because the prices are so much higher than anyone else. I recently bought fill dirt from here for $25 a yard. ($3.50 at Peterson) I know fill dirt isn't the best dirt and I wasn't expecting good dirt. But what I got was nothing short of garbage. there was old fabric, lots of big roots, chunks of sod, and mulch! And not a small amount of it either, at least 50% of what I got was one of these things. Bottom line, save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else.

They had absolutely beautiful plants/trees and it was very well kept, however, there were two…read morethings that bothered me about my experience with them. 1) my husband, kids, and I came together and after we were done spending $1,400 on trees there, one of the landscaping guys accused my children of stealing 4 tree watering stakes out of the trees. I admit my son found one and picked it up, but I was watching them very closely the whole time and they most certainly did not steal 4 stakes. It was really the rude tone the worker took with me that bothered me more than anything. On the other hand, there WAS one young girl that was extremely helpful with picking out trees with us. 2) They told us our trees would be delivered in 3-5 business days and it took over 3 weeks to get them. I was about ready to call my credit card company and cancel on the purchase. Again, the trees are beautiful, it would've just been nice to not leave with a bad taste in my mouth and get them in the promised timeframe.

We have no idea about trees but the owner offered us some great advice and showed us what he had that would work for what we needed. He offered to dig up some trees for us to be ready in two days or to special order what he thought would be good for us which was so thoughtful. He did end up pointing us somewhere that had exactly what we needed (which was pretty specific) but I'd love to come back and support this adorable small business
