It distressed me to see only one review on Yelp and it be so scathing. As for "professional, gentle painters," I just had what I thought to be one of those do some exterior work on my home. He actually stated before he began my project that he was "more of a perfectionist than I." I would love to have a picture of his face when I questioned the basis for his statement. Gentle and professional as he can't or may not be, I can now confidently demonstrate with examples the inaccuracy of his claim. In the past, my wife has had painting done in our home. It is my opinion that many residential spreaders of paint should advertise as such and refrain from the noble title of painter. I'm sticking with Budeke's and either hiring a profession, or applying quality product acquired from them myself.

As part of a Highlandtown Community Service Project effort, I stopped in to ask Budeke's if they had any pallets to donate to the cause. Chris, whom I spoke with, was super friendly and offered us free stain and pallets - as many as we could grab - and as many as Budeke's had on hand. I was so impressed and blown away by their charity. Thanks to budeke's we were able to construct tree pit guards along Highland Ave. to preserve the trees and keep trash out. Thank you so much Budeke's, we will be leaning on you for the future and hopefully purchasing some products from you as well!

We purchased 3 pallets of bluestone from Genes with the large pieces showing at the top of the…read morepallets. We spent over $1000. When the pallets were delivered and my husband started the project and opened up the pallets, what was inside the pallets was rubble, small, and some medium sized pieces. Not many large pieces - maybe 15 in all. When I called to speak to the owner he said he didn't know anything about what was in the pallets. He I saw the same thing he saw. My suggestion to him - let people know before purchasing. Put a sign up. We assume, as the owner of Genes, that he knows what he is selling to the buyer. Now we need to buy more bluestone, and I won't buy from him. I'll go buy from somewhere who deals in stone. I suggested he give us two pallets for free since most of our product was worthless and said - "I won't do that". Oh and lastly - one of the bigger pieces had already been cut around a 4x4 post.
