I've been to this store many times before, but today (6/3/21) they had someone new. I think his name is Michael. I've never in my 79 years had a salesperson be this rude. I wanted a quart of paint. His job was to sell it to me - not tell me what to do with it. Because I had written on the top "for counter top" he insisted that he "didn't sell counter top paint." I knew what I was doing and tried to tell him that. I just wanted the paint! What I used it for was on me. This was a paint I had used for a counter top back splash. Not that it was his business. He finally told me to just leave if I "if I wasn't going to let him help me." I DID NOT need his help. I just needed the paint. I never raised my voice nor used inappropriate language. I left and went to the Benjamin Moore store on 1960. Nice people. DO NOT GO TO THE STORE at 21009 Kuykendahl.

The cashier greeted everyone that was not black very friendly. He did not acknowledge my husband or I at all. It was as if we were invisible. We gave him the benefit of doubt, until anther black custom came, and was not greeted too. We could have purchased our samples, but we refuse to spend our money where we are not treated equally. Normally when you walk into a store someone will greet you and say hello. Here not one employee said anything. I waited for 15 minutes while they helped other customers. During that time no one bothered to be courteous enough to say hey we will be with you in a minute. After one of the associates finished helping his customer, instead of coming over to help me, he started walking around the store scanning in inventory. After 5 minutes of doing that he finally decides to come help me. Not sure what the deal at this place is. Ok if you need to run in and grab some paint, but don't expect to get any service here.

I do shop there a lot when it comes to my wallpapers & paints, so I've gotten to know the staff over the couple of years I've been pretty well. They're always friendly (the two that I deal with specifically) and go out of their way to make sure I have all I need and exactly what I came for. While the paint itself is pretty spendy - especially if you use the Emerald line like I do, the finish is astonishing. If I were you and cost were of concern, I'd try buying when they have their sales and use whatever coupons you get in your mailers or emails. It will definitely help to offset the cost. Keep in mind though, that a paint job is only as good as the painter themselves & 90% prep work. If that's the case and you've had a bad experience - then maybe you need a new painter and not new paint. ;-) I'm just saying.... Either way, I'll continue to come here and buy my paint. I can honestly say, I've only experienced ONCE - the employees "goofing off" and to me - it wasn't a big deal. Everyone has a way of making the day go while working - especially in a store that may be quiet for most of the day. When I've shopped there, I'm always greeted promptly and assisted BEFORE I hear any banter between the employees, and to be honest - I just dismiss it either way, unless the language becomes offensive or unprofessional...
