Needing a new washer and dryer, I did my research online for a good set that helps with pet hair. The Maytag Pet Pro washer and dryer got excellent reviews and were on sale at Lowe's. When I arrived, they had both in store and Tim provided assistance in explaining the features of the washer and dryer, plus ringing me up with the sale prices. I was rung up and had a delivery date in less than 8 minutes! When I got home, I received a text from Lowe's giving me a delivery window of the next day between 8 AM and 8 PM, then got another text later with a window of between 12-4 PM. Waiting at home all day, I finally got a phone call from the delivery dispatch saying the truck broke and I would have to call to reschedule my delivery. Ugh. Luckily, they could schedule me for the following day. I got text updates and was able to track Manuel, my delivery driver, on the Lowe's app. Manuel arrived and had my washer and dryer, plus new venting, installed within 20 minutes start to finish. I bought windows here and signed up for Lowe's installation services. The installation went O.K., but the windows came with the wrong size grids. Over two months later and multiple calls to complain, still no new grids! Every time I call to complain they say: "Oh, we need the serial numbers," even though I have sent the serial numbers in repeatedly. I would not buy windows or use Lowe's installation services ever again. (Multiple layers of subcontractors and suppliers so no one takes responsibility.) You have been warned. read more

Great service! I have been looking for new Bathroom fixtures. I went into the Orange competitor of Lowes in Cockeysville, it was terrible. No employees wanted to help me, they sat on their butts and shoved me around to different people, I finally had enough and left the store. I went to Lowes on Beaver Damn Rd. What a difference, someone greeted me at the door and told me were to go in the store. I was met by a knowledgeable man, Eric, who was happy to help me! Every customer should feel valued. That's why I was a loyal Lowe's customer until September 2 when I wanted to return a $5 shelf bracket I bought last fall. It is still sold in the store and I had the receipt. The young lady processed my other return #18877 and told me "we won't take any return over 90 days." She could see my exasperation and handed back the bracket. I told her I had no use for the bracket. She repeated the same line like I was a pain. I told her to keep it and I promised to never come to a Lowe's again. I got a cheery OK. That was rude. I asked her again to tell her manager what I said. Another cheery OK. I bet she didn't. Not happy at all. We do a lot of business at Lowe's and I may reconsider if i want to continue shopping there. I had to pickup a vanity and top. Very heavy. I asked to have help loading this and the call went out for assistance. There was a young man down the sidewalk that was on his phone and i saw him start coming my way. When i turned around he was walking past me on his phone and got one shopping cart and was walking past me again talking on his phone. I asked for help and he didn't even acknowledge me. I've been to this Lowes a few times. Today I really needed to grab several new home tickets items. I usually have a poor experience at Home Depot so I thought I'd come back to this Lowes... THE GOOD... -tons of parking -fairly simple to find what you need -a few items I price checked were less than Amazon -had everything I needed to purchase -one guy in lumber was willing to measure and assist after first guy did nothing THE BAD... -staff is unfriendly and nobody offers to assist -needed something in lumber section and asked guy moving stuff around if he could call someone to assist me...he annoyingly responded he could...perhaps he should have stopped what he was doing and just acknowledged me -cashier at register had no idea how to look up lumber pieces in computer...she began calling over to lumber dept to verify skew, but nobody was answering...she then started to complain why they don't answer the phone...another cashier came over to show her how to do it -cashier didn't offer to bag any smaller items -asked cashier where the garage door opener area was to setup someone to install one...her response, "somewhere in the back" Overall, the customer service at this Lowes is atrocious. It's not just one employee that's for sure! Major flaws in their hiring and training practices. I will not be returning to this Lowes location again. read more

What a horrible experience! Even from the negative salesperson to customer service they were uninformed, rude and unprofessional. We returned a dryer because the installers did not seem like they knew what they were doing. Customer service said she didn't know the name of the store manager? Later we noticed his name was printed on the receipt. She didn't want us to communicate with him. It was bad enough a $460 dryer was going to be $869 with the install and all the add ons but when their installer came out and didn't seem like he knew what he was doing and asked us for even more money it was like forget it! This weekend was "fix kitchen plumbing" weekend. I was NOT excited about this home project. My garbage disposal has been broken for a little over a year and I guess I just learned to live with it. However, my honey was not having that. Because Home Depot has such poor quality customer service, we drove the 25-30min to Timonium for what we needed. What a pleasant surprise. Employees who were actually around and to top it off able to provide meaningful service?!! What the?!! We came here several times this weekend and each time we were greeted with friendly smiles and offers for help. This is exactly what is needed when doing a DIY project in which youtube and google searches are the primary resources! :) There was enough staff to keep the lines from building up and causing queuing issues, so checkout was a breeze. When we finished the project we had a few things that we didn't use. The return process was a nice and smooth. I'll always recommend this location for quality customer service and a friendly environment with home improvement projects. I only gave 4 stars instead of five because as my honey shopped, asked questions, and discussed the house project with employees, I became restless. I wish that there were chairs for spouses such as myself who are just along for the ride, but get caught up in a 1.5hr trip to Lowes!! Ya know that section of Macy's with couches for the bored husbands? They need one here! I ended up picking up magazines/books and sitting in patio furniture while I waited LOL. read more

I came in looking for an air filter. I didn't see the size I needed so I asked the self checkout employee if she could get someone to assist me. I had walked all over the store and couldn't find any associate to help. After 25 minutes of waiting, I walked back over to her and asked where they were. She said she was unable to get a hold of anybody. Finally, after half an hour a guy comes over and I ask where the size air filter is and he says well if you don't see it here, look online. And didn't even offer to help look anywhere in the store or glance at the aisle. He was not nice and clearly just didn't want to walk over to assist me. I waited for more than 30 minutes for a store rep in the plumbing dept to free up when Murray, from the electrical dept, walked over to see if he could be of assistance. Long story short - miscommunication, lack of communication, giving out a wrong phone number and bad service.... If you look to have a carpet installed do your self a favor and go to a store specialized in carpets. Our experience had been terrible - there seems to be no coordination between the sales person, the Installment Team and the installer. It was impossible to talk to a person in charge who could tell us when the installer is supposed to come. So, we were surprised by not having more than a day advance notice and that only because I kept calling, pressing them for information on the correct date. I also wonder why there was so much carpet left over after Lowe's had send out somebody to measure our room. read more

I was shopping for a 1.5 cubic foot of garden soil on a Monday around mid-day. The item was in stock. Being elderly I asked for assistance loading in my car. There was literally no one available. I looked around inside and outside the building. The only two staff in the garden/nursery area were at the checkouts. I was not the only person of age that might have needed help. I think Lowe's owes it to their customers, particularly in the busy spring season, to have enough staff on hand to be useful to others. read more

I ordered a french casement window on 1/16/17. Window arrived the middle of February- and it was the wrong window. Lowe's can't even get the window I thought I ordered, but to go through Pella directly this window would have cost an additional four thousand dollars. Settled for a window with a mullion in the center but wanted the swing on the window to mirror that of a french casement. Lowe's ordered a new window. The new window came in, again, I had installers at my home waiting and the window was damaged. So now, I had a big hole in the front of my house and a damaged window. I could have had the installers run to the store and purchase material to board up and secure the hole, but that would have cost me more money. So, they temporally put the window in until we head back from Lowe's. I spoke to the millwork manager, Charles Stewart, and another manager Mike Cognazzo that day. At first, Mike called me and told me I would have a new window in one week. He later emailed me telling me they would rush it and it would be two-three weeks (which wasn't rushed because that is the original timeframe I was given). No apology, no I'm sorry about this, we want to make this right. None of that. I was instead why I chose a Pella window, why I didn't use their installers, etc. I received an email from Charles stating, "Yes, your window is in the store. I checked the window myself to see if there was any damages to the window, frame, glass etc. Everything looked good to me and I asked Mike to email you asking when you'd like to have this delivered. So, email or call back with when and we will get this out to you". The delivery was scheduled for Friday, 3/31/17 from 7:30 am- 9:30 am. The delivery driver called me at 8:05 am because he was on his way and needed to confirm my address. Once he did he told me he needed to call his manager because there was some confusion with the location. I heard from no one until I called that number back at 12:34 pm and he told me the delivery would be from 2:30 pm- 4 pm. The delivery truck showed up at 3:50 pm and the window had a line of caulk inside the pane. So again a window I can't use. I have emails from Charles and Mike assuring me that this window was inspected, so those two managers are either incompetent or they lied to me about inspecting the window. Regardless, it's terrible customer service. After speaking with Pella, they said we could keep the window and a service tech could come our to exchange the sashes. The window was schedule to be delivered on 4/5/17. I received a call from John with XPO(the delivery service Lowe's uses) telling me they needed to reschedule the delivery for /6/17. Again, I'm paying people to be at my house to get the window. (First of, I don't have that much time to take off of work AND I alone couldn't carry the window into my home.) As of 9:55 am today, 4/6/17, the window was delivered and we have to wait until May 1st, 2017 to have the sashes exchanged. They did not offer to compensate me for the errors, the delay, the additional cost I've had to pay for the installers I hired to be at my house multiple days because of their error. None of this is my fault. I was clear on the window I wanted. I didn't order the wrong window. I wasn't in the factory or delivery truck when the second window was damaged, and I wasn't in the factory when the third window wasn't cleaned properly and had caulk inside the windows. After I asked for compensation they told me all they could do was 20%. I replied telling that was unacceptable. I can get a 20% coupon in the mail for having a mailing address. They needed to do better. I have asked to speak with the store manager Larry Coldiron (I even messaged him on Linkedin, in case the other managers didn't give him my message). I've emailed their customer service department and was told I would get a call back from the Market Director of Stores (MDS) over this Lowe's in Timonium, MD. That was two days ago. Usually I like lowes, but on this visit, I was standing by the sign "product pick up" because I placed the order on line and already paid for it. After standing there for 5 mins or so, being ignored by 2 associates, one of the customer service cashier told me I had to stand in line for "returns" - why do they have a different register and entrance for product pick up then????? I'm just really annoyed because they didn't seem to care that I was waiting, and didn't even apologize one bit. And the line was super long for returns. Very disappointed in this business. We won't be shopping there again. We purchased and had installed a beautiful new custom storm door that cost over $700 back in the Fall. We were so happy with it. It was installed along with a wind chain in mid December. The man that installed the door said to us as he left "Let us know if there are any problems there is a year warranty". So on April 2nd there was a terrible wind storm. The wind chain didn't hold and our door became damaged. The closers bent and it hit our flag holder so there was a scratch in the glass. My husband called and called ( at least 7 times) over the last two weeks since it should be under warranty. They started a claim under the warranty took numbers off of the door that my husband read to them over the phone. Then a woman called and asked us if the installer Robert had called us yet. When we said no she gave us his number and she said she would email him. So my husband tried & tried to call him. His voice messages were full. He spoke to the woman again. Again she said she would send him an email. Then yesterday 4/15/16, my husband spoke to 2 more people at Lowes. He spoke to a total or 5-6 people. They told him that the installer no longer works for Lowes and that the damage was not covered even though the wind chain didn't hold, and we were told by the installer just call if there are any problems there is a year warranty. They said for a fee they could send someone to fix it. What ever happened to the customer is always right? So my husband hung up disappointed and angry. Then he went to Home Depot purchased 2 new door closers top & bottom. He did fix it himself for about $ 20. So Lowes can't even afford $20 to help a formerly loyal customer. Again we won't shop at Lowes any longer. read more

I have been attempting to purchase and have installed a Lowe's Aqua Source toilet since May 31st. Today is August 3rd and still don't have the toilet. The Owings mills store kept switching the Aqua Source to a Product Source, which the installer would not accept. Canceled it after a month of trying and attempted to buy it at the Timonium store. The Timonium store had the installer wait 45 minutes and could not find the toilet. Lowe's installation promised installation this am, but neglected to put me on their schedule. I have once again rescheduled, but probably still won't get it. I have ordered appliances from other departments with no problem. Beware of plumbing! I would give them negative stars if it were possible. read more

My 83 yo mother who lives alone, bought a washer from Lowes Timonium. On the day of delivery she cleared the basement area where the washer was to be placed, and opened the back basement door for easy access. The delivery truck arrived and the driver came through the front door insisting that he deliver through the front door. He shoved her aside and insisted that she move her own furniture out of the way so he could get the washer through the front entrance. When she picked up the phone to call Lowe's to complain, he stood by her side and aggressively insisted that she sign delivery papers for approval. She was afraid for her safety. After delivery she found dents in the appliance and the wall plumbing was cracked. Lowe's was notified, but we are considering pressing charges for elder abuse. read more

Absolutely the worst possible customer service I've ever experienced. I ordered a new refrigerator for delivery. The delivery was scheduled for a Monday 12-4 pm. Going through my emails the Sunday before my scheduled delivery, I see an email from an unknown name with the title "Delibery". I assume it's spam, after all it didn't come from a Lowe's email and the misspelling of the title just screams spam, so I ignore it. Monday morning my wife asks if I had received anything from Lowe's confirming delivery. I decide to open the suspicious email titled "Delibery" and sure enough it's from a manager at the Timonium location asking me to call him because there is a problem with my delivery. I call right away and this manager is not working and doesn't come in until noon, and no one else there has any idea what I'm talking about. My wife finally gets in contact with the manager later in the day and he tells her the Lowe's system ordered our refrigerator to the wrong store and to rectify the issue he would have to cancel our original order and reorder the refrigerator. He advised her the refrigerator would now be delivered on Thursday. Wasted time and lost income. Thursday comes and the refrigerator water line is delivered but no refrigerator. We call again. Seems this time the manager who reordered our refrigerator set it for pickup on Thursday not delivery. Funny enough Lowe's had already charged us the appliance removal fee, which they clearly hadn't done yet. More wasted time and lost income. New delivery date? Saturday. Saturday comes, refrigerator finally shows up, with two very nice delivery guys. But that's not the end, "we can't hook up your water line"! What? "It's not the right hose, it won't work". It's the hose Lowe's told me to order, ok just hook up the old line, since I had to pay extra for delivery, installation, and removal of the old refrigerator. "We're not allowed to do that." Great so now I get to hook up the old line, yes it's a simple job, but I paid extra to have it done for me and since Lowe's recommended the wrong water line, which I also paid extra for, I now get to do it myself. My wife calls to ask what Lowe's is going to do about all of this and has a very rude encounter with the person on the other end of the line. I then get a call on my phone (it was ordered through my Lowe's account so they have my number on file), from yet another manager yelling at me claiming my wife threatened her team member, which absolutely didn't happen. So yeah if you want to get screwed over multiple times, have the job left incomplete, and then be blamed and belittled by the staff for their mistakes then Lowe's Timonium is the place to go. read more

I'm going to revamp my review about my returns. By going to the Returns desk, having my paperwork, and explaining the problem, the return desk readily accepted my window blinds for return. If I have a return in the future, I will go straight to the return desk and not go to the manager of department. My problem was with the manager of the department. read more

Standard big home store. They had what I wanted, a simple half hp garbage disposal. I didn't need to go high end, just wanted a replacement for the builders special in my townhouse. Found what I needed with a little direction.. the employee did try to sell up to a better disposal, which was a lot more money. I said no, this is all I need. I was shopping for several disparate things here today (stackable washer and dryer, floor and wall tile, wood stain) and also returned several items and applied, and got, a Lowe's business credit card, so I dealt with lots of different departments. Most everyone I came into contact with was professional, mostly knowledgeable, and friendly. A skinny, young African-American man helped me with the laundry stuff, pointing out some differences between a couple machines that I wouldn't have noticed. He also added that their Labor Day sale was coming up. Three people were restocking tile, lifting fairly heavy boxes, but still acting professionally and checking on me several times if I needed help. When I went to apply for the credit card, the first guy at the Pro Desk walked me over to another guy who he said was more experienced, who led me to Customer Service, as his machine wasn't working. We went to the register, the cashier rudely told us there was no sticker on the tiles. She said it like it was our fault. She interrupted another customers check-out to touch base with the cashier next us. She told her the place to look for the price. The cashier did not look, she called for help. Another lady came, looked at the tiles. She never addressed us, I shared the marked price. A gentleman came and told us they were only sold by the case. I shared how they were priced. He talked to me like this was our issue, not his. When he continued down this path, I didn't want my son to experience this rudeness, so I said that I am leaving and not purchasing any items. The Lowes employees made rude remarks as we walked out of the door. This is a systemic issue with this store. Do not shop here. read more

Great customer service in the paint dept. by Dana, the manager. I had purchased some paint that looked really different on the wall depending on the different lighting throughout the day, and was quite disappointed. Per Dana's OK, I was able to return the unused paint. She was very helpful and took the time to educate me the many different shades of "gray", so that I could make a choice to suit my needs. That said, I came back later to repurchase more paint heeding her shade recommendations and was quite happy. I worked in customer service for years, and definitely appreciated her professionalism and caring attitude. read more

I used to be very loyal to this place. Despite having a Home Depot 3 miles from my house, I would drive 15 to go to Lowes for the service and the knowledgable staff. Last year I dropped 800 dollars on a dishwasher which they said was backordered. Since it was a good sale, I did not mind waiting. Three weeks passed and still no call. I finally called them and after half an hour on the phone discovered that the washer came in two weeks ago. I noticed when I picked it up that the box was pretty damaged, but has been taped up with what appeared to be two rolls of tape. After absolutely refusing my request to open it in the store, they assured me that this product was checked and tested. Upon arrival at home and unpacking the box, I found a 12 inch dent on the back of the steel tub. It was so bad that the door would not even close with a rack inside. When I took it back, the customer service rep told me to go see the guy that sold me the washer an hour earlier. As I was walking toward the appliance department, the guy saw me and literally ran into the employee break area and would not come out. Every single manager was also "out on break." I promptly got a refund and never came back there again. I'm sot sure what happened at that store, but the quality of customer service is completely gone. read more

As a customer with years of loyal service, they have recently treated me like a thief or a liar.
