Extremely disappointing experience…read more We drove about 20 minutes after finding this store on Yelp, hoping to have a pleasant shopping experience at Muqbool Islamic Clothing. My daughter and son came with me, and when we entered the store, we were simply looking around and browsing. Unfortunately, the owner's behavior toward my children was extremely upsetting. First, he became upset with my daughter for looking at an abaya. Just a few seconds later, he became upset with my son and told him, "This is not a playground. Stay with your mom." My children were not causing any trouble--we had just walked in and were looking around. The way we were spoken to felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. I have never experienced this kind of treatment at an Islamic clothing store before. We drove 20 minutes specifically to shop here, and unfortunately, we left feeling very disappointed and uncomfortable. Customer service and kindness matter, especially when children are involved. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this store.

I checked them out on IG and saw that they had a store in Fremont. I was expecting a store managed by an employee with a few pieces from their collection. Well guess what, the store is managed by Megha herself. We discussed designs colors, sleeves, neck all that stuff. She took my measurements and sent a few designs over in a couple of days. I chose my pick and everything happened like clockwork. Her team in India made the dress and shipped it to my house. She kept sending me updates of the progress. She helped me style the entire look. I didn't have to go through the struggles of measurements online or buying a dress here and traveling with it. I was absolutely in love with the dress, the work was so intricate and detailed and it fit like a glove. Planning an overseas wedding is hardwork and I'm so glad Megha handled this one big chunk and gave me a super awesome dress! I couldn't have been happier.

I called Samudra sarees took an appointment and reached at @7pm to buy a dress for an upcoming office event. I called while parking my car, and I was told to knock on the door for somebody from their home to attend to the door. In spite of confirming an appointment, this lady was not home. I knocked at the door, and somebody came by the door ( visible through hazed glass) and left without opening the door. When I try to ring the doorbell again it did not work though the light was going in circles (probably a setting to disable on RING). But I saw another camera to the right side of the door that illuminated for a bit and then went off (Either somebody was watching through the camera - or- it was motion enabled ). 6 mins passed and I called again to let Kiran know that nobody bothered to attend the front door. She said she is somewhere out running some errands and that her mom will open the door for me. I waited patiently until 7:15 pm and nobody opened the door. I am super annoyed by this time, I saw a car pulling out of their driveway with a bunch of people and nobody bothered to ask me why I am standing in front of their door. I messaged the lady that I'm leaving at 7:16 she called me at 7:36 PM that she opened the door and don't see anybody. Wondering how can a sensible person expect people to wait in front of their door for 30 mins. the funny part is she messages me after 1 hour blaming me that I was at the wrong address because she doesn't see anybody at the door. On the day of my appointment, the mother-daughter duo helped me fully customize my lehenga and choli based on other things I liked from their website and additional inspo from the webs. I was able to pick and choose fabrics, embroidery types, straps and even the level of fluff under the lehenga. From there, desi aunties took my exact body measurements, asked questions about how Id style the outfit and what level of modesty or immodesty I hoped to have LOL Im very big-chested so it was lovely that they could customize my top for support and coverage.When I came to pick it up, about three months later, I was OVERJOYED. It is literally exactly what I wanted and fits like a glove. I also purchased my haldi and mehendi outfits here, one of which had to be taken out and a stain removed. They did it no problem and offered a discount, too. Every time I am in here, they greet me by name and are incredibly friendly. The selection is insane!! The only reason this is a four instead of five is because I do feel the price point is high for some of the off the shelf items but for custom, I felt the $850 I paid was reasonable especially when a lot of "american" wedding dresses are $1k+ in addition to alterations.

I came to Sari Palace last week at the recommendation of a friend and in hopes of supporting a local business. I came with my sister-in-law to purchase two blue-toned lehengas for a wedding in March. The owner kindly offered two outfits for me to try, both extremely large for me. I asked if they had ones that were closer to my size, but the owner kindly reassured me that they would be able to easily tailor it to my size. We purchased two lehengas, mine for over $400 and my sisters for over $500. Fast forward to pick up today. The initial adjustments were way off and the top way too big. The tailors there tried to adjust it again at which point the seams were way off center, which I brought to their attention. The seamstress then said that it is difficult to tailor this top because of the zipper on the side. I asked if they could try to make it more centered and symmetric. They tried again 3 more times, at which point I had lost all confidence in their ability to appropriately tailor the outfit. None of the seamstresses took accountability for the lack of quality in workmanship, and they tried to convince me that it looked fine. The latest iteration was closest to fitting but still completely off center per the images that I've posted. I asked if I could come back with my husband (to have a second set of eyes) to have it re-adjusted and they said they would charge me for it. Overall, I feel I did not get a product worth the amount I paid. I am left feeling like the owner clearly misled me into believing that the oversized lehenga would be easily tailored to fit me for the purpose of getting my money. The experience shows total lack of integrity, and I cannot recommend Sari Palace in good conscience. Don't waste your time or money.

Btw she wear pretty much most of the outfit for her " show off sessions" on instagram, therefore the armpits and crotch area of outfit is unhygienic!!! Listen lady - no one cares if you have a body or money. What is importance is values and how you treat other people. Instead of showing off your body ( saggy boobs and discoloration on face) and showcasing your possessions, on insta get some manners from somewhere. We ended up getting an outfit and she quickly said, you can save money by venmo or zelle, so there is no paper trail or tax issues. Let me report you to IRS!

When I finally did pick up my outfit, I noticed that some of the gold foil pieces on my outfit were missing off of my lehenga skirt. She said she could work with the designer to provide the pieces but never followed up or responded to my messages. The designer thankfully worked with me to send those pieces directly. I agree with other reviewers that Komal's communication is terrible and inconsistent. It's hard to get status updates, confirmation on prices, etc. I worked with several high-end designers and medium-end ones directly through their teams and had good experiences doing that. This is what I'd recommend that others do. Komal does not provide written invoices or payment confirmations, leading you to have to Venmo or Zelle often thousands of dollars, with limited visibility on the status of your order. It's tricky to trust this kind of merchant with limited paper trails and similar reviews to immune for momentous occasions like your wedding.
