I have had two massages at this establishment; both from Miley. I like her a lot. She's a very nice woman. My problem is that I've signed up for an ashiatsu massage on both occasions but it doesn't appear that Miley took the time to see exactly which service I requested because she gave me a standard massage with almost no ashiatsu both times. I say "almost" because I mentioned the type of massage I needed towards the end so she did it for maybe 3 or 4 minutes. It was very frustrating. If I return, I will request Annie next time with the hope that she will pay closer attention to my needs than Miley did. Also, full disclosure, this was about 6 months ago. Annie was AMAZING! We had a slight mix-up with my reservation (I booked a 2 hour but it was scheduled as a 90min) but she was so nice and apologetic. She called her manager to see what could be done since there was a booking after mine and offered a discount for the trouble. She definitely made the most of the 90 minutes. 10/15/24. Ok so I really never like to make bad comments, nothing to affect businesses, but i feel that I needed to alert customers. I made an appointment for a 90 mins THAI FULL BODY MASSAGE. I was there on time, lady {Miley} did not ask me anything just get undress and jump in the bed. So, I did, and she stepped on my back no more than 1 minute and started to oil my back. I said I am getting a THAI FULL BODY MASSAGE, so she kept telling me her boss made a mistake, ok, ok, no worry... I do it 4u, I do it 4u, but she never did. She never used a muslin ball herbal thing mentioned on the website, nothing like that, just regular body massage. I said to her, this is not a THAI massage, she kept repeating same thing. She did a massage for me previously and I liked it but I wanted to try something different but it was the same massage then at the end I went to front desk and she said $129 I asked why if you only did a 90 minutes full body massage it should be only $95 so she said no may boss already put in the system $129 and I said, ma'am, no, that is NOT RIGHT, you guys need to be honest, I did not get the massage I wanted, so I will only pay for what I received. She kept saying on, ok I will pay for you ok, I will pay for you because my boss will take it from my paycheck. I said OH, OK, you do what you have to do I will only pay for what I received, and you know it was NOT the 90 minutes THAI MASSAGE, she just ignored me saying I will pay for, I will pay for bc my boss already charged $ 129. People, seriously, pay attention to it, lot of businesses think that we are a money-making machines, for me it's very hard to make money to pay my bills and support local businesses but we can't allow other dishonest people to steal from us!!!! Those who support their businesses!!! Come on guys, stop playing fool to customers and stop stealing from us, at the end you are only cursing yourselves because your business will never prosper. This is bullshit, they got my schedule wrong twice. I had to repeat my name twice to make sure it was correct. K A Y L A, very slowly so I knew it would be accurate. Just to top off the bad customer service. They did not have my correct phone number that I had also repeated both times with my name. So when arriving 30 mins early to the appointment. That AGAIN, I had to check was correctly scheduled. We arrived and was told no one was available to do the work since one person called out and that they tried calling me twice to let me know. With the incorrect fuckin phone number. This was a special gift I researched for my moms birthday. Who is visiting from Hawaii and leaving Tuesday. I lived for several years in Japan and had many, many shiatsu massages and they were nothing like what is delivered here. Went in for a prenatal massage and booked with Miley (a senior massage therapist according to their website). Upon entering the room she wanted me to lay flat down on my stomach. I then had to correct her that I'm 8 months pregnant and that I booked a prenatal and cannot lay flat on my stomach and have to lay on my side... Halfway thru the massage, Miley requested I lay flat on my back. I once again had to remind her that I'm 8 months pregnant and it is not safe for me to lay flat on my back this far along in my pregnancy. I also requested her to to avoid massaging my ankles when she got to my feet (reflexology points you should avoid during pregnancy) and not even 5 minutes after making that comment, she started massaging my ankles and I had to tell again to not massage that area. For someone who is considered a "senior massage specialist" on your booking website and licensed to give prenatal massages, she sure did NOT know what she was doing and seemed entirely clueless on areas/positions to avoid during pregnancy. I highly advise all pregnant women to avoid coming here as the staff appears to not be properly trained on prenatal procedures. read more

The rep area is the only clean spot the rest of the rooms were so dusty in the cracks of the walls and floor boards. being your really oily after the rub down you're not sure what you're stepping on. I have gotten 2 massages here and they are ok. I did their promotion, 90 min custom massage w/citrus foot scrub. I never got the citrus foot scrub, nor their complimentary mimosa and chocolate. I feel if you advertise something you should receive it. It's no the customers job to ask. I got a groupon for Shiatsu Renu for a 90 minute Shiatsu w/ reflexology and citrus foot scrub. I called and the receptionist booked my appointment, no problems. I got paired with Laura for the services. Well her English is not very good. Thats fine since I don't like to talk during massages anyway. However I really didn't like how she couldn't warn or inform me what she was doing. For 30 minutes of the massage my butt was just exposed and I didn't appreciate that. When she was putting the hot stones on my back it just took me by surprise and when she wanted me to turn over it took like 15 seconds till I realized that she was wanting me to turn over. All she could say to me was " this ok?" " good". No drinks were offered during the brief waiting period when I checked in. In the Groupon and even on their website they state that mimosas and chocolate will be served. After the massage Laura brought me some kind of tea that was good. I realized the chocolate their website advertised is chocolate kisses on the table in the waiting area. Also I didn't receive the citrus foot scrub. When Laura left the room I realized the services were over. She couldn't tell me " this concludes your massage" or anything like its over. She just looked at me and smiled and left. I really didn't want to explain to the receptionist that I didn't receive a foot scrub so I just left. I'm unsure if I would come back here. The facility is clean and seems nice. read more

My mom and i also bought 90 minute deals on Groupon even though we have memberships at another massage place. As I waited for my time to come, I checked in on Yelp and read reviews. I read them and then went to my email to see who i had been given and was pretty psyched when I saw I had Letty. When I met her, she was much younger than I expected, but I was just as thoroughly impressed as everyone else on here. Letty is amazing! She found issues that I had that I hadn't even mentioned because I didn't think there was anything that could be done about them. It was amazing and when she was done she gave me some tips to help some of my issues... who ever knew you should stretch your hands??? I had bought a Groupon for 45 reflexology and 15 minute back massage. I was able to get a same day appointment with Kia (female). The reflexology was almost all focused on below the knee which I liked. She used hot stones everywhere. She does not speak good English but it was enough to check on the pressure and make sure I was comfortable. I would definitely return and use Kia again. I notice that their sale prices are about the same as Groupon so next time I will buy direct and get 30 minutes reflexology and 30 minutes back. read more

The facilities were spotless, and the massage was done in excess of my expectations. Extremely disappointed with management. First, let me say that the therapists are fantastic. I've enjoyed their techniques and therapeutic massages. I've had my favorites among the staff, but they have either left or changed schedules which do not sync with my schedule. Therefore, this review is based solely on the owner and his lack of management skills. A few months ago, I was about to schedule a massage online (great feature on Shiatsu Renu's part), but didn't recognize ANY of the therapists names. I had had a massage by Jessie a few weeks prior. I called and spoke with Susie, who is very professional and friendly, and said that the entire therapist staff was replaced. Okay, I said, could you tell me who's style is most similar to Jessie's? Jessie was unbelievable. His pressure was medium firm, but he would have gone deeper if I asked. Anyway, she recommended David. I tried David. While he wasn't Jessie, he was still excellent. The next time I tried to book a massage with David, he was gone! It had only been a couple weeks! Frustrated, I asked which currently employed therapist was similar to David?! Anna was recommended but not available at the time, but Letty was available. Letty was awesome! Loved her massage. She worked out my tight knots on my shoulders and back. As I checked out, I scheduled another massage with Letty in two weeks. Here's where it all goes to shit (pardon my French). I got a text reminder (another great feature) letting me know of my upcoming massage with Abby. WTH is Abby? I called the business and left a message asking to call me back - we needed to clear up who my therapist was. Frank, the owner, called back and said that Letty had the day off that day. I said, wait, I booked her two weeks ago and she was available on that day. Frank said the days off request and the booking must have overlapped and therefore, the issue. He said I could come another day when Letty was there. I said, the reason I booked out 2 weeks in advance was so that I could get Letty, it was on my calendar, and I had no other availability this week. He said he would call Letty and ask if she could come in for me just this one time. I said, ok, let me know if that's a problem for her. He said, if you don't hear from me then you're all set. Ok. Good. I show up for my massage today and check in with Sarah. She says Letty is off today. I said I spoke with Frank and that he was supposed to let me know if Letty had a problem with coming in today. So Sarah checks with Frank. This is where it gets utterly ridiculous. Frank tells Sarah that he asked Susie to call me and get this worked out, and apparently Susie and I spoke (unbeknownst to me) yesterday moving my appointment to another day. WHAT THE HELL??? I never spoke with Susie. No one ever called me to move my appointment. How could have Frank allegedly handed off this issue to someone else to resolve when he should have resolved it in the first place, especially since he was dealing with me firsthand. Frank, you have no clue how to run your business. You replace your crew of therapists faster than the blink of an eye and disappoint your clients who develop preferences for their favorite therapists and find out next time that they're gone. I am so disgruntled and will not be referring anyone to your business. read more

I have family and friends that I visit in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and although I love travelling there to see them, my back does not enjoy flying coach. Fortunately, I found Shiatsu Renu on a recent trip. They are not far from the airport, and a 60 minute massage was exactly what I needed to untwist my back after the 3 hours spent wedged into a coach seat. Shiatsu Renu is a spotless, tranquil, relaxing place where you can escape for an hour and let yourself de-stress. The massage itself was amazing, but the whole experience left me energized and put me into vacation mode. I wish I could take this place home with me, or have them send someone when I travel abroad. But since I can't, I may just have to fly home to visit family more often. =) read more

Skip this place. I don't even know where to start. I agree with the previous comments about poor management and inadequate staff out front for starters. I arrived 1/2 hour early (10 recommended) to an empty waiting room and 5 mins after my scheduled appt time a lady came out that basically doesn't speak English at all. She said 'appointment'. I told her yes and gave her my name and appt time and she said, 'call boss' and gave me a card. So I called and spoke with a man that finally said ok, well she is finishing up. The lady from the desk took me back to a room. I didn't fill out any paperwork. She said, 'face down' put a paper towel over the face hole and left. She didn't ask about problem areas, pressure. Anything. The massage table was suffocating. It was very deep and no much of a hole for air. Much like having your head pushed into a pillow....a pillow that turns out smelling like a gym locker room. I tried to adjust to get more air when I began noticing how dirty it all was. There were hairs all over and inside the sheet. She came back in to do the massage about 20 mins after my scheduled appt. As for the massage, not impressive either unless you like a very firm pressure. (Which I usually do like firm, but not a fan of elbows to the back of the head.) if you bruise easily you might be bruised. She massaged the back of my body, wiped the oil off with a towel the temp of molten lava, had me turn over and then left? Again, not saying anything. I believe it was because someone came in the front and she went to check. She then came back and massaged by face, scalp and arms then she said, finished. It was now 5 mins after my scheduled time. So I was shorted about 15 mins. In conclusion, better than no massage, but not worth it. Dirty, poorly managed, and shorted on massage time. read more

A dark and mismanaged place. I scheduled an appointment several days in advance. On the day of my appointment I received not one but two appointment confirmations: one by text message and another by email. I responded to them both indicating my intention to be there on time. When I arrived I was told that I did not have an appointment at all. When I showed both of my confirmations to the attendant, she just laughed and told me to speak with the owner via phone. I spoke with him and he indicated there is no record of any appointment. Quite disappointing since I had driven down from Denton. I don't have time for businesses run this way. read more

Seriously, I have never had a bad massage, well once, but not here. Anyway, I have had one issue here and Frank called my personally and worked it out to my satisfaction. He is very involved and will do the right thing given the opportunity. Great location in Southlake! I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and was offered a water, wine, or mimosa. I declined but I was very tempted. My Shiatsu therapist was Jessie. I opted for the deep tissue massage and let me tell you, he delivered. This was my first shiatsu style massage and I really enjoyed it. The room was clean and relaxing. The music put me at ease.
