I gave the store two stars because a nice man who works in the paint department showed me the employee who works in plumbing. I approached her and she ignored me and as I asked her if she worked in plumbing she responded with what I thought was "I'm not here." On the inside I figured I just misunderstood her. Wrong. I asked again and said I only had a quick question. She then emphatically said "I'm not here. I'm OFF." Fooled me because I was thinking "uh then why are you here WORKING?" She said again she was off so I set the item causing my aforementioned question on a shelf. She then realized I was leaving and mumbling to myself that I was going to write this missive about the experience. Check. I like to patronize small businesses rather than box stores. But my shopping trip to the box store was no less satisfying than the time spent at Ace today. After all my expectations are that I will need to know what I want at the box store. I probably will not step into the Ace again, and my advice to Ace's management would be to periodically check on your team and consider someone who wants to be service minded.

I took the week off to get some things done around the house, one of those was painting the hallway. I had a full can of my favorite color (Sea Salt if you were wondering) from 2021, so I took it to the store to get it shaken. Being a native, I saw someone from my childhood, and we chatted for a bit, said goodbye and exited, but I forgot something and went back in. Well, this person followed me back in the store and started again to reminisce, to the point where he was searching for more to say; it got kinda weird, but Manny was catching my non-verbal cues. I finally made my way to the register and the guy walked to the door, but he stood there playing with his phone. Manny was taking a bit to start my purchase, well he was changing search criteria to name. SW normally ask for your phone number, but Manny suspected the guy's hesitation was to hear my phone number. When the guy finally left I said, "I was praying, please don't ask for my number." Manny said he was thinking the same and that's why he asked for my name. The guy may have just been happy to see someone from the old neighborhood, we'll never know, but "Thank you, Manny, for your vigilance and protecting me." The staff was extremely helpful and always made sure that I was taken care of especially at checkout. The staff moral as a whole was very positive. I had to quickly run in and grab some paint supplies and they had exactly what I needed. No issues with pricing. I didn't feel like I was taken advantage of in the store. Everything was very clean. I did not realize all the products ACE has. At this point, I'd prefer ACE over Home Depot or Lowe's. Especially to avoid the crowds. Bonus, they offer a military discount!

I visited recently literally 4 minutes before the store closed and was not rushed through my purchase. Not only that, they grabbed all my items and brought them out to my car and placed them into my trunk for me. Now if that's not amazing service, then I don't know what to tell you. I am never disappointed when I visit. There are many times I have needed to paint match (they are experts at this) and they have been spot on. She surely knows her stuff and works hard to help her customer through the ENTIRE process of buying carpet. She has been amazing through our process. We spent 1.5 hours getting help from the call center with our quote, to establish a coupon code along with correcting the color ect. Having to go through the call center really is hard. She even helped us with where seams would be and every saved us a couple hundred dollars. If carpet is something you are looking to get, I highly recommend working with Fatima if you can.
