I was hoping to find a place that didn't use too much damaging heat. I was very lucky to find Lina who operates a hair saloon inside of Andy's Barber Shop next to Sip This Coffee shop. Lina did an amazing job on my daughters hair. At 17 it was her first saloon visit! Lina is very professional and pleasant. I was hesitant to go to a random salon in a barber shop but saw on her instagram that she does all types of hair and beautiful updos as well. So, I gave it a go and brought my daughter to her. In addition to my daughter having a head full of thick hair, she is also "tender headed". She can't tolerate pulling and tugging at her hair. This is why she never had her hair professionally done. She was afraid of what the experience might do to her scalp. Lina was gentle and the entire experience was great. My daughter was so happy and her hair looks wonderful. It was so great I went back the next day and had my hair done. She offered an early week Mon- Wednesday special. The price was perfect!

Other than that, I consistently paid premium prices and trusted this salon (specifically Eleanor). Last month, I brought my daughter in for a keratin treatment. Both Eleanor & the owner clearly explained that it was not 100% guaranteed to get her hair to be straight and that it's a process that requires maintenance. I understood the risk & agreed to proceed. Eleanor spent about 2 hours on my daughter's hair and the cost was $200 + tip which I willingly paid. After one wash, her hair returned completely to its original frizzy state. I took photos & called to speak with Eleanor--not to ask for a refund, but simply to understand what happened and discuss a possible solution. Instead, I was met with unpleasantness, unprofessional attitude & defensiveness. Eleanor said, "I spent 2 hours on my feet doing your daughter's hair & we told you it's not guaranteed." I calmly repeated that I wasn't asking for my money back--just an explanation or guidance. I never called back again to discuss the keratin treatment because I felt she was so defensive and they will not offer me any other solution. A week later, when I called to book my usual root color appointment, I was told--after checking Eleanor's availability--that I was no longer welcome at the salon. After 7 years of loyalty and spending a significant amount of money, this is how I was treated for simply asking a question. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for long-term clients is extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this hair salon to anyone.
