I have been coming to Shibui since I was little as it was my families favorite Japanese dinner spot growing up and have dined here countless times throughout my life. They have two floors, which consists of a mix of standard table seating and floor seating as well upstairs. Staff is always friendly and good is always fresh. They now have a special sushi menu where you can buy 2, get one free from a large selection of rolls. They have a wide variety of menu items that caters to all. My toddler loved the chicken katsu meal so that's a huge plus!

I've been coming to Shibui for years, and it's consistently been one of my go-to spots for delicious, fresh sushi. The upstairs floor seating always makes it a unique experience, especially when bringing new friends--it really sets this place apart. I recently had the sushi boat (around $45), and it was absolutely worth it--fresh, generous, and incredibly good. While I wish they offered a wider selection of liquor beyond sake and wine, the beer options are solid and the service is always excellent. Prices are very fair for the quality you get. This place is truly a hidden gem, and if you haven't been yet, I definitely recommend checking it out.

When it comes to sushi, nigiri, sashimi. This place hits the spot every single time. The garlic mussels are the best mussels I've had in my life. The service is always quick, attentive and they are so kind. I love the lay out, downstairs it's regular seating. Upstairs they have floor seating which is so cool. Sitting on the floor and eating. There's a sushi bar to eat as well and they cook infront of you along side another dining area in the back.

Shibui is a nice place to eat with loved ones and has a different style of seating if you are up for it. They have an upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs you sit indian style and downstairs you sit in chairs/booths. You can ask to be seated at a table at your discretion. The food here is fresh and the desserts are delicious. The speed and service may vary during your visit, so if you're in a hurry, I don't recommend coming here during dinner. Give it a shot and try a new experience!

I haven't been to this restaurant in a long time, and was super excited to be here. Unfortunately, tonight was frustrating and disappointing. While I can understand that it was busy, what I can't understand is why MULTIPLE tables that arrived way after us received their food before us and were serviced quickly. I had to constantly ask for updates on our orders to multiple employees, as I saw all these tables that arrived way after get their food. We did not order more than our simple sushi's and a yuke because of the immense wait time, and clear forgetfulness or lack of importance/priority to our table. Even in the end, when the restaurant was clearing out, i asked for the bill, to which we waited another 15-20 min, while i watched all other tables around me get their bills taken care of.

Shibui is always a hit with our family. They have upgraded a lot of the dining room since the restaurant changed ownership. Many more menu items added too. The only change that makes me a little sad, is the removal the large tables on the second floor with the traditional floor seating. The back room now has tables seating. But, sushi remains one of the best sushi restaurants in Miami. If you want fresh delicious sushi and great service give them a try.

This was actually the first time I've ever been to this restaurant, but I know that it's an old school one. I was happily impressed with how delicious the rolls were. We had the Toro toro maki, the Sugoi Maki, and I can't remember the third roll but it's tuna based. I loved how the toro and sugoi both gave an explosive flavors and a bit of crunchy texture with the fried shrimp in the Sugoi roll. For my first experience we did the traditional floor seating, but I do recommend wearing comfortable clothes for sitting criss cross. The service was great and attentive. I will definitely go back to try the appetizers.

I had a wonderful experience especially sitting on the floor made the experience feel authentic. The food was filling and well portioned. I enjoyed every thing we ate but my favorite was the ramen and cucumber salad. The waitress was very welcoming and sweet making great suggestions. I recommend

I love coming to this place! The sushi is always delicious! I ordered the dragon roll and it was spectacular. I also wanted to treat my self to the Toro nigiri and it was soo good it just melted in my mouth. The service was great our food came out pretty quickly so we didn't have to wait. The restaurant is super cute and I like how they have floor seating. I just wish they had thicker cushions. They also offer table seating so you can have either option.

Food is bot bad but far from great. I believe that the fishes used for sashimi were just average in quality, tuna was chewy with little flavor. Sushi was also just ok. Only one person serving and was acceptable because there was only 3 tables occupied. Lady was kind and courteous.

Every single time I come here, the experience is amazing. Came with a group of 6 so naturally service took a bit long on a Saturday night, but Yumi made sure to bring items out as they've ready. We ordered a plethora of food but some stand outs for me were the tuna sandwich, hamachi, phoenix roll, and bagel roll. I personally had the volcano roll which I feel came with way too much volcano sauce but that's a personal preference. The ambiance is great especially the experience sitting on the floor. Shibui is a Miami gem!

Shibui has been around since my college days! They're a consistent local neighborhood spot in Kendall for sushi. Service is always great. Take out orders are easy as well. I recommend the Phoenix roll - must have!

The food is overpriced for the quality. The restaurant is very tight and dark. Don't see the big deal in this restaurant.

We ended up here on NYE for a quickie bite before heading to Fairchild's Night Garden. The vibe is kitschy and fun and the menu hits the sweet spot for Japonophiles with a curated assortment of faves from takoyaki to tonkotsu and even onigiri. On this night we wanted to keep it light so we started with the Japanese pickles which were a vibrant and crisp mix of veggies. Then a miso soup with fried rolled tofu sheets and lots of fresh green onions. We can never pass up his and hers unagi nigiri, and these were perfection: warm, sweet, and buttery on the tongue. Then it was time for makimono. Sushi in Japan tends to be simpler with a focus on expertly cut fresh fish, but at Umaimon they depart from the classics to play to the American palate with ingredients like cream cheese and mango. Now these are not the most creative offerings you'll find in the 305, but they do offer solid choices done well. He had the Twin Dragon and I couldn't pass on the Sugar Daddy.
