I walked in and I was very pleased to see how clean, roomy and well organized this store was. There was a gentleman working behind the main counter, who asked me if I needed any help. I told him that I was just looking for a few things, I was ok...thank you..... Sure enough, I found the adhesive and the sandpaper section fairly quickly and I got what I needed in a matter of seconds....It does make a difference when you go to a store where everything is well marked, laid out and organized. The Sherwin-Williams company, founded in 1866 has more than 4,800 stores in the Americas and over 60,000 employees worldwide that provide the customers with assistance on anything related to paint and small home projects. It was an easy shopping experience.

So, off we went to the store to select some samples for the house. Since this store is just about paints and stains, I felt they had a far superior color selection than other hardware stores. I mean, who knew that you could have 35+ different shades of white. We spent about an hour in the store looking for shades for the house as well as the trim. The staff was super friendly, but not overly opinionated. In the end, they helped us to select the final colors based on the look we were going for. Samples are huge, and run about $5. If you are looking for exterior paint, you may want to buy a quart so you can test it with the correct finish - as samples only come in satin. However, two quarts and a sample size ran us around $35. Thought that was a great deal! They have sales often, so make sure you look up the deals before you decide to shop. Would totally visit Sherwin-Williams again for home projects - easy to shop and super friendly.

The manager didn't think he had what we needed any longer, but checked with a staff member. They had one kit left, but only in white -- the wrong color. The staff member said we should order it on Amazon (!). I explained we were trying to "shop local" ... In any case, the manager gave us some suggestions of some larger stores that might have more inventory. He even suggested we call a location in advance to see if they could order it. That was incredibly nice of him to do so... If you live in this area, and need something, please visit. They deserve to get some yelper business

I guess everyone has had different experiences with Hanna, but all of mine have been very good. Hanna Paint and Hardware is a smaller privately owned hardware store which for me offers a much better shopping experience than I have at the big box stores such as Lowes or Home Depot. Hanna's is a place where I can easily find someone knowledgeable to give me shopping assistance and sound advice. I know that one time I walked into Hanna asking for a specific item and the clerk told me, even though he did carry that item, it was really not the best hence not what I should want. So, I picked up the other item he recommended and yes, he was so right and it was so much better. The chances of me getting good advice like that elsewhere are at best, remote.

I gave the color name and color code needed, they mixed it up, I paid and left. When I got home it was not the color I ordered, drove back and they verified that yes they mixed it wrong. They then proceeded to want to ad "shots of black" to it to bring it up to the color. I declined and requested a new bucket to be mixed since I'm using it to match an existing wall and in the future I need future paint purchases to match. They argued with me for about 5 minutes about how this is bad for their business and I should accept the "fixed" paint. Eventually a new can was mixed and I left amazed at how their mistake was tried to be pushed onto me, the customer. Fast forward about a year later. I recently walked into the store about 5-10 minutes before 3pm when I was announced at "I'm closing up now, so you better know what you want?" I was taken back by this as it was early and I had a couple questions to ask before I was going to buy about $500 worth of paint. I proceeded to ask if they had a specific BM in stock which I was told quickly that BM doesn't make it anymore, which I knew was a lie. I was so floored by the attitude of the clerk I walked out and he proceeded to lock the door immediately behind me. I went up to the BM store 10 minutes north in Pompano and low and behold they had the paint that "they don't make anymore," they were incredibly friendly, answered all my questions, and carried my paint out to my car. Save your time and hard earned money and avoid this place. BM should pull their franchise license.

Plenty of parking on either side. I walked in from the A1A side and I pleasantly noticed how well lit, clean and organized this store was. They had a large section of items for contractors like sprayers, rags, overalls, etc... They also have a good inventory of items for the retail shopper that might only need a few items for a small paint job. On Saturday, I bought a flapper valve for a toilet. I also bought a new showerhead…read more The flapper valve was too large so I needed to exchange it. The showerhead was missing a washer so I need to exchange that. This morning, I walked into the Ace Hardware store and spoke to the cashier. He told me to go upstairs and exchange the two parts. I went upstairs to exchange the two parts and one of the employees started to interrogate me about who told me to come upstairs and exchange them. I told him that it was the cashier. He asked me what the name of the cashier was. I told him I didn't know the name of the cashier, but since he works there, he would know the name of the cashier. He absolutely refused to let me exchange the two pieces. I went back downstairs and returned the two purchases. The refund was refunded to my credit card. I then went to Home Depot on Oakland Park Blvd. and got the flapper valve and the shower head along with thread tape. Home Depot had plenty of employees on the floor. I asked one of the employees where the thread tape was. She looked it up on her handheld device and took me right to the product. To top it all off everything was a total of $25 cheaper than at Ace Hardware on the beach.
