When you buy car batteries from Advance Auto Parts, make a calendar reminder to have it checked periodically so that you can take advantage of the warranty that will replace any defective battery within the stated period. He graciously installed the new battery for me with no charge. I never felt duped or pressured into buying items that I didn't need or understand. I don't claim to be a guru when it comes to car parts and accessories so I do appreciate the honesty and willingness to help. Located in the Southern Shopping Center, the store has its own small parking lot. They do offer a 10% military discount but if you sign up to receive their emails; you'll find various promotions that tout 20% off when you order online for delivery or pick up in the store. An overall positive experience and I'll continue to patronize this business for my car care needs and accessories. They are able to look you up by telephone number if you need your order history. If an item isn't in stock, they'll check their database to see what nearby location has it or have it special ordered. Most people would think they'd just have the little tree air fresheners and items to wash your car but they have an array of products to keep your car looking good, smelling good and running even better.

The technician working on my car informed me and showed me first-hand that both of my front rims were bent badly (most likely due to the crappy roads in VA) and referred me to another shop for repair. Greatly appreciated the information and brought to light why my steering wheel would shake badly when going above 40mph. Ended up shifting the newly replaced tires from the front to the back as the tech advised to reduce the "shaking" until i could repair the rim damage. Any other shop would have just replaced the tires as requested and not inform me of the rim damage. Highly recommend their service.

I began the conversation politely by asking how he was doing, but was immediately met with an unfriendly attitude and a tone that came across as dismissive and entitled. Throughout the interaction, he behaved as though he personally owned the facility rather than serving customers who rely on the shop's services. My visit was simply to perform an oil change on my vehicle. As a first-time user of one of the vehicle lifts, I respectfully asked for assistance and a brief demonstration on how to operate the equipment safely. Instead of providing guidance, I was told to "figure it out" on my own. Given the potential safety concerns involved with operating automotive lifts, I found this response both inappropriate and concerning. When I acknowledged the sarcastic tone and lack of assistance I was receiving, the employee became defensive and stated that he would not tolerate my "attitude." Despite the fact that I had only requested help and expressed concern about how I was being treated, he refused to provide service, closed the service window in my face, and effectively ended the interaction without resolving the issue. I was genuinely surprised by the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism displayed during this encounter. Customers should be able to seek assistance, especially when operating unfamiliar equipment, without being treated poorly or denied service. The experience left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I believe this situation warrants review by management. Customer service representatives, particularly those working in facilities designed to support service members, their families, and authorized patrons, should demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a willingness to assist. Based on my experience, this employee's conduct fell far short of those expectations. After hearing my account and knowing the ins-and-outs of air intake cleaning, he emphasized the importance of a thorough cleaning. He gave me the courage to clean the throttle body with more rigor, and it solved the problem. After running several errands to verify the check engine light was gone, I called Advance to thank Isaac. The manager, James, was hell-bent on telling me that the rubber O-ring was "covered in oil" and thus unrefundable even though it was Advance Auto who sold me the wrong filter. No apologies were offered. Instead, James compared both the old and new O-rings by pulling them with his fingers to show me they were the same size. Ridiculous. Never going back. I worked with Jamie Phelps who was great! Jamie took care of the order and they even provided installation services. This was a big plus as the batteries weighed 76 lbs a piece. Their installer Mike took care of the removal, cleanup, install, and testing. Watching Jamie working with the customers on phone and in person was impressive he really knows batteries!
