    Owner and therapist Smita Mistry
    Elizabeth F.

I have learned and grown so much from the hand and OT therapy. I have received here, top-notch, care, and consideration after a broken wrist and painful back after a fall. I am so grateful for the continued improvement in function in my hand and wrist and nerves.

    Kori T.

I'm so thankful for Smita! I had a bad car accident that crushed my Hand and had emergency surgery which left two fingers broken and pinky amputated. Surgeon said I need to find a hand specialist fast to keep movement and nerves from dying. After not being called back from Kaiser for two days I was already days behind finding a PT so I searched google and Yelp and she seemed like she knew exactly what the surgeon was telling me I needed without even explaining what he wanted in a PT. 3 weeks after a crushed hand I'm already going back to work as a hairstylist! She's so caring, so professional and definitely knows what she's doing. Pricing is extremely reasonable and I feel well taken care of! I'm shocked with how fast I'm progressing. I would recommend her to anyone who's rehabbing wrists and hands. Especially when you need physical care I feel like it's so important to have someone who you can tell truly wants to get you better. (I even tried Kaiser a few more times for insurance purposes and still decided to comeback and pay out of pocket instead) I get more care from her than I would from them. And that's SO worth any extra cash when you work with your hands. These are my money makers so they have to be treated right!

When I came to Selective Rehab, I was not able to use my fingers well and had lost the ability to do basic things like cutting vegetables and writing painlessly. Smita and her staff took such good care of me. They are flexible in scheduling appointments, v clean facility, and thorough. Smita immediately focussed on reducing inflammation, designed splints to support the hand, started me on strengthening exercises and showed me what therapy I can do when not in clinic. Now I am able to do everything! Smita Mistry is one of the best therapists I know. It is not just her 25+ years experience in this field but also her warm, caring, positive outlook that gives that extra healing touch. She is an A+ in her professional knowledge and an exceptional, caring human being who genuinely cares for her patients. What she has done for me can never be expressed in words. Thank you Smita.

Getting rehab for my dominant hand. Found this Rehab to be Very professional and best rehab I can recommend to my friends n family.

I have mixed feelings about this place. There are some things they do very well. The best shifts…read moreare Days and Swings. However Graveyard is absolutely terrible. My short stint there could have been so much better. I was there for rehab after knee replacement surgery. Graveyard made me anxious and intimidated. I was in a vulnerable place and just tried to ride it out. One final incident was enough for me to speak out. I was told from the get go that Graves had their own program and it was insinuated that I should comply. Why was I in a diaper? No idea. PT wanted me walking to the restroom. Not on graves. They insisted I pee and poop in the diaper. Humiliating. Nope! Not going to happen. I had to wait until Dayshift for someone to guide me to the bathroom. I was awoken in the early AM, still graveyard, a couple of times by someone kicking my bed. The jolt made my heart race. I have a heart condition and it wasn't a good approach. The nursing on nights is the complete opposite of days and swings. Let's just say I'm surprised this one nurse still has a job. The nurse broke protocol and policy. The nurse tried to tell me I was crazy regarding a specialty medicine I've been taking. The nurse left this medication in a cup and didn't tell me or watch me take it. There is so much more with this situation that was wrong and just too long to go into. I finally reported to several people all the stuff that was happening to me on graveyard. The head nurse was shocked and promised to look into it. I was leaving the next day and thankfully the nurse in question was on days off. I was actually worried about retaliation. That should never happen to anyone. Days and Swings may function well, but graveyard is terrible. I honestly cannot recommend this place because of graves!! The food at this place is terrible. I could hardly eat anything. I have food allergies and most of the time it wasn't followed. I would suggest a complete overhaul of their menu. And taste the food before you send it out. This facility isn't cheap. You should get a decent meal. I don't know how you mess up scrambled eggs but they succeeded. The care I received is mixed. Dayshift was the best, Swings was next, with the exception of two or three really great employees on swings. They know who they are. Graves is in the negatives. It may not be fair to lump everyone together but the negative far outweighs the positive so I have too. This place has great potential. I really think they are working on many things. Fix graveyard. Fix the employees who don't seem to like their job, who run their own program that is nothing like other shifts and the patients pay for it. Stop letting them intimidate patients. I was literally afraid to sleep. I'm glad my stay was short. One of the big pluses was the PT and OT staff. They were fantastic. They are a step above in all things. I unfortunately overheard very upset family members on graveyard complaining about the medical staff. It was awful listening to their concerns and the staff pretty much ignoring them. I secretly hoped they would take it further. Some employees on graves actually looked petrified at the simplest requests. The one nurse on graves probably shouldn't be in health care. There is also a huge language barrier on all shifts This causes its own unique problems. All I can offer is to do your research. Ask questions. Believe your loved ones. I wish there were separate facilities for people just needing rehab. No one should experience what I did or the other problems I just happened to overhear. ***The facility is very clean and smells really good***
