I saw mixed reviews but I spend a lot of time in Salisbury with my kids in theater and thought I'd try them due to their great sushi reviews. When I arrived the inside was clean and quaint. The folks running the place were very warm and welcoming. The only thing I did see was that many of the tables still had used dishes and there were only 2-3 couples there eating and that left only a few spots to pick from to sit. Not sure if the busboy was out sick or if they pulled in all the dishes at once but I had not seen this before. I ordered the Philly sushi roll and teriyaki chicken and sweet carrots. First the sushi roll - it was fresh and the flavor was really good. I was very impressed with it and would eat their sushi over and over for sure. As for the teriyaki, you can even tell in the picture that the chicken looked like big blocks of chicken breast and it was tougher than I would have wanted. I'm quite the teriyaki chicken eater at many Japanese restaurants so I know I'm probably a little more critical than most. But it just wasn't tender and as flavorful as I have seen almost everywhere else. The sweet carrots were not very sweet and I really look for carrots that are soft but not super soft. These were more crispy and not soft much at all. The shrimp sauce was not like most that I've had. I'm not sure how to explain how it was different. But it seemed more white like ranch than the orange/pinkish color you see at most places. It hurts me to write a review like this. Especially when it's not a 4 or 5. And most especially since the people were so warm and welcoming. I have no doubts that if I had complained, they would have tried to fix things but I didn't feel that was fair to them. read more

i love this place and have been going here since i was a child! really the only option for Japanese food in salisbury. I usually get teryaki chicken, but the steak was super good and tender too. I got a Sweet potato roll it was pretty good 7/10, and Chicken Hibachi very large portion 8/10. My bf got the Steak Hibachi he said 7/10 he had no complaints. Ordering on the phone was very easy and the clerk was helpful. We got take out because we thought it would be busy, but it was dead inside. Food was very good! Sushi rolls had just the right amount of rice and plenty of shrimp, salmon, avocado, etc. We had the 007(my favorite) the sunshine, the avacado and spicy tuna..all 100%.The sashimi plate was fresh with mice sized pieces of salmon, tuna, shrimp and smoked salmon. The egg rolls we had as an appetizer was great. This was our first time here but will be back! One word to describe Osaka: bland. I tried this place for the 1st time and was disappointed to find that they no longer have restaurant seating but it is takeout onl6. So much for a nice sushi meal; I am just not going to order sushi in a drive thru. I opted for a hibachi chicken meal instead. The craziness is that their location isn't the most ideal for take out. The drive through is very short and turns into an alleyway for other businesses so its a bit more chaotic and awkward. The wait time was fairly short but they didn't get my order right and gave me the wrong sauce I requested. I usually love sweet carrots but these were thin and watery. Speaking of watery so was the mayo sauce they provided and didn't want. I tasted it anyways just to see if that's where they kept the flavor but it wasn't there either. The rice was probably the blandest fried rice I have ever had and had no veggies, onion, or egg. Boring. The chicken was edible and tasted fresh but again lacked flavor. It's too bad I didn't have any sauce to add to this let down of a meal. It left me wondering, where's the flavor? So if you like bland watery food this is the place for you. read more

Hands down get the yum yum roll and panther roll. Both are amazing. Period. I live for sushi and this place delivered. Upon arrival we were greeted and sat without wait. There were specials on sushi and wine since it happened to be Wednesday. Each day has some kind of special which is always nice. The decor is simple, clean, and peaceful. Our waitress was knowledgeable and recommended all the rolls we ordered. She did great as it was all delicious. As a small appetizer they did give us a small dish of edamame which was hot and yummy. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant, I'm not from this town so I like to see what other places do different. After I arrived I was given a table and a menu and immediately forgotten. I had to call a server to place my order and their response was"I did not know you were there". The place is not that big 6 tables and 6 booths perhaps. I ordered a bento box and a soup. My bento box came out before my soup did which I found irritating. My soup was very bland, I never thought miso soup could be bland. I had to add an unnecessary amount of soy sauce to make it edible and I still couldn't finish it. In the bento box the fried rice was also bland. I actually saw people putting their salad dressing on the rice so I know it wasn't just my meal. The shrimp tempura was slightly over cooked but edible. By the time I was finished with my meal there was no staff on the floor. I went to the front desk to pay and I must have stood there for close to 10 minutes before someone came out to take my payment. The girl joked with me by saying "you should have gone back there and see what everyone was up to in the kitchen" which I did not find amusing. read more

First time ever eating at this restaurant and have lived in the county my whole life. Just left. 30Jan2019. Ordered a salmon and a California roll. Salmon roll was just that. Nothing added. Very thin. The thickness of the roll was a little larger than a dime. The wrap was chewy. The California Roll was about the size of a quarter. Nothing like the size of other sushi restaurants in Salisbury. The crab piece was so small that I could barely taste it. I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 due to the employees being nice. Maybe it was the guy doing the rolling, but unless I hear that it has changed I won't go back. Had my hopes. read more

Very good food at very reasonable prices. They have the best shrimp sauce of any Japanese restaurant I've ever had. The jumbo shrimp is exceptional. At this particular restaurant, I prefer teriyaki over hibachi. The food comes highly recommended. Been going to this place for over 7 years and it was always consistently delicious. Recently it changed so you get less food, the quality went way down, and the staff isn't anywhere near as friendly because they've all been replaced. I'm upset that my go to place is screwed up because someone got greedy and now their parking lot is always empty. So.. we decided to stop here for our Japanese instead of driving the extra 10 minutes to our usual spot. Kind of regret it. The hibachi steak was bland, even with a ton of watered down shrimp sauce. The steak pieces were so large we had to cut them before actually eating. The carrots are not your typical sweet carrots. They are just cooked. We also ordered sushi and even that was bland. Not sure how a California roll can only taste like rice. Wish we made the drive to our regular place. So not worth the $20 for take out. read more
