I ordered the tuna signature roll, my son the Ohana special and his girlfriend a healthy roll. We shared and I can't really say I liked one more than the other. They were all amazing! Monday night sushi fix. Shared a handful of dishes and everything was great. Started off with the tuna tataki which had the perfect sear to it, then ordered a 6 piece sashimi platter and the Playa roll. Sashimi tasted fresh and the Playa roll was the perfect bite making us want more so we added an order of the Ohana Special Roll, a similar roll but topped with crispy shrimp. Highly recommend both. I was at my best friend's house when we found this place on Yelp just down the street and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised and can't wait to come back. I loved the decor. We started off with the sangria, which unfortunately wasn't our favorite. It tasted overly artificial, like syrup from canned fruit. The appetizer, however, was incredible: sushi rice wrapped in tuna, topped with gratinated shrimp and a small shrimp on top, all finished with a truly delectable leche de tigre sauce. The sushi rolls were also excellent. We ordered the Volcano roll and the tuna house roll from their signature rolls. Took my daughter out for a date night and decided on Ohana since it was the number 1 Rated Sushi Place on yelp. Servers were very attentive no issue with them. The quality of the fish, though however I did not care for. We got sashimi and you can tell it was previously frozen and just defrosted. It looked like.saku blocks I get from wild Fork. My daughter got the Crunchyroll, which was very good. No complaints there. I got the samurai roll which all I tasted was ginger very overpowering. I will start with the staff is very nice and the location was clean. We went on a slow night and we had to sometimes flag down to get water refills. Personally my group could skip the sushi rolls. Not to say they were bad but they weren't great either in the taste department. I think this place really shines with their soups (the fish one was fantastic) and their ceviche which knocked everything out of the park! We've eaten here before and liked it, but this time we decided to order for pickup. My husband showed up at the pickup time promised (45 min after placing my order) and was told the food wasn't ready yet. They said they'd bring the food to his car- they even asked his car color. They have fun and creative rolls with generous portions, and if you have an eagle eye you can spot a coupon once a month in your local mailer that makes them a really solid deal. Their lunch happy hour is one of the best deals and meals in Kendall. You get a full size specialty roll of choosing from nearly any on the regular menu, a choice of salad (wakame or wakame special), choice of soup, and an appetizer. They also do a decent happy hour with some great food specials, but I haven't had a chance to try it. Personal faves: Ike roll, Waku roll, Tuna tacos, and the Yuzu salad. read more

We tried the Playa Roll, Florida Roll and Dinamita Roll. Highly recommend the first two. Both rolls tasted fresh. When I walked in, the place was completely empty and was immediately sat by an extremely nice waiter. The ambiance was nice and modern with a big purple sign that read "All you need is love & sushi". I first ordered the tostones accevichados (Pretty sure i spelt that wrong but anyways) It was about the best ceviche i've ever tried on tostones. The tostones weren't hard, they were very soft and made the whole appetizer taste so much better. Then, I ordered the Samurai Rolls, and the Ceviche Rolls with ponzu on the side. Wasn't a big fan of the Samurai Rolls, it tasted basic to me as it only really had krab, tuna, and avocado inside. The Ceviche Rolls were something else. The taste was amazing. I enjoyed the white fish that was added onto the roll with tuna, and krab salad. Surrounded by "Leche de Tigre". The ponzu tasted different, not like ones you'd taste in almost every single sushi place in Miami. Wasn't a big fan of it. Lastly, I ordered some Tuna Tacos. Be careful coming here this was my second time first time the sushi was average nothing special and overpriced, a friend of mine ordered some rolls today and i gave it another try I tried the vulcano roll. BUYER BEWARE!!! Went for their Happy Hour on a weeknight and were surprised to see only one other couple. We ordered one regular roll and 2 signature rolls from the Happy Hour menu along with a glass of wine again from the Happy Hour menu and a small house sake. For dessert we ordered the brownie roll. All of the rollos were average but here is the problem. When I get the bill all the pricing of the items is completely off. I make the comment to the waiter and he is temporarily dumbfounded but then states that i am right and will fix it. When he comes back he still has items miss priced, so I grill him asking him why is there still incorrect pricing? His statement is that they are having problems with the system and others have complained and I should write a review. Well here it is!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!! if you do not pay attention to the bill they apparently overcharge you and even though they have a system problem, apparently it is up to the customer to point out the errors. Doesn't seem very honest to me. I have attached copies of both the original receipt and my corrected receipt here in yelp so you can see it for yourself. Happy hour house wine should be at $6.99 less 50% Happy hour Maguro roll is $ $9.00 not $ 11.50 Brownie roll is $12.50 not $12.94 (see attached pic of menu showing the price). I feel bad about writing such s bad review but I also don't like being ripped off. Food was average but I will not patronize a restaurant that is dishonest. If you do this type of deception on the check then how can I be sure of the quality of the food - especially raw sushi. Too many restaurants in Miami, this one is not worth the visit. The restaurant is small but has several seating areas. It was pretty packed when we arrived and I also saw several people clipping out coupons with the BOGO sushi. We had great service, but we had to ask for new water twice. The waters we had tasted odd. Almost metal taste. My family and I all returned our waters. The women's restroom requires a little more care. I went with my boys and they said it smelled bad. They were right. They had a wide variety of sushi's.
