    Child's noodle bowl with beef

If you are considering eating here, don't. Just stay away. You can make it better in your own microwave. And save a lot of money. The choices are very limited. You are not able to swap the meat. Nothing extra is in the bowl than the bean sprouts and scrambled eggs. The outdoor area is pleasant if it is warm, but limited seating. It is self serve. *below is the child's Raman, but the regular size looked the same. The spicy option was also the same, but reddish orange.

Located in heart of Homewood off Greensprings Highway, Shin Ramen is part of a collective called The Edge. The Edge is a thriving new development slated to be an all in one entertainment sector. Within this little carved out section of Homewood is a fitness studio True40, B'Ham Burger, Shin Ramen Noodle Asian cuisine, the Que-Bicle, a wine bar Corbeau, a cookie place and finally Baba Java Coffee with Popbar. So there's a nice variety. Most of The Edge with its eateries have outdoor seating with shade and many tables and chairs. There is also an area with turf and a large screen tv. Hopefully it will thrive as a fun entertainment venue. The rest of the family tried the Que-Bicle while I ordered from Shin Ramen. All the eateries have walk up ordering. They give you a "pager" to come back when your food is ready for pickup. Shin has a a simply menu: 3 apps (Gyoza, Shrimp tempura, and Takoyaki), 4 rice options (Galbi, Bulgogi, Spicy Pork Bulgogi, and Chicken bulgogi) and 5 noodle options (Tonkotsu ramen, Spicy seafood ramyun, kko kko ramyun, shin ramyun, and spicy beef brisket ramyun). I opted for the Spicy seafood ramyun and an order of Gyoza. They weren't busy so it only took a few minutes. The 6 pieces of Gyoza were good. Filled with ground meat and veggies then wrapped and fried. Yom Yom Yom. I liked the mussels, shrimp and squid. I could tell squid wasn't the freshest and a little chewy, but still edible. The soup had a nice kick and I loved how they stirred a beaten egg into the soup instead of using a half boiled egg. Yom Yom Yom. I want to go back and try their rice dishes. As it gets cooler, sitting outside would not be my first option, so I would most likely get a take out and eat at home. The Edge is a cool entertainment venue and hopefully it will thrive. I also want to try B'Ham Burger. Go Edge!

Was over here last week and wanted to try this little shrimp appetizer and left before I did. Was on this side of town and figured I would make a stop. My goodness these things are delicious. I placed the order and my food was ready really fast. I sat outside and ate my treat. This small place is so nice

This is located in The Edge entertainment district in Homewood. It's a fun area for the entire family. The ramen was good. I was happy to see that the egg was fried not soft boiled. Everyone liked the taste of the ramen. It was served in a large portion and filling. The cashier was nice and helped us to find the right dish for our tastes.

I've had so much ramen in Birmingham and time and time again have been disappointed. I went in with high hopes to the new Shin Ramen location at The Edge and I was pleasantly surprised! The soup itself was extremely flavorful and definitely spicy. The noodles were just what I was craving and the shrimp was cooked nicely. I didn't love the texture of the mussel nor the other various seafood bits but I don't usually enjoy those regardless. Lovely place in all and can't wait to see how well The Edge does!

Vegan options, cool vibe with more private seating in the back. Got the shoyu and vegetarian ramen and loved it!

They have so many different types of ramen that are perfect when you need something warm, flavorful, and comforting. My absolute favorite, however, is the build you own sushi burrito. They have so many different additions and proteins to choose from at a very affordable price for the volume you receive. My friends and I also love stopping in just to grab boba at the front to-go counter. The boba always comes out very quickly and they have a large menu of fruit teas and milk teas to choose from. Service is always quick and friendly and I usually am able to be seated immediately. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for Japanese cuisine, or just to gather at a restaurant where there is something everyone can enjoy!

I've been craving ramen since January of 2025 (literally LMAO) The ramen was rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked, with a great variety on the menu so everyone can find something they love. The boba tea was also fantastic, sweet, refreshing, and a perfect match for the meal. The prices were super affordable too! About 15-20 per bowl which was much cheaper than what I've seen previously. What truly made the experience unforgettable was our server, Accep. He was a total hoot and had us laughing the entire time. So silly, energetic, and genuinely fun, he turned a great dinner into an amazing memory. His personality alone could light up the whole restaurant, and his service was just as top-notch. We absolutely LOVED him. I can't wait to go back just to see him actually, LOL. Delicious food, great selection, awesome boba, and an unforgettable server.

We got so many things to start with Coconut water rice cake. Yes it does have the consistency of a sponge cake. It was good! I also got some Panda red bean buns. Cute and also good! For drinks: Sake, Taro bubble milk tea, and a Thai milk tea. We tried Winter Melon and clam soup For my entree I got Chicken with Lotus root which I enjoyed, My husband got crispy intestine . (My husband said he has never had it done that well-clean taste ) I tried it and it was ok. My son got the Szechuan style sautéed brisket and he ate it up ! To go yep we got sautéed pork belly and eggplant, pork, & basil . Both were also good. The waiter worked his bum off and we gave him a good tip. The only complaint were the young boys working up front who weren't friendly and acted like working was killing them. Why I didn't give you a 5! Otherwise you would have deserved it !!! All the food was delicious! Now on to the market - I like this better than the hometown market why they have many things I haven't seen including Jin noodles I have been looking everywhere for!!!! We bought many things to try including cucumber, orange, and what I thought was Mango potato chips. Nope it was abalone ! Not so good but the orange was good Of course Jin noodles , tiramisu mochi, banana milk rice snacks(yum) , tamarind drink, orange pepper spice, and chili crisp Our cashier though was joyless . Would I go back to both ? Yes I would!!

She's an amazing bartender--super friendly, helpful with recommendations and kept the space spotless. She turned a 4-star meal into a 5-star experience. * Fish Quality: The sushi and fish quality were impressively fresh. * The Rolls & Ramen: Both rolls recommended by the Bianca were well above average and the ramen exceeded my expectations. * The Rice (Shari): A bit of a letdown. The rice was too mushy/wet and the portion of rice per piece was way too large. * Pork Bao: Not worth the mention (or a photo). Skip this one. Verdict: 5/5 stars. Mostly thanks to Bianca's top-tier hospitality. Solid Japanese spot in the heart of Downtown.
