It's easy to review when things go well - but what really sets a business apart is how they handle things when they don't go exactly as planned. I had a reaction to a facial - let me stress it was absolutely NO fault of the spa, esthetician, or anything like that, likely hormones, too much sun or some fluke thing like that as I've had this facial before. Anyhow, once I let them know because I was sure they could help, they acted fast, asked me to come back to look at it, gave me some magic salve that took the sting right out, refunded me, despite my protests and went well above and beyond to ensure I felt cared for!!! This is a top notch spa in a small town. I have been here at least 5 times for massage. Every time has been an exceptional experience with great customer service and a wonderful massage. The building is world class and very relaxing. I would definitely drive off of Black Butte Ranch to visit this spa instead of the one at Glaze Meadow if you want the actual spa experience. read more

The best thing was the girl at the front desk was very nice. The pedicure was the worst I have ever had, my toes nails are so uneven, the polish was gummy, I asked her to trim my cuticles she said she did but she did not, my feet are really dry what a mess. The hour long pedi was $60 the girl at the front desk took $20 off, I'm still going to have to go some place else and get this mess fixed. read more

Had a girls weekend that completely blew us away! First of all, the cabins are so beautiful and cozy that you do not even want to leave! The three of us had 90 Minute Massages (which I HIGHLY recommend). I had the Salt Stone and it was pure magic. My massage therapist (PJ) was very knowledgeable and educated me on the additional benefits I received from the salt. It was fantastic. My husband and I went to the spa for our honeymoon, we received the couples massage- the massage therapists were awesome! By far the best massages we have ever received- the only downfall was with our resort package we were told we receive a couples massage- when my husband booked the massages the receptionist asked "60 min " or "90 min" of course he went for the longer time but the receptionist failed to mention it was an extra $90.00 so after a nice massage we were presented with a bill. We called and talked to the manager and she pretty much stated that we still had to pay even if it was not stated upon booking - the 5 star rating is for the ambiance and massage therapists not for the customer service aspect ! read more

My girlfriend and I enjoyed an amazing and relaxing couples massage during our stay at Five Pine. I called prior to make an appointment. Brook, who took my reservation, was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and given a tour of the facility. As a young gay couple, we get nervous doing "couple" type things in public. But everyone we encountered at the spa did not appear phased at all which helped us to relax and truly enjoy the experience. This, in addition to the ambiance and the great massages, is why we would recommend visiting the spa if traveling through Sisters. read more

Out-of-this-world massage. I got a Swedish massage from Kelly, and it was the best massage I've ever gotten! He listened to what I wanted, and it was pure heaven. Facilities were very nice, very Zen-like. Be sure to arrive a little early to soak in the hot tub and munch on some nuts in the waiting area. read more

I am no stranger to spas and grew up in Hawaii so my standards are pretty high. I was blown away! Just breath taking. I had no idea a place like this could exist on the "other" side of the mountain. It was like being in an exotic getaway in Indonesia. My husband and I had an amazing couples massage and it was one of the best I have ever had, and I use to help hire massage therapists for the Ali'i Tower at the Hilton in Hawaii! This is where they lose 2 stars. My husband and I had the last appointments of the day and instead of having a few minutes in the complimentary hot tub, sauna... they had closed up everything and we just got to see that it was there. We tipped well but were rushed out with one of our massage therapists saying, "Maybe you can come back tomorrow, wouldn't hurt to ask." I wasn't expecting an extra hour but they really should have given us 15-20 mins before totally closing everything down. Don't book late appointments if taking the time to leave relaxed isn't an option. read more

Recently hosted my sisters bachelorette party with 15 girls at Shibui and was blown away by their amazing customer service through the whole process of planning each girls spa service months in advance to the day of. Communication was on point via email and phone leading up to the event, making it stress free when the day came. Walking into the spa they had everything set up and ready to go. Shibui went above and beyond anything I could have originally imagined and all the girls loved their services. I've been there a few times before and have never had a poor experience but this just put it over the top for me. Can't wait to go back! Thanks again Shibui! read more

Have been for massages at least three times since moving to Bend, and even though it is a 25 minute drive to Shibui, and I am sure that there are other great spas closer to h home, in Bend, the drive to Shibui worth it! The atmosphere at Shibui is calming, from the moment you walk through the door into the lobby. The aromas and music set the tone for the anticipated relaxation and pampering! My most recent massage was with Becky, and it was PHENOMENAL! I walked in with a sore and stiff neck and shoulder pain that had been that way for a couple of weeks - but after the massage, I was totally pain-free! Becky checked in with me on how her pressure was, and slowly worked up to deeper pressure to get rid of my 'knots'. The pool was wonderful, warm and soothing, the quiet room and the patio were a wonderful follow-up to a great pamper. I highly recommend Shibui for its top quality services and beautiful ambience, and of course, Becky, for a top rated massage. read more

I was given a gift certificate. I used it for a facial. The facility is clean and staff kind. Overall, the facility is not warm and inviting. The temperature was not warm. It is co-ed. You share the "hot tub" and sauna with both sex. This is VERY uncomfortable. If my husband had known that the "spa" was co-ed, he would have never purchased this for me. The quiet room is not cozy and inviting. The tea was wonderful. The facial was nice but for 35% less I've had much better. The facial room was very noisy, a loud fan, which didn't add to the relaxing quiet atmosphere that you would expect in a "spa" atmosphere. Shibui is a place for tourist, not what I would consider a true spa. When I was leaving the receptionist asked if I wanted to leave gratuity. First, I would have brought it up if I wanted to leave gratuity and second, When did gratuity become expected? Did the Esthetician go above the job that I was paying her for? No. Did the facility exceed what I paid for? No. I would not recommend this place. read more
