The overall vibe had a very "mean girl" energy, which immediately made her uncomfortable. Instead of being welcoming or professional, the worker talked down to her about what she wanted and made her feel dismissed rather than supported. During the appointment, it became clear she wasn't being listened to. Rather than working with her or explaining options, the worker seemed to ignore her preferences and just did whatever she wanted when placing the Botox. To make matters worse, my wife wasn't given any post-op instructions. She's experienced with Botox, so she knows what to do--but that's honestly concerning for anyone who might be new and relying on guidance. She also was never provided an itemized receipt, which feels unprofessional and questionable. On top of all that, this place was significantly more expensive than what she's used to paying elsewhere, and the results were incredibly disappointing. She has been getting Botox for years and has never felt this let down by both the service and the outcome. Overall, unprofessional, overpriced, and uncomfortable experience. JMarie Skin Studio is located in Prospect, South end of Longmont. Very easy to find and lots of parking outside of location. When I arrived and walked in the door, the spa smelt amazing! They have essential oil candles burning and defusers running and it was so pleasant and welcoming! The lobby is very clean and organized. With COVID the staff collected my name, number and temperature and then had me fill out the once a year new client paperwork. It was about 5 electronic pages and completed quickly. My appointment started and Jessica was very informative about what I would be experiencing. I felt comfortable and heard. My lovely boyfriend arranged for me to have the Hydrofacial (medical facial) with dermaplaning, UV light treatment and an Immune Boost IV!!! This is the tip-top package of the facial experience. My man is a keeper, that's for sure! During the process Jessica took the time to explain what she would be doing next and each step was so satisfying! Literally the whole…read moretime, I kept thinking to myself that I was already there and I should take it for the best (I tipped reasonably because I felt bad between it being holiday season and my not being vocal about the experience at the time). The stylist and facialist/manicurist were pleasant and I was told it was a salon in a home but I didn't expect that the facial was in the same space as all the other service areas or that the home included dogs that came out to greet/bark. Luckily my allergy to dogs is relatively minor. This is the first big difference from most other places. My skin was okay when done but I saw (in less than a half hour after leaving) some break out and definitely the extractions were peremptory at best. I still have some areas that needed work. What you also are not getting: calm lighting, eye covers to protect from the bright overhead lighting, warm towels whenever the face is washed off or sufficient amount of humid air to open up pores for best results. Also, the facial is done in the same small front room where there is a hair wash bowl, a nail station, and nearby is a hair station. When someone else is there, there is no possibility of quiet and the music is whatever Alexa plays (that day was medium to high energy music). I also had a manicure and it was okay looking initially but nails were not cleaned underneath, I noticed a small cut in my cuticle line, and a day later 4 of them were chipped/peeling so the "dazzle" polish that allegedly stays on extra well either was defective or badly applied. Overall, not an experience I want to repeat and I don't see myself going again. I will say it was good to have my desire not to talk too much respected.
