The staff was particularly courteous as one woman walked all the way thru the building to find me! Apparently I was on the wrong side of the building and instead of overloading me with confusing directions she took the time to walk to me, locate me and escorted me all the way thru the hospital and up to where the MRI office is. Before calling her I was wandering outside in the blustering cold trying different doors with no luck. My appointment was at 11pm and thankfully I was early as usual. The hospital looked like a ghost town at that time! It was a cold night and I was beginning to lose hope as I'm sure I noted a small group of vultures circling overhead at one point. Lol. Yes, I'm man enough to admit I was slightly scared picturing myself caught in an episode of The Walking Dead as the entire hospital looked swamped in darkness as if it'd fallen victim to a zombie attack! Then she appeared and with a big smile let me in thru the doors explaining I'd been mistaken. I'd come to the wrong side of the building. The check-in was smooth as silk, everything explained to me perfectly and within 5mins of walking into the office I was changed and being propped-up on the MRI machine. The girls that performed the MRI were awesome! Just the nicest ppl I've dealt with all day long! They took the time to explain everything we were going to do, what they'd be asking from me and made sure I was 100% comfortable throughout the process. It was a breeze! They had me loaded up with more pillows than my wife has on our bed at home! It was all about my comfort. They took pleasure in taking care of me, being really nice to me, and it all was genuine. They both told me how much they loved their jobs and I can see why. I'm a big believer in doing something for a living where you can feel like you've performed a service for ppl, especially those that are in need of help or aren't in the best chapter of their lives. Although I was there for just a bicep tendon I'm sure they see patients who are in the midst of just terrible circumstances when they walk into their "office" and they struck me as the perfect types of folks for those situations. Little things like that are what's important in this life. I know they def would've brightened my spirits with how easy they were to be with, talk to, and laugh with. They really do do a great job and I hope this here is all taken into account because they deserve it. I can't say enough about how cool the whole process was. My mom attended this location for an MRI, she was in so much pain due to herniated disk, the staff was so rude and offered her no assistance in getting into the MRI machine and refused to have me assist. You can do better by hiring competent and compassionate staff read more

I have been to Shields MRI in Chelmsford twice now with MRIs at 2 other facilities. I found this Shields very professional and came back to this center after 2 miserable experiences elsewhere. At Chelmsford, the front desk person was very personable capable and pleasant to me and, helpful and pleasant to someone on the phone. The MA that escorted me back as well as the MRI tech were polite and sensitive to my claustrophobia. I was given ear plugs, noise canceling headphones , music and a blindfold.I was gently and considerately positioned in the MRI bed. The MRI tech frequently checking on me during the MRI. They did not know I am a DNP ( doctorate in nursing practice) and would know good care from poor. One of the other centers gave me ear plugs only and no head phones. One center's headphones were "broken" . It was here I got a pillow case across my eyes. Chelmsford had all the appropriate and functioning equipment that made my experience an actual pleasure. Clients who need an MRI Need it to determine a source of pain and extent of "damage". It often happens in health care that the patients pain and frustration are taken out in staff. What joke this place is, they have changed my appointment 3 times due to failing MRI machines, so they changed the location of my MRI, and then today when i arrived for my appointment, i waited an hour before they cancelled my appointment due to another machine being down. read more
