    Pork katsu lunch special
    Gina W.

Only reason we stopped in was because it's close to home. Came around 2 p.m. and were seated right away since no one else was there. Cozy spot. Hubby had the sashimi lunch special, I had the pork katsu. Food looked better than it tasted. His sashimi was acceptable this time (wasn't fresh on his last visit). My katsu was just okay and light on vegetables. Service was excellent, but overall we won't be back.

Solid lunch. Rolls were great, and so was the gyoza. The matcha cheesecake that is fried is perhaps one of the best I've had.

Great izakaya style hole in the wall with fresh food and amazing service. Their selection of sake is also great and the prices are very affordable for Miami. We love going to Sushin when we want a more layback dinner reminiscing of the izakayas in Japan. Always my go to place.

Vegetable Bento Box. Couldn't finish it.

Something has definitely changed here. Their food used to be so good and now all I can say is that it's acceptable sushi. Unfortunately sushi is some thing that either has to be fantastic or not at all. I have a vegetable bento box. Vegetables, look and taste like frozen vegetables and the California rolls OK. The crab legs look very suspicious. In addition, the restaurant does not look clean and the hallway to the bathroom is disgusting. I can't even describe the smell. I most likely won't be back, which is a shame because it's convenient to home and was always a good to place for good fresh sushi. I have to say every day I have a lesson less patience for businesses unestablished Menz that waste my hard earned money. I could've spent these $30 on pizza then you would be mediocre.

It is disrespectful to get charge for a portion of this sauce and get this much. I barely finish half my sushi.

I ussually dont do many reviews specially bad ones. But i think in this case i will. I have been a customer for over 10 years and i had to admit their sushi WAS pretty good. Sadly they recently change ownership and man, they are ruining a good hidden gem. Raising prices, taking out sides from orders, they dont even have a menu for you to see if you call. I order a sushi today, and like I always do I order an eel sauce and spicy mayo, which they charge me for, and i dont mind. Now what is disrespectful is to get a drop of eel sauce and spicy mayo when they charge for a portion. When i call they told me that is the new portion. Please judge by the photos i upload. I personally wont order from here again and not longer recommended to anybody anymore.

    Amazing food :) always

A local Kendall spot and lne of the few sushi recs that is still reasonable. Gone here a couple of times for dinner but decided to head over for lunch. First came the miso soup. I believe this place is run by a husband and wife team of 2, but dont quote me because it was only my 3rd time there. The soup felt tasty, the tofu was soft and a great starter. Ordered the Lunch 1L. Its chicken teriyaki with fried rice, salad with ginger sauce to add a bit of zest to the meal. Kept it simple and will go back again. $14 with tip. Not bad and satisfull.

Sashimi bento has fresh selection to melt in your mouth. It comes with tempura, pickled vegetables and sushi...

This restaurant does no go shopping on ingredients, always fresh! If you see Japanese people eating in there it's because it's authentically delicious!

I used to like this place.... After they moved from their kendall dr location Sushin declined on service and actually on their food as well. After not coming back here for a couple of years, I decided to come back and give it a chance to change my mind. Sadly, I'm here to report that nothing has changed since the last time. We ordered a tempura shrimp roll, house salad, eel roll and a riceless roll. The salad dressing was just okay, and the eel roll let's face it... it is as simple as can get, but the roll wrapped in cucumber was not done well. It fell apart. Also this dish is served on a variety of fish choices but here they only had the imitation crab. Service was not good either, very slow and it almost made me feel as if we were a burden for them. I will not be coming back here anytime soon. #lastchoice.

Lovely after dinner treat courtesy of the chef! He's the best.

Overall, a great spot if you're looking for quality sushi with a creative twist and a really nice vibe.

It was early in the day so we had lunch. Both of us had the lunch special with us two meats and an assortment of veggies, rice is extra. The portions were good for the price. We shared a lychee drink and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. We loved it to change the taste of our meal after so much meat. I was a bit shy and didn't ask for extra veggies just because I didn't know if it was gonna be a charge or not, but I'd have liked a bit more kimchi with the lunch specials. The vibes are fun. They have televisions playing music shows so if you're into the kpop scene, you have entertainment ready for you. It was cutely decorated so there are plenty spots for cute photo ops if you're into that. I would definitely return here.

The biggest difference is the ambiance is quite different. The Falls location is so gorgeous and elegant in its decor as well as bigger. This location is much smaller and older. It has a little more of an "authentic" feel you could say. The bathroom situation was not as good. There is only one bathroom. When I went at the end of the meal, I had to remove the toilet tank and fix it because it wouldn't flush. I was able to do so, but it is just an older place and to be expected I guess. You also have to walk through where the servers grab the food from the sushi chefs, and it gets crowded and I felt a bit in the way. You just have to pretend you're in some authentic little NYC -esque restaurant and it's fine LOL. The food, however, was incredible. That's what made us want to go back here for dinner. We each had a Sapporo beer and then a pork gyoza appetizer. It was good.. not the best we've had but that might be unfair since we lived in Japan. But still good. Then for our meals I had the Sokai roll which had crispy shrimp, fresh salmon, and tuna tartare, and my husband had the Acevichado roll. I can't decide which one was better, but I will dream about those rolls. They also are hearty helpings at 10 pieces per roll. For dessert we had the Marquesa Roll which had chocolate, Nutella, cookie, among other things. That was also sooo good but a little rich. Our server was very friendly attentive too!

Be sure to ask for kimchi sauce on the side to amp the experience. The roll with the almonds was better than the one without so added the kimchi one amps it up. The CRISPY SALMON TRUFFLE GUACAMOLE was also good but I would ask for extra truffle. Even without these suggestions, they're all good. Great spot! We will be back. Be sure to check them out and enjoy!
