Melanie is magic…read more I have had long standing issues on my right side that have resulted in pain, loss of strength, and a change in the shape, size, and angle of my right calf. It hindered my ability to stay in shape which led to a downward spiral in energy and strength. I went to an orthopod and traditional PT - neither solved anything. I found that the experienced PT / owners at the big PT shops would spend 5 minutes with you and then robotically come up with a therapy set and then hand off to a Junior PT to execute each week, without really understanding the underlying issue. It seems a set up for repeat visits and dollars vs solutions. Melanie is highly trained, knowledgeable, creative, and compassionate. She actually hears what you have to say and partners with you to rebuild. She provided a solve for every issue I threw at her. I saw immediate in-session improvement in the weakness area, which told me she heard me and understood the underlying issue. In two months I've made more progress with her guidance and recommended exercises than in 5 years, after just 4 visits. I'm working out regularly and healthier than I've been in a while. I cannot say enough good things about Melanie's approach. Go to Melanie if you want to get solutions and move on with your life. Go to traditional PT shops if you want to hang out with PT people every week forever. She doesn't accept insurance. But she does superbill. In my opinion it's well worth it.

From office contacts to the therapists they provided, the organization reflected professionalism and care. Therapists Britney Baker OT and Jamil Kassam PT, were excellent! Their knowledge of exercise's, activities, and specific body movements have brought me to walking that I have not enjoyed for several years. Both Britany and Jamil were kind yet firm getting me to move correctly. They were always professional in their appearance and demeanor. Still more work to do, but they have left me with exercises that will continue my development. I still hear their repeated encouragement to walk!!! For my three week home physical therapy NOI prescribed Mobile Therapy Specialists (MTS). I highly, highly recommended them. My physical therapist is Mark Singh, and he is wonderful and very professional. When he comes to my house, he has a massage table on which he performs my physical therapy. When he arrives, the first thing he does is check my blood pressure and temperature to make sure that I'm healthy enough to actually get my physical therapy. Then he massages my knee and starts to bend it for me. He is gentle and strong and by day three of his therapy I had my knee bending at 85°. Now I am doing exercises on my own as well to continue the bend and make my leg stronger. I can't tell you how thrilled I am with his work on my knee and MTS. From the very first session, she took the time to really understand my pain, explain what was going on, and lay out a clear, realistic recovery plan. Every exercise and treatment felt purposeful, and she was great about adjusting things based on how my foot responded week to week. What stood out most was her attention to detail and encouragement. She pushed me when I needed it, but also made sure I wasn't overdoing it. I never felt rushed during appointments, and she always answered my (many) questions with patience and clarity. Over time, I noticed real progress--not just less pain, but better strength and mobility than I expected. My therapist Mariah was so great. She made me feel comfortable and worked on my neck injury with a pinched nerve. In about 2 months I was good to go but so sad to leave her. She is a real gem and I will always go to SoCal Elite (Mariah) for all my future injuries. ‍

Then, I found Rheena, at Well Balanced Body, and I'm so grateful. I had pain on my whole right side, starting from my lower back, behind my knee, through by calf to my ankle. After some intense tight neck pain on my trap area, I went to a doctor who referred me to a go to a…read morephysical therapist. I choose Ann Steinfeld's place since it was pretty close to my place and had good reviews. My therapist was Julie, and I went through a 4 month program where she started me off with just a handful of exercise but usually every week she would add more exercises and reps until the last month where all I did was maybe raise the weights for a few. These exercises were focused on my week upper body strength to support my neck area. There were also some general stretches on and around the neck area. I started off seeing Julie 3 times a week, 1-ish hour sessions. In addition to the teaching the exercises, Julie did some light neck massages, as well as using electric stim machine to reduce the muscle tightness. After a month or 2 I started going twice a week, then on the last month I started only going once a week. On my last day, I was given a pretty nice Certificate of Graduation from Physical Therapy in addition to a cool bag. Now, I'll just say my pain has NOT fully gone away. Neck pain is something I've had for a while and these were the first steps to manage and reduce it. I went in physical therapy not knowing if the pain would every go down. I definitely noticed an improvement after the 4 months. I feel like even if the pain does flares back up I have a system to reduce the pain. It seems like the idea at this place (haven't been to other physical therapy before) is Physical Therapy is a guide for you to start a program to do better healthy choices for pain like mine or someone who suffered from an injury. I'd say this program definitely did its job starting me off on my future journey. The whole staff I worked with were nice, professional, and were willing to have fun casual conversations. Julie, my main PT, was great and helpful. The front desk lady was always helpful in scheduling appointments, whether in person or if I e-mailed. The physical therapy clinic also had a few assistants who help you with your exercises to make sure you're still doing proper form. They were also both professional and also fun to interact with about casual conversations like the latest movies. Overall I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. If you have insurance and this physical therapy clinic is relatively close to you, I highly recommend checking it out if you get recommended or referred to get physical therapy.

As a Tahitian dancer, I've had knee issues (and low back pain) on and off for YEARS. Finally, the…read morepain became so constant, that I had to go see someone. I heard about her through a good friend of mine who is also a Tahitian dancer. She diagnosed me with long term tendinitis and knee strain. Not only did she do muscle release, scraping, and chiropractic adjustments, she also did physical therapy. She gave me specific stretches and exercises to do at home. Turns out Dr Camille is also a Tahitian dancer and understands the challenging mechanics that go into it. After a few months of seeing her, my knees rarely hurt! Just a mild soreness after practice which is to be expected. My performance has enhanced too! My faarapu (fast hip circles) is much smoother than it used to be. It used to be very "jerky." My tifene (duck walk) is stronger and less daunting...I no longer die on the dance floor! She's also just a wonderful doctor who really cares about her patients. She really listens and hears you. She is extremely thorough in her assessments. When she says "consistency is key," it's true! You gotta do the homework and do the follow ups to feel better. Honestly, my dancing has changed so much for the better that I fell in love with it all over again. Thanks Doc!!!!
