My sister and I went to this place to shop for an upcoming wedding. This lady Komal is sooo full of herself, such a show off, and high key lack of mannerism. She judges the book by its cover. She will not even make eye contact if you are in simple pj and top. She is egoistic and prejudice. She responded to our questions with such a " whatever" attitude. Btw she wear pretty much most of the outfit for her " show off sessions" on instagram, therefore the armpits and crotch area of outfit is unhygienic!!! Listen lady - no one cares if you have a body or money. What is importance is values and how you treat other people. Instead of showing off your body ( saggy boobs and discoloration on face) and showcasing your possessions, on insta get some manners from somewhere. We ended up getting an outfit and she quickly said, you can save money by venmo or zelle, so there is no paper trail or tax issues. Let me report you to IRS! read more

Was quoted one price and then charged much more ($1k more) when I went to pick up the outfit ahead of my wedding. Given my wedding was coming up within weeks, I felt I had no choice but to accept the higher price. When I finally did pick up my outfit, I noticed that some of the gold foil pieces on my outfit were missing off of my lehenga skirt. She said she could work with the designer to provide the pieces but never followed up or responded to my messages. The designer thankfully worked with me to send those pieces directly. I agree with other reviewers that Komal's communication is terrible and inconsistent. It's hard to get status updates, confirmation on prices, etc. I worked with several high-end designers and medium-end ones directly through their teams and had good experiences doing that. This is what I'd recommend that others do. Komal does not provide written invoices or payment confirmations, leading you to have to Venmo or Zelle often thousands of dollars, with limited visibility on the status of your order. It's tricky to trust this kind of merchant with limited paper trails and similar reviews to immune for momentous occasions like your wedding. read more

I ordered a Sabyasachi clutch through the Grand Trunk and am extremely happy with my bag and my experience. Most of the buying process was over WhatsApp which was very convenient. Everyone here was super helpful in finding the prices of items I was interested in. When I went to the store to see some of Sabyasachi's items in person I was blown away by the quality of the products. Ordering was easy and speedy considering the clutch was made when I ordered it and came from India. I would not hesitate to reach out to them again! The clutch itself is gorgeous. After an initial misunderstanding with another associate, they managed to pull off an unbelievable delivery timeline and had the final saree delivered to my wedding location in Miami the day before festivities began. As an authorized dealer of several Indian designers, they are a trusted source of high quality pieces. If alterations are needed, they are also able to connect you to professional Indian tailors that you can trust to handle such special pieces. Their inventory is pricey but it comes with exceptional customer service. After the order was placed, they often responded back to messages late at night to ensure things were on track with the designer team in India. And when the piece arrived, it fit like a glove and required no additional alterations (pretty impressive for a wedding outfit). Specifically for Sabyasachi pieces, they are able to bridge communication with the team in India and even set up FaceTime calls with the team in Calcutta so you can see pieces that might not be available stateside. They also have big books from previous years and collections that you can flip through (a lot easier than scrolling through Instagram or those little thumbnail images on your laptop). I wanted to get a Sabyasachi clutch for a friend's special birthday. The person on line who chatted with me told me that it would be delivered within 4 days. Not only did it take more than a week to arrive, when I opened it, it was a different color. Once contacted, I was told to return the product ( at my own expense) so they could send me the correct color. When I'm paying over $500 for a clutch, I expect better service than this. What I arrived at was the garage of someone's private home filled with cob-webbed lehengas that looked like straight out of 2004. When the store owner came in, she just asked me to pull whatever I wanted off the rack and try it on myself, and provided zero guidance until I explicitly told her that "I need some guidance..." My saga with GT has been going on since March 2020. Ordered a Sabyasachi lengha for my brothers wedding - but of course due to Covid - I was never able to wear it. They would not allow me to cancel my order when lockdown occurred and keep a credit with the designer. I was forced to keep this order in the works as they told me "it's already being made". But it did it not arrive until October 2020 ! So not sure how it took so long if it was already being made- if you know what I mean. Anyway due to "manufacturing delay" and the fact my brother also never had a big reception, I never got to wear it. Long story short- by the time the lengha arrived- I was also pregnant with my second child. So I never could try it on until I lost the baby weight. Fast forward 7 months I could finally fit back into it and the blouse was the frumpiest cheapest looking cut ever. So I contacted them and they had me send it back to their seamstress. This happened in March 2022. March 2023 I have still to receive my blouse from them. Honestly I have been shopping Indian designer wear in India for years- you are much better off contacting a designer and doing everything via WhatsApp with them directly. I have never had an issue w timelines, fit or communication. They are much much more professional and straight forward. Than these folks at GT. My lengha is no good without the blouse!!! read more

I'd like to preface this review by saying I do appreciate them working with me through the pandemic (2020) and through changes that had to be made in last few years BUT I would never work with them again for a couple different reasons. When I received the box it looked like it had been through a lot of trauma. This could have just been due to how it was handled by the shipper. I bought Sabyasachi outfits through them and I was super excited once everything had been set in stone and shipped. Upon receiving them, I noticed that one of my garment bags (the lengha one specifically) was completely torn. One of the outfits that I had bought was not in the box. So I contacted them and did not hear back from them. I consistently asked and finally received an answer that they would look to see where it went. After texting multiple times, I finally received an answer and had found out they had sold one of my outfits without my consent. I became very upset as this was an outfit I had picked and chosen for my wedding. I ordered this outfit specially and had paid a deposit for it. Upon finding this out, the owner sent me a text that I had sent to him during a hard time that I was having and said this is why they did what I did. I then sent him a text that I had sent right after that one about how I would be taking everything that I had ordered from them. Now I was stuck without one outfit and I had no idea what to do. This absolutely blew my mind. I was so upset. I then had to buy a new outfit through Sabyasachi that was 2x the amount and was not the same that I had purchased because it is not in production anymore. Even to get a refund from this company I had to ask multiple times. I also noticed that they were modeling one of the outfits on their Instagram page which I thought was odd since it is someone's order. I didn't want to write this review because I am grateful to how much they did work for me during the hard time but selling my outfit to someone else just because they assumed I didn't want it was really messed up. If you are a bride that's looking for high end designers I would just go through the designer themselves. They are much more thorough with their service and make sure to check on you with every step. It takes so much to even get a response from this company. UPDATE: Right after I posted the review the owner texted me and started harassing me about how I did not mention that they kept my clothes for two years so I will mention that here. However I did mention that I was grateful to them working with me through the pandemic so I put the year in there to be more clear. He also told me that he did not expect me to do this as they did not bother me when I was going through a hard time. They also mentioned that I did not pay the full balance at the time but I had given deposits on everything AND have paid all outstanding balances before I received my outfits. read more

So back in 2017, I googled for anything Sabyasachi for my then girlfriend's Birthday present since that's all I could remember that she liked; and to my surprise, I found The Grand Trunk and it was near by! I immediately contacted them in the middle of the day and Gurpreet picked up. He gave me the address, I reached there in 20 minutes, we talked and settled on a beautiful Sabyasachi Clutch for my girlfriend and I was off. I came across the Grand Trunk US when I was looking for an authorized Sabyasachi retailer in California. I contacted another retailer in Northern California first, but they never responded. I' m really glad they didn't because Gurpreet and Komal, the proprietors of TGT, were a dream to work with. After I reached out to them, Gurpreet contacted me within an hour and I was able to set up an appointment. After visiting their store in Pleasanton which is a fun haveli style boutique they patiently answered our questions and responded to inquiries about outfits for months via WhatsApp. Choosing your wedding outfits can be difficult especially if you love clothes. The team at TGT never lost their patience with us and Swati from the TGT team was super responsive to all of our inquiries. My now husband and I settled on Sabysachi for our ceremony outfits and I ended up choosing a Payal Singhal for my Sangeet and another Sabya for the reception. Everything arrived on schedule and was stunning. Komal's tailor handled the alterations that were needed in Plesanton (my lenghas and gown were a bit too long and needed to be taken in), but we had out outfits in hand well before our events. The team worked to accommodate our schedules as we had to travel up from LA. We did allow plenty of time for our outfits to be made and shipped from India and I would start the outfit search early to avoid stress closer to the big day. I really enjoyed working with the TGT team and wouldn't hesitate to order outfits from them again. After a rocky start, I couldn't be more thrilled about how hard Komal has tried to rectify the errors of her way to not only win me over but get my business back. I was so taken aback by how awful our first transaction went that I swore I was never going to give her any more business. When she became aware of how sour my feelings were, she immediately wanted to rectify the situation. For starters, I was so appreciative of how genuinely apologetic she was about all the downfalls of our initial interactions. She didn't try to make any excuses. She simply apologized and said that she learned a lot and has updated her business practices as a result of our business transactions. She also asked if I would be willing to give her a second chance because she really wanted to make it up to me. She wanted me to be as happy with her as so many of her longtime clients. She genuinely wanted a second chance to redeem herself and to show me just how much she cares about the integrity of her business and making her clients happy. My mother in law wanted to order an outfit for her neice and Komal immediately sent her quite a few pieces in the price range she was looking to spend. My MIL ordered a gorgeous outfit for her niece, which arrived promptly and upon receipt, was beyond thrilled with it. Extremely poor customer service skills. I emailed about an outfit she had on her website. Never ever responded to my email. Left a voicemail with no response. My mom made an appointment to check her store out. This lady was there for 5 minutes and then left and made her mother in law stay with my mom to look around. Although I wasn't there to shop for myself but had made an appt on my sister's behalf to inquire on a potential Sabyasachi bridal lengha order, they were both very diligent and thorough in answering all of my questions in addition to giving other advice. They have a beautifully arranged showroom for Sabyasachi as well as another room for a collection of other well-known designers. The Sabyasachi showroom consists of a number of varied pieces, included lenghas, anarkalis and sarees, as well as lookbooks for ordering other pieces. Gurpreet was extremely thorough in talking through the particulars of ordering Sabyasachi, from how measurements can be finalized to the estimate timeframes for completion and shipping process, and more. After spending time discussing the details of my sister's upcoming order, I took my time browsing through the rest of the collection and picked out an Anamika Khanna piece. I wasn't entirely familiar with the collection from which the piece came from, and so was unaware that a jacket had separated from the suit. After telling Komal I was interested in purchasing it, she informed me there was a jacket that accompanied it and spent a good amount of time looking for it. Her diligence here is not overlooked! Komal was very welcoming and friendly and her collection was fabulous and everything worked well until I placed an order and paid for an Anushree Reddy lehenga for my wedding 6 weeks before I left for India. She promised me if would be available in time for me to get it fitted and altered, if needed, before I Ieft for my wedding. After a few weeks of not much response, I started to worry as I had to leave soon. A week before I left, the lehenga was still not in the US because Anushree apparently did not have any karigars working at the time! I worked out a plan with her where the lehenga would be delivered to my home in India and it was there by the time I got there. The lehenga despite being beautiful, came packaged in a clear cheap plastic bag, was missing the signature Anushree Reddy labels on every piece of the set, and had a black grease stain on it!!!! After many frantic messages and calls to Komal which went unanswered, I had to find someone to alter the lehenga to me. I was afraid to touch the grease stain on the silk skirt in case I ruined the my main wedding dress, and I let it be. I even gave Komal a chance to answer my messages after I got back to the US, but she avoided replying once she knew what the issue was. Till date, I am clueless if I even paid for an authentic Anushree Reddy lehenga! read more
