I am all for supporting local neighborhood small business but never this place. First of all if you are here for Benjamin Moore paint then go somewhere else. I would recommend going to Garfield or Lodi which have fresher/newer paints as this shop is primarily a hardware store. So we bought like 20 gallons of paint from this guy and paid like around $1300 for it. Upon starting the paint job next day, our painter complained about one of the 5 gallons of semi gloss paint which was dry from the bottom. Mind you This was not a mixed paint.. it was non stained and typically stores take it back bec they can easily return to the company. We went back to exchange it for a newer paint as this has dried. Now mind you we were not asking for money back just asking for exchange on a non stained paint. The crap this person gave my husband and he talked so rudely and made fun of him instead of owing up to his mistake. He argued until my husband made him talk to our painter. After making fun of my husband and mocking him he reluctantly went in to get another 5 gallon of paint instead of the old one we had. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone due to their horrible customer service and older paints. Also I would much rather go to a home depot for my hardware needs then support this business. STAY AWAY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

When she called me I told her I already got it and now, an hour after purchasing, she had to return it. This review is solely based on the interaction she had with the rude and condescending employee (owner? Don't know) working the register. When she explained she needed to return it due to the above reasoning he started to question her on why, and that he "heard her on the phone with someone when she was in the store" and that he had "a no return policy" (I'm assuming on opened paint) and that he's losing money because he spent time shaking it up, and what does he have nothing better to do? I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone and honestly I have never heard of such a BS way to speak to a woman in my life. I'm not sure this guy would have spoken this way in front of me, maybe he would have. But I'll tell you the conversation would have been a lot different. Will never go here again and would never recommend due to the horrible interaction.

I was on Fulton street and walked into this store that I accidentally found while in the area. I walked in requesting a copy of my keys and the owner asked if I wanted him to make only a copy of my keys and why not the FOB, too? I told him that he couldn't do that and that only my building could. The owner reassured me that he had all the equipment in that store and he would be able to CLONE my FOB so I'd have an extra set of keys and a FOB just in case I lost my original ones. He was right! I live in Brooklyn and when I got home even the FOB worked. This place gave me great customer service and really came through. They certainly know what they are doing. And the gentleman who assisted us very kindly installed the new blade on the box cutter. Really nice to have this in my mother's new neighborhood. The friendly help was much appreciated. We were tired and cranky, so didn't really explore the store. Really great experience with Painters NYC. Tim and his assistant painted two recently renovated…read morerooms in my apartment. I needed help deciding between a few Ben Moore color choices, one of which they specifically recommended themselves, which made it easier. They were both friendly and seemed to take the task with patience, which I appreciated. I didn't want to put too much work into it, because the room set up is pretty established and I just wanted a refresh, but obviously still wanted everything to look good! I'm glad I found these guys because that's exactly what I got. The process was really easy from start to finish - I filled out an online contact form on their site and got a call to get the ball rolling the next day. An estimator came to give me quote and went through the process - what color I should buy/was recommended and how much I should buy based on how many layers he thought I'd need. Since it was just two rooms, they said it could all be done in a day! We scheduled the painting for a few days later based on my schedule. They did a great job of not getting paint on ANYTHING and I didn't pay until everything was totally done. I paid via credit card but understood that they accept payment with Venmo and PayPall too which is awesome. Overall would highly recommend - painless process and great results!

Finally got my workspace painted. It was well worth it…read more New York gets so dirty. You'd be surprised how quickly your light colored walls get dirty if you are anywhere in Manhattan. It's like people bring the dust and leave it everywhere. And since it teach and a lot of students go through the the space I often need the service. Unfortunately there are also a lot of shady painters that don't do the job well, which annoys me so much ( it would any person with OCD). So I'm super pleased that I called these guys. I definitely recommend them, they are quick and clean and I kid had to leave a review because a wonderful service like this definitely deserves it.
