My mother moved in here about a month ago and in reading prior reviews I was very concerned. I've been visiting for about a week and truly am impressed with every interaction I have. The staff are unfailingly kind and patient- they never make you feel rushed at all. They are knowledgeable, capable and everyone seems very happy there. They are currently going through a remodel and everything looks fresh, clean and beautiful. I am very, very comfortable with my mom being there- the staff are taking great care of her and do everything they can to accomodate all of my requests! Thank you so very, very much! read more

FALSE ADVERTISING! They still say they are locally owned and that they have nurses available 24/7 on their website. This just isn't true. There is NEVER a nurse available-just medical technicians, which all are not trained or knowledgeable about medications and they are trusted to care for this vulnerable population with no skill, training or nurse managers. The Administrator is never available and always behind a closed door. I've been coming to Sherwood for many years and it's sad to see the decline. It speaks volumes that the staff looks stressed and unhappy. I will NOT be recommending Sherwood to anyone anymore. read more

My father was there from 2023 to 2025. The place had just been sold to Oxford. Was sad to see the veteran staff being fired and/or being let go in that period of time. Glad we could find a much better place across from Sherwood that has much better staffing for his dementia needs. Seeing former Sherwood staff moving there as well. Our father is 99 and has dementia. He is able bodied and loves to walk the halls with his walker. After just a week in the Memory Care unit he had fallen twice and in the 2 months there he fell several times, with two trips to the ER. The problem is there are not enough staff members day or night to efficiently watch all clients. There is only one staff member on the floor at night! We moved him after 2 months. Even with bed alarms, they can't get to the client in time. read more

This is one of the best facilities I've seen. I work as a computer technician in Sequim and Port Angles, so I've seen a number of nursing homes and assisted living facilities during the course of working for the businesses or their residents. I've done work for a number of clients living at Sherwood ( the facility itself contacts to a different computer tech); and I can tell you that should my parents need to be in an assisted living facility this is the one I would choose in a heartbeat. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the residents rave about the food and activities, and the entire place is clean and well maintained. As far as food goes I dread going there around meal times because I know that I'll be tortured by smelling the food that they serve but not being able to eat it :^D Some of the other facilities I've been in, you can tell that it's not being kept up properly by the smell; it ether it smells bad or there's am overpowering "I'm trying to cover something up" floral sent. But whenever I'm at Sherwood it just smells clean, and that more then anything impressed me. It's one thing to look clean on the surface, but to have a facility like this that pays such attention to details. read more

My mom was fortunate enough to be able to move into the Sherwood after my dad's unexpected death. The staff took care of me as well as welcoming my mother. The staff all seem happy, from the nurses down to the laundryman. Everyone is smiling, attentive and downright nice. The food is pretty good too. My mom has made a fantastic adjustment. There are lots of activities everyday. The activities coordinator gathers my mom up and makes sure she feels included. The facility is very clean, and although the decor is a bit dated, it feels very homey. When mom needed more help after a fall, the staff stepped in and gave her all the help she needed. I only wish the facility was closer to my home, but mom wanted to stay in Sequim, near all her friends. Frankly, I'd love to retire there, with restaurant style meals three times a day and twice weekly room cleaning and having your laundry done for you! Heaven's waiting room. read more
