I traded the California roll for a spicy salmon roll. The salad was fine. The ginger dressing was tasty. The sushi that came was pretty standard. A little expensive for the quality of food we received. Everything was greasy and my teriyaki chicken had no teriyaki on it.

Went to eat a late lunch while out of town on business. Food was decent, service was absolutely horrible! Staff very unfriendly and discourteous. 1. They didn't have Pork and Shrimp fried rice on menu but did have "Fried Rice", "Pork", and "Shrimp" as side orders. They refused to make me Shrimp and Pork Fried rice as a dish, said "they don't do that! I can mix everything together myself!" I ordered the side order of pork first which was cut up then I asked for the shrimp which came whole. I asked if they could cut the shrimp up as well, they said we don't do that! When I asked the manager at checkout why they don't cut the shrimp up and mix the rice dish for the customer the manager said with a smirk "so they can have ready and push out quicker". I assumed that was so they could prepare the next customers dish more promptly. But I was the "Only" customer there. The female server didn't smile once from when I was seated to when I paid bill, acted like me being there was a bother! Still tipped her 20% because maybe she was having a bad day. I went to use the bathroom and none of the doors had men's or women's labeled. I asked the manager whom was painting in the bathroom hallway which was the men's room he answered "last door on left". A ladder was blocking the door and he didn't even bother to offer and move it so I moved myself. I don't know how they get much business with that type of customer service? Yet they had their $100k Porsche and $100k Escalade parked out front! Might have something else going on there??? Hmmm? Idk, just sayin. The food was sooo good. A plus: they gave me enough broccoli to actually enjoy the broccoli. Most Japanese restaurants are STINGY with their broccoli . The service was pretty good too. He checked on us often, our drinks weren't empty for more than a few minutes at a time. The woman at the front was a good conversationalist. The sushi rolls were amazing we had zero complaints about that. The wait was a little long but if you have a little patience it's not bad.

Shiki's by far has the best sushi in town! I like my crunchy roll to go along with a kids size fried rice and teriyaki chicken. Their teriyaki sauce is a great balance of sweet and sour giving it a good tangy kick to it which in my opinion goes well with caramelized chicken. Unfortunately, on my latest visit my girlfriend ordered hibachi shrimp and tasted very bland. They offered to fix another plate of shrimp which we believe was the same shrimp just grilled for a little bit longer and leaving the same taste. The quality of the sushi is what draws us back to this location. read more

Been here a couple of times and generally very good. Surprised I have not reviewed this location before. It's a regional chain with multiple locations. In anycase, we walked in about 12:30 and were promtly seated. As for myself, I ordered Hibachi Pork with Rice and Veggies and it was very good. Not sure what my associates ordered but they appeared satisfied with their meal. Bottom line: Good Food and it was served in a timely fashion. Good value and by this, I mean an overall view. I love Shiki....just not this particular Shiki. I've eaten at quit a few in the area and by far my favorite is the one in Mocksville. But anyways, we took my niece here after church to get some lunch only to find out they don't serve Sushi on Sunday's. BUMMER! So we order off the regular menu and the food comes out but it jus looks blah. The steak was over cooked and in small proportions compared to the rice and veggies. I was pushing to go to Subway to save money, so I was pleasantly surprised by the prices here - she got the $6.99 Hibachi Chicken, and I got the $6.99 Hibachi Tilapia (both w/ mixed vegetables). I was expecting the portions to be really small, but they were huge. My girlfriend normally wolfs down her dinner, and she only got 80% through her meal :) Each dish came with a bunch of fried rice, sweet carrots, mixed veggies, and a pretty good portion of meat. And some yummy sauce. Really yummy food for 2, for only $14 - can't beat that. ORDERING TIP: I overheard a woman at the next table say "Last time I got the hibachi, there was all this water in the bottom." The waitress said "Oh, so you want it without the juice?" Fresh, fast, and great portion size. I was visiting Statesville and was there for about 24 hours, I visited this place twice. First night I had sushi and the udon noodles. All I could say is awesome. The next day for lunch I had more sushi and steak and scallops hibachi style. This was also fantastic, very tasty. There are no hibachi tables all cooking is done in the kitchen. I personally don't care about this. But wanted to advise you if that is your thing. This place is really awesome, I suggest giving it a try. I do not believe you will be disappointed. read more

Food is good, they're a bit to politicaly charged. Ive eaten there for a long time but recently went in to sit and eat since the start of covid. I sat down and saw fox news on the tv behind the bar. I'm not interested in anything fox has to say with how they push outright lies and conspiracy theories. It got my dad killed. I asked them to change the channel to some thing else sports related. I hadn't mentioned my reasoning for the request other than I'd like to watch something else. Instead I got several dirty looks from other employees and they turned on msnbc behind me. On the tv that hadnt been on. While leaving fox on in front of me as if to mock me. I have to work in retail with jerk customers all day. Their food is always good (Sushi and hibachi). We like it because it is close. Convenient. However, they really need to speed up service. It doesn't matter if it's during the day or in the evening. When we go at 1pm for lunch, there are usually four tables seated. The food (usually sushi) takes like 40 minutes to come out. When your on a lunch break that is one hour, and it takes 10 minutes to travel either way, well..yeah. Speed it up a bit. When we call in the evening (usually around 7) it took over an hour for a phoned in order. The girl who took our order said 20 minutes. An hour later, we are sitting there waiting for two sushi rolls, and a bowl of soup. Just speed it up a bit and it would be perfect! read more

Normally Shikis gets a 5 from me but this past experience a few days ago left much to be desired. The one across town is closed for a bit so the east broad st location has been super busy. No excuse for bad customer service though. The girl that took my order got my order wrong. And made me wait an hour while she got it right(for extra steak in my rice). Never apologized, didn't even offer me a complimentary drink or water for that matter. Then tells me oh well we didn't charge you for the extra steak... the extra steak I clearly said in the beginning that I wanted and was more than willing and able to pay for. Just passing thru trying to find a decent place to eat at and after reading some reviews we ended up here. Not only were they very hospitable when we walked in, it place was clean and inviting. On the outside honestly it did not look like they were open as we got there around 5:30p. The gentleman taking care of our table was courteous and though we couldn't make a good choice right off hand, he made sure to check in on us regularly so when we were ready to order, we didn't have to wait. We ordered the Four Seasons Combo including chicken, steak, scallops, and shrimp. It came with soup and a salad and I hope the pictures help with how much food it was for 2 people, but the flavor was outstanding. The scallops went just a little longer than needed, but I really have no complaints they were still amazing. The chicken and steak were cooked to perfection and the shrimp weren't fishy. Management needs to allow more people to work to ensure best service to their customers. We got there early on Saturday evening and waited for at least 15 minutes to even get seated even though there were plenty of tables. The issue was they only had 1 person staffed at the front to do to-go orders, answer the phone for to-go orders, seat people, and check people out. When we finally were seated, we waited another 10 minutes to get waited on. That only happened in 10 mins because I went to the front and complained. Food wasn't terrible, but I've definitely had better. Hopefully management/ownership reads this review and takes some correction action to make the service better. read more
