All I wanted to do was get my groceries on my way home from a trip, and I was not allowed to purchase a couple of bottles of wine although I'm 53 years old and showed my ID. They insisted on seeing my daughter's ID, although she was not purchasing the over $170 worth of groceries in my cart that happened to include a couple of bottles of wine. By their logic, I should never be able to order a glass of wine at a restaurant when my daughter is with me. Does Walmart really believe that only childless people drink wine? I complained to their customer service department and over twenty-four hours later still haven't heard back from them. I don't want to give them even one star. If you have kids, I wouldn't shop there!!! UPDATE! This is the email I received from the corporate offices. NO APOLOGIES! I called and talked to the store's assistant manager and shared the email. He is doing nothing because he didn't see it happen. I picked up some bath towels and mats for my new house, but didn't have as much time to look around as I would have liked because the store was closing at 8 pm! I've worked for JC Penney in two different states, shop the chain regularly across the country, and this is the first Penney's I've ever seen that closed at 8 pm on a weekday!! Every other store closed at 9 (and some in Texas stay open until midnight during the Christmas shopping season! It was quite disappointing. Still, it's nice to have one in my new city and I will certainly be back.
