The pilates reformer classes alone are worth dropping by for a killer workout at a reasonable price point. The pilates instructors are all wonderful and their workout/instruction styles vary. Maggy and Cate are two of the best pilates instructors I've ever come across - I take their classes and I walk out feeling like I am both a jelly roll and also the strongest person on planet earth lol. This is the premiere pilates studio in the area - can't tell me otherwise. I appreciate the variety of other classes (yoga flow, barre, dance, strength & conditioning) to make sure you cross-train your body. Wendee is also a certified aerial yoga instructor. With her professional dance background (she has an impressive dance resume!), Pilates training and studies in anatomy, I feel I get a thorough workout with a professional who is paying close attention to my goals and safety. The studio is friendly and clean. The reformers are authentic. Clients are of all ages. There are a variety of class levels and times offered all week. Classes are reasonable prices and free parking (not like studios downtown). Bonus? The studio shares the same parking lot as a health food store! I strongly recommend Scarborough Pilates! Susan and Nancy are both Romana's certified and are very skilled instructors. I always feel safe and comfortable while there. Peaks Island is the largest--and most populus--of which, and features a beach, museums, shopping, hiking and even a small lighthouse. Unfortunately, we didn't plan our travel here very well as we basically just got here, did a short hike, and then bounced. Only a couple of boats have yardage signs, so I asked staff about ranges for boats, and they gave me the rundown, adding that the boats can drift, and they do have to reset them, so that 150 yard boat might be 160... that type of thing. Next time will probably visit the restaurant just up the hill to eat and sit outside watching other folks swings/stances.
