My husband and I both were sent to Shin for MRIs by our separate doctors. My husband for his spine and me for my shoulder. The front desk, although not overly personable, are friendly and efficient. We each checked in with ease on both of our visits. The lobby has a few chairs, however there is room for more and I suggest they add some additional chairs as during both visits patients were standing for part of their wait. Bathroom is clean, office is tidy. Wait times for each appointment were not bad at all. Scheduling our appointments was also within a reasonable time. Parking is marked on the street for Shin patients at no cost, which is nice because this area is really tough to find easy parking and what is easy to find will cost you. Only one of our visits were we able to take advantage of the reserved spots, but very nice that they have them available. Now to the MRI. My husband is very claustrophobic and told them both on the appointment setting and in the office prior to the MRI. We both felt that the techs could have been a bit more sensitive to that. He felt like he was barely on the table when they shoved him into the machine without saying a word or warning. He was not mentally prepared for this. My husband is definitely no wuss, trust me, he's a rugged man's man through and through, but his claustrophobia is straight up real. His 45 minute MRI was cut short to 10 minutes because the anxiety got too high for him. The anxiety is not the technicians' fault, but maybe had they been a bit more sensitive to his phobia and gently eased him in, it may not have been so bad. He did return a week later with some comforting valium and the awareness that he would be flung down the chamber like a dude at a water park. He successfully made it through that second test. Now he's prepared. During my MRI, I did notice that they get you done in a hurry. It did not bother me one bit as I have no claustrophobia at all. Paying attention to the swiftness of the loading into the machine, my husband was right, they get you in fast. My headphones weren't even on my ears yet and away I went into the canal. But, again, for me it was fine, just noticing it since my husband was so sensitive to it. All-in-all, Shin was a great place to have our MRIs done, the ease of appointment setting, the wait time, the efficiency, the parking. Great job with all of this!! Our only suggestion is that when you have someone with true claustrophobia, a little extra care, compassion, and preparedness would be nice. Great job Shin! Would have no problem returning... and honestly neither would my husband, he'll just need the valium and the self-given pep talk first. read more

The front desk staff is nothing to write home about. They were rather cold. I was exceptionally nervous because I was having my first ever MRI and it was ordered urgently, for my brain and eyes. Due to some very concerning sudden onset double vision. I was called into my 12:00pm appointment at about 12:20pm which wasn't bad considering they were "squeezing me in" They do not validate parking (it says so everywhere) because they have some very limited spaces marked on the street in front of the building. I was charged 20 bucks when I parked in the lot. I was there for just over an hour. The place is very clean and very efficient. The staff doing the MRI was great. read more

Great experience once you've made your appointment This center is so busy that getting a hold of them over the phone is going to be your big hurdle. We decided to go in person to make the appointment. I was very surprised that the office had long hours for availability. The office is nicely decorated, very calming, which is very important if you're already anxious about MRIs. They also have some free parking in the front. They provided ear buds and headphones to help with the loudness of the MRI. We got the results soon after the scan. read more

Getting through to a representative to verify insurance took about a week over the phone and via email. Getting a response from Shin is like pulling teeth. My wife told me not to continue to attempt to seek their services but I was foolishly impressed by their claims to provide great service. I was wrong , day of the appointment and all the reps were rude and said appointment was rescheduled. I'll never return. Shin should remove the "n" from their name and replace it with a "T" it's more fitting. read more

Was a bit nervous going in for an MRI, I do have to say the machine itself is quite loud but the staff and technician do prepare you for it. They give you earplugs and a safety button just in case. They have lockers so you can store your items in during your appointment. The staff were friendly and helpful especially in easing my nerves. They also offered me a blanket which did help me feel a bit more comfortable. Overall the appointment itself didn't take too long and I was sent into the room fairly quickly. Office is clean and spacious and they have water in the waiting room as well. I appreciated the reminder calls leading up to my appointment. They also have a few reserved spots for Shin Imaging for free parking. read more

Front office was unfriendly and didn't seem to care about the complaint I made after my MRI. The MRI machine felt like it was burning my back during the 15 minute process. I explained to the tech that I thought they had a problem with the machine when she pulled me out. The tech stated " OH did you hear it as well?" I then proceeded to tell about the heat coming off of the machine causing my back to sweat, she then blamed it on my cotton t-shirt. I explained this was the 2nd MRI of my back that I have had at this facility and this did not happen on my first visit. I believe it could be a safety issue. My concern didn't faze them one bit as they had another patient getting on the same machine before I had reached the reception desk. I hope someone has this piece of equipment serviced. read more

NB: I have to give a "1" for Fullerton Scheduling desk today, which is my reason for this YELP--- but will also give a "5" to Buena Park Scheduling ("Yeni"), and perhaps a "4" to Fullerton Records ("Lorena"). While TRYING to book an MRI with the Fullerton Scheduling desk today, I called repeatedly during business hours, and each time got routed to voicemail. (In past years, my calls were answered promptly.) I didn't want to leave a message, as I needed to schedule ASAP. I finally pressed the menu option for "Records", thinking they could let me know what was going on. My call was picked up right away, with "Lorena" saying she'd try to find someone in Scheduling. After more than 20 minutes holding (with awful repetitive musak, I might add!), the Records gal came back on, saying she was still trying...then suddenly disconnected me! I know that was inadvertent, and I called back to Records several times, but nobody answered. About 5 minutes later I got a call from the Buena Park office--Surprise!! "Yeni" at Buena Park was able to schedule me for the Fullerton office, which I didn't know was possible. Yeni was fantastic----a Rock Star!! She was friendly, efficient, with a sense of humor, and made it easy for me to text over my MRI order. My career has been in a people-oriented profession, and I would definitely want someone like Yeni on my team! And I must award "Lorena" at Fullerton Records desk due credit for her diligence in finding someone at Buena Park to call and schedule me! My recommendation for improved Shin Policy and service would be for the staff member to cut into one's hold-time every few minutes to let the patient know s/he is still trying...and to call the patient right back if s/he (accidentally) disconnects them. I don't know whether the entire Scheduling desk was out sick today (5/11/26) or just this afternoon when I was calling, but having backups for this sort of situation is advisable. I've been to Shin multiple times in the past, and they have always been excellent, so I wasn't sure what was going on. I paid cash bc of all the negative reviews about being overcharged. However they don't seem to have a register with change so bring exact $. Free parking in front marked for "reserved for Shin imaging" so that was nice that I didn't have to pay for parking. I had a wait bout 15mins after my appt but that's ok. Don't go here !! I Went for a mammogram and paid $250 even though I was quoted $150 on the phone. Two weeks went by with no result so I called the office. No one answered the phone, even after repeated calls 3 days in a row. Finally had to call a separate office and they couldn't find my file because the DOB was wrong. They gave me a link to log into to see my results but it didn't work. I finally got a letter in the mail stating my mammogram was abnormal. Turns out I have breast cancer. At first I thought this imaging place was great because there's not too long of wait to get in to be seen. But, I went for an ultrasound and was told my deductible was $150 and I had to pay up front. Well turns out my deductible was only $31. So I need to wait 45 days for my $118 refund. Then I go for an MRI... tell me my deductible is $415, voice my concerns, ask to be billed, ask to be credited at least the $118 they owe me...no. THEN I called in to ask them to have a size discrepancy on ultrasound verified as they put two different sizes in description vs summary and they told me I can't request that! What?! The whole reason I needed an MRI WAS BECAUSE OF THIS SIZE DISCREPANCY! So frustrating! Waiting to see what my actual MRI deductible was too. Sigh. read more

I highly recommend Shin Imaging Center. I have been to this location a few times, and I appreciate the quality of care they take for their patients. They are always fast and run on time, from my experience. I had an ultrasound appointment at 3pm. I arrived 10 mins early, and was in the ultrasound room by 3:02. The ultrasound technician was very kind and made sure I was comfortable. She was very professional, and took her time during the ultrasound while queuing my breathing. It did not feel rushed, even though I was in and out in 30 minutes. Even the ultrasound gel was heated so it was not cold on my skin, which I appreciated! Worst experience ever. This is a long overdue review but hearing experiences others had elsewhere for their breast biopsy has made me realize I was wronged. It all started when I went in for an ultrasound and they wanted to do a breast biopsy. I agreed and they failed to educate me on what a breast biopsy would entail, When I asked for details they were like oh don't worry about it, it's an easy outpatient procedure. When I got there, undressed and locked up my phone, they announced that these breast biopsies they want to put a piece of metal in your breast FOR LIFE. Rather than communicate this when you book the procedure (which I learned that's what everyone else does) they chose to wait until you are naked with no phone to sign paperwork saying you agree to have metal in you for life. It's like they want you to be in a vulnerable position of panic vs being honest and transparent. Then to make matters worse, they won't call for results and they also didn't send it to my primary care Dr. You as the patient have to chase down your results and coordinate them sending over the results to your primary care Dr to find out if you have cancer. I also had to fight hard to make sure I was billed the right amount. They are literally the biggest scam ever. I'll never come back here read more

Front desk staff , especially the girl and I forgot her name, are not friendly or even said "please" when she asked me to complete the forms. They don't honor your appnt time. My appnt is 5pm today and it is 5:26pm now and am still waiting, writing this review. Parking is in the structure on the other side of the street, takes a little walk to cross, and you have to pay. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE,THEY ARE CROOKS! They made me pay up front for ultrasound in May 2023. I received my explanation of benefits from my insurance company only to realize that I had been overcharged by about $100. I tried collecting on it more times than I can count. I finally spoke to someone who seemed like she was eager to help, but she didn't. Almost 2 years later and I never receives reimbursement of my overpayment. If the shoe were on the other foot and I owed them money, in sure they would send it to collections. They should be reported for their fraudulent and unethical practices! read more

This office is an absolutely terrible, disorganized mess. I had an MRI appointment that I made about 3 weeks out. The business day ahead of the appointment they call me to say that they need to reschedule because they haven't gotten approval from my insurance. Like why, in 3 weeks time, did someone not take care of that before? Then, after I pressed about it some more, the guy on the phone says hold on, he will look into it and comes back saying there was a mistake and that I am approved after all. Then I actually get here on the day, 15 minutes ahead of my appointment time, even tho they said arrive 10 minutes early. And I'm informed that they are running 20 minutes late and is that ok? So I asked if it was really going to be 20 minutes or could it be more than that. No, the lady at the desk says, it will be 20, just after the person in there right then. Well 40 minutes later, I finally am ushered in for the appointment. I did not appreciate them not just being forthcoming and letting me know when I asked that it could potentially take much longer. Literally zero consideration for my time. If they had called me prior to the appointment, knowing they were running so late, I could have been working rather than just waiting here in the waiting room. Zero consideration for my money since they don't validate parking. Zero consideration that they are making me late for the next thing on my schedule And also, no one in the office ever even offered an apology. As if operating the office this poorly is just the norm. BEWARE OF OVERCHARGING AND NEGLECT OF RESPONSIBILITY!! I made an appointment with Shin Imaging Clinic stating specifically that I wanted a bilateral imaging screening (mammogram) done. They even confirmed with me that they would need the doctor's order to proceed with the appointment. I e-mailed them the doctor's order that specifically stated that he only ordered a bilateral screening. When they confirmed that they received the order, I made an appointment on the phone with them for a bilateral screening. They even repeated my appointment request to me on the phone and confirmed it is for 2d imaging only. When I went to my appointment, I began filling out the forms and saw that the forms also included a consent to a 3D imaging. I told the man at the front desk that I did not want to do a 3d test today and asked how I should fill out the form. He said, "If you don't want to do the 3D, just don't sign that form". After receiving the billing statement from the Company, I noticed that they were charging me for a bilateral AND 3d imaging screening. When I discussed this with their billing department, they said that the form that he told me not to sign was not the correct form. He LIED and gave me incorrect information costing me an extra charge. Additionally, when I handed my insurance card over to the man at the front desk, I asked him how much today's screening would be. He said that my screening is "completely covered". I asked him to double check and verify my insurance one more time to make sure it was free and he said yes TWICE. I was lied to TWICE in a row by this man!! Now I'm being charged for a bill that the clinic said would be covered fully in addition for a service that my doctor and I stated that I do not need and will not be doing. We have called billing department multiple times. They always promised to return my calls but they never did. The billing department said to call the manager. I have called the manager and they did not contact me at all. I have been completely ghosted on their end with no resolution to my bill that I wasn't even supposed to pay for in the first place. This clinic is actively avoiding responsibility to their own customers. If I knew this screening would cost money, then I wouldn't have chosen this business! read more

I have to say that the staff is friendly and they get you in and out quickly. I got my results back in just under 2 days. But they were also quick to send my bills to collections without billing my health insurance. Never received a bill at home. Collections called me my workplace, my cell phone and text messaged me way too many times, all while trying to get this resolved, which took about 3 weeks. It was embarrassing having my employees receive those phone calls on my days off and having them ask me about it. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't come to this location!!! The worst and most disorganized office ever. I needed to get an MRI asap which was referred from my chiropractor office. They keep rescheduling my appointment, leaving absolutely 0 consideration for their customers' time. At first they will let me know when my insurance will confirm. They set a date for me which was last Monday. Then at the very last minute front desk calls me to tell me my insurance hasn't confirmed yet so I must reschedule. I told them, please let me know when they confirm so we can set another schedule. But they forced me to confirm for another set date saying they will confirm by that date. Then again, last minute, they cancel saying insurance hasn't replied yet. Then this is what really made me upset--the lady told me I have to figure out the insurance confirmation myself and then cancel the appointment and remake another one. Also, my chiropractor was letting me know that they were being a pain when speaking to him as well. Don't come here. All the negative reviews are true. Go somewhere else. This is to echo the sentiments of Danielle D from July 11, of this year. If you want an image done, fine. If you want to be treated like a patient or a human then go somewhere else, because the billing department cares nothing regarding accuracy or professionalism. I have been incessantly harassed over a bill for an image that is covered by my insurance, which took place in November of 2023. Since this time, Shin continues to claim that I owe them money. I sorted this out with my insurance and the insurance stated that it was because there was a DUPLICATE bill, and the insurance ultimately received refund. Shin believes they never sent a duplicate bill, though the billing statement from Shin to me, CLEARLY delineates duplicate transactions, leading to their calculations of my owing an outstanding balance. I have attempted NUMEROUS times with Shin billing and even a conference/3-way call with Shin and my insurance. Shin failed to uphold their end of the issues they committed to rectifying. Moreover, when I followed up again with Shin, they stated they would take this up with their staff and would get back to me, and they never do. Instead, they have simply repeatedly sent me the outstanding balance and now threaten to take this to a collection agency. Cindy Shin would be ashamed of her company being this careless. Response to the comment below- (8/20/24) It is very unfortunate that I needed to write a yelp review to get an attention from the management staff. As you can tell on my account, I have called multiple times since June 2024 and no one has called me back until I write this review. Furthermore, the billing manager has told me that she has never received any messages regarding this despite all the phone calls I've made to the billing department. You have a flawed communication system and it took one 1-star yelp review to resolve my issue. To patients who are dealing with incorrect bills from Shin Imaging, DO NOT call the number on your bill. It is just a call center and they do not know how to communicate with Shin Imaging directly. The front desk staff are very disorganized. The phone rings for days before they answer, and once appt is scheduled they are so confused as to the correct date and time they provided. To make matters worse, they say they run the cost thru insurance but three people give me three different prices and I have to pay up front. Their billing department with the company resolut is the worst. Every year I get over charged and have to reach out to the billing dept to recover cost and it takes months to even get a response. I'm currently battling an issue with the billing dept and it's been a nightmare. I keep coming back to Shin each year because the cost is lower compared to other imaging centers but at this point I'd rather pay more then deal with their incompetence. Staff was nice enough. I was able to park in front in a designated spot but wanted to point out I had a note on my car that said I'd be towed next time? So make sure your vehicle won't get towed if your appointment lasts longer than normal. They overcharge compared to what insurance says it will be then will not call you back to sort it out. In addition to being overcharged they charge you a fee for using a credit card. They said both brain and spine scan would cost me well over a thousand bucks knowingly overcharging me and then the credit card fee? WILD. As if everyone has that kind of money when everything is going up in price. It's predatory. My neurologist recommends this place and I will be telling them how shin imaging overcharged me and to look into these yelp reviews as it seems to be a consistent problem. I'm not coming back. This company charged my card twice for $200. After requesting resolution on this mistake, they indicated they could not reverse the charge back to my card and instead have to receive a check refund in the mail and it would take 6 weeks. After two months when I contacted again, I was told I would receive a call back. No call came. Next, when calling again, they acted as if they had no idea what happened and would call back. No further responses and no responses to emails. The person on the other line acts as if it's not something they are concerned with and will not provide further information. I recommend asking you doctor if they have other centers they can refer you to. I understand being a little late with a refund, but after 5 months, no response, and for something so simple, it simply feels as if I have been stolen from. This place must be the budget imaging option. My doctor sent me to Shin for an MRI. Making the appointment was easy enough. The actual imaging appoint was just fair the gowns look like they had been reused and the machine itself looked like it had not been cleaned in sometime. Usually for an MRI they offer headphones since the machine quite loud Shin offered no headphones. So after the MRI I did not hear from them until a few days before my follow up with my doctor. Shin called me to ask for some previous diagnostics which I did not have access to (why they did not call my medical provider is beyond me). If you need to have some imagining done ask your doctor if you can use another company. read more

I had a 6am appointment for an MRI and was in and out by 7:15 am. The check in process was quick and smooth. The MRI technician was very nice, personable and made the whole process very pleasant, I don't remember his name but he was so very kind. I was nervous about going into the MRI machine but they made me so comfortable by providing a blanket, ear plugs and music to listen to during the test. It actually ended up being very relaxing and I even closed my eyes for a bit while the test was being done! Yes the machine is loud but that is to be expected with my of these machines and I can see why some people could get claustrophobic however the opening in this MRI machine seemed larger than others I've seen and the additional comfort measures they give you help in making the process smooth and painless. The best part of Shin Imaging was that I had an appointment with my doctor at 3:30pm that same day I had the MRI and my doctor already had the results which was phenomenal and accelerated my plan of care and allowed me to get the treatment I needed right away. I've came to Shin Imaging for a screening mammogram and breast ultrasound and the whole process was super smooth and pleasant. The check-in was easy and the wait time was quick.
