From the moment you drive…read moreup to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The armoire is much nicer and larger than the usual small closet you find in most facilities. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNA's are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN's who dispense the medication are equally quick to help and all of them have kind words along with words of encouragement for each patient. Unfortunately, I have been in numerous facilities and non of them compare. OakView is fine tuned and runs very smoothly. Administrative staff checks on the patients frequently to make sure all needs are met. Treatment plans are prepared by medical staff. And the social worker is very kind and extremely helpful in taking care of the patient while on the premises but also after they leave OakView. She even called me two days after my release from OakView to check on me and to see if there was any additional needs I had. I was extremely impressed by this as I had never had this happen before. Never was there a social worker that did a third of the work this woman did let alone follow through and show she cared every step of the way. OakView feels like a resort with medical assistance, not a skilled nursing facility. The food is excellent and if it's not to your liking, the chef is willing to prepare something that meets your desires. No other facility I know of does that. If and when I need to be in a skilled nursing facility again, I hope I am blessed to be able to find a room at OakView. I highly recommend it. P.S. They also have an assisted living facility.

Rachel connected with mom (she's 79) immediately. She took charge right away and took excellent care of my mom while keeping her laughing too. We don't know where we would be without her. You truly have a heart like Jesus, as He said, 'I have come to be a servant of all and show you the Father's love through my actions.' Your daily actions, such as always entering my home with a sweet greeting and a smile. No matter what may have occurred on your drive to work you never let it change your kindness and compassion towards me. Your daily respect for my autonomy and personal choices have been a great relief and blessing to me. Last year, 2025, was enormously difficult for me physically, emotionally and mentally. I was badly injured by a caregiver who really didn't want to be with me. She wanted to run my life instead of letting me make my own decisions. Everything was a struggle. I am still dealing with the pain and suffering from her carelessness almost a year later. You, however, are the complete opposite of that caregiver. You show genuine care, compassion and empathy to me. At the same time you keep a close watch on me for my episodes, for any unusual reactions, for changes in my body or mind that may indicate something physically is about to happen or something that is happening without my knowledge. Your daily care of me is exceptional. Everything from reading my body signs or noticing that I am in the middle of a call, task or just not ready. Yet, you come back or tell me it's getting late for something we have scheduled. This may be as simple as my breakfast or as important as helping me to get ready for my doctor appointments, my bloodwork or therapy. You encourage me to try many things that can help my health, mood or my outlook for the day. Such as, helping me relearn my Spanish while I help you with English, or walking around the house with my gait belt and walker. You keep me on top of my goals. These can be as basic as making my bed every time I get up (in the morning and after my nap). In fact, this helped me create and continue this habit. Another goal of mine is building my strength and stamina enough to walk around outside my home. This has not happened yet, as I have been primarily bed bound since February 19, 2025. You encourage my stretching in bed to keep my body as limber as possible. This helps reduce injury in case of a fall. My personal Internist, Dr. Fondren of Newport Beach certainly appreciates your encouragement and reminders to help me to regain the strength I have lost since February 2025. (when a different caregiver injured me). Once I have regained a little more endurance, then I can start physical therapy. Finally, my family has been at peace with you being my main caregiver and I love how well you and Gabbi work together caring for me. Just knowing how dependable you both are, how you communicate with each other changes, concerns and even my meal planning and cooking. My sister and my son (they both call me almost every day) are amazed that I finally have a team like you and Gabbi. Thank you Veronica for everything and I look forward to 2026 being a great year with continued great care!

It was getting so bad we had to take her the hospital a few times. One of this times they discharged her to Camarillo Health Care center. She wasn't in there for more than 10 minutes and she wanted out. The place smelled there were people wandering the halls people screening and no one around to help. Well as it turned out we only had to go to that facility because Mom had advantage pro health care HMO insurance and the choice of post care was very limited. At the hospital they said if we cancel her Advantage pro and then she will just have Medicare A+B and with her medi cal she would be covered well. So we got lucky that we got this all fixed and she was admitted into TOPA. After the experience in Camarillo we were so thankful to be near the house here in TO. First of all the place is clean. It doesn't smell. The staff is nice and helpful. So I don't know what happened with everyone else here on Yelp but they must have been picky cause in the world of post care this place is nice! After her stay of 30 days I heard no complaints. She said the food was good and they had planned events. Like a mariachi band for Hispanic heritage month and taco Thursdays. On her way out everyone was saying good bye and hugging and kissing. So suffice it to say I recommend TOPA wholeheartedly.

My dad came out of there worse off than when he arrived - during his stay he contracted a very contagious infection and came home with an undocumented ulcer, which has to be treated by a wound care specialist. The rooms are very old- 3 people to a room and 6 people using one bathroom, bathrooms are not sanitized between uses. 1 shower in the hallway, nurse couldn't tell my father if it had been cleaned and sanitized before they wanted him to use it, so he refused. I highly suggest you check out this facility before sending a loved one there.

A hidden gem of care, comfort, and compassion!…read more From the moment I walked up to the entrance of Cinnamon Gardens RCFE (Retirement Community for the Elderly), I was struck by the pristine neighborhood and the immaculate grounds of the home itself--an excellent first indicator of the level of care happening inside. As a senior placement consultant, first impressions matter deeply, and this one absolutely set the tone. I was warmly greeted at the door by the Administrator, Tammy, and from there, the tour just got better and better. Tammy is a gem--her love and commitment to her residents radiate from everything she does. She treats them like family, often going above and beyond to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system to secure the right durable medical equipment or services residents may need. That kind of support is not something she has to do--it's something she chooses to do. Tammy also has a strong network of providers and often relieves families of the burden of coordinating care, especially during an already overwhelming time. Her knowledge of innovative, often more effective equipment and care solutions is impressive, and she does it all with the residents' best interest at heart--frequently at no benefit to herself and at no or limited cost to them. On one visit, I arrived to find Tammy in the kitchen preparing a full Irish feast for St. Patrick's Day--corned beef and all the trimmings! The home was buzzing with life, with therapists coming in for different residents, and creative artwork by the residents proudly displayed throughout the home. Even though it's a 6-bed facility (which isn't required to post activities), she has a calendar posted--because she understands how important it is to give residents something to look forward to and to keep everyone meaningfully engaged. The home itself is beautifully remodeled, fresh, and impeccably clean. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with their own belongings, creating a true home-like environment--not a facility-type lifestyle. There's warmth, laughter, great food, and a genuine sense of comfort throughout. The backyard is just as thoughtful--a peaceful gathering area perfect for fresh air and connection. Tammy ensured the recent remodel used only top-quality materials, all while staying fully compliant with assisted living standards. Each time I visit, I look forward to seeing the same uplifting energy and warm atmosphere. My mom was admitted to Alta for skilled nursing toward the end of April, after a two-week hospital…read morestay at Cedars for recurrent glioblastoma. Trying to get her into the right SNF was a major challenge, but when Alta finally accepted her, we were thrilled. (My mother-in-law had been a previous patient there, and we liked the facility.) From the moment my mom arrived at Alta, the staff was warm and friendly and took great care of her. She always had a smile on her face and told me how much she enjoyed being there. She was always in the activities room, either participating in some fun activity or at least sitting in there watching others when she wasn't physically able to join in. She particularly enjoyed jewelry making and the visits from the service dogs. I was always greeted by Rachel when she saw me, and she would ask me to help pick out my mom's food choices for the upcoming few days. The food always looked and smelled great, and my mom usually ate everything on her plate. After about a month at Alta, she hadn't been making much improvement due to her condition and some underlying issues that no one had known about. She had stopped eating and was sleeping a lot more than usual. Jose, one of the nurses, called me one evening to let me know that she was very dehydrated and had a weak pulse, so they were starting her on an IV and monitoring her closely. About an hour later, he called back to say she was having trouble breathing and that he had called the paramedics. Jose told us he suspected sepsis, but we couldn't figure out how that was possible. Unfortunately, she had suffered a bowel perforation, which led to septic shock and then cardiac arrest (due to a previous hospital treatment). If not for Jose's quick thinking and expertise, my mom would have passed away at Alta in her bed. Thanks to him, we were fortunate enough to get her to the hospital to say our goodbyes. Sadly, she passed away a few hours after arriving at the hospital on May 26, 2026. When we returned to Alta to gather her belongings, the staff members we spoke with were visibly saddened and shocked to hear the news. We are so grateful to Alta and their wonderful staff for taking such great care of my mom. Her last month on earth was filled with kindness and compassion, and she received so much love and care there.
