I have been researching Queens stylists that silk press natural hair with Edward scissor hand skills for months. A good friend researched Polish on Yelp and was styled by Keith and I was convinced I should visit for my silk press and trim. Immediately when I arrived, I was satisfied with the ambiance of the salon. Clean and spacious. There were a few clients ahead of my appointment time, so Keith kindly introduced himself and explained that his assistant David would take me to the sink to wash my hair. What followed was pure bliss. David was a sweetheart. Highly entertaining and has magic hands. My shampoo scalp massage was a answer to a prayer! He washed my hair thoroughly and used great products. He did not struggle to detangle my hair so my blow out was seamless. He took his time and the service was worth every penny spent. Best shampoo I've ever had. The products used on my hair were great. Not heavy or cheap. Keith silk pressed me and trimmed my hair for the Grand Finale to give it dimension and body. The results were exactly what I desired. Clean, fragrant, LIGHT, full of body, bounce. Silked, Shiny, Sheared and Slayed by the Gods. I like that all the staff here are personable and hilariously funny. I had a great 3.5 hours spent here. I live in long island and I was looking for someone who did silk press, but all the people I came across were in Brooklyn or Harlem and that's a drive for a hair do. So I came across this place and loved the pics and all the raving reviews about Keith. I booked with him and I'm so glad I did. I went yesterday and my hair came out amazing. I typically like to keep heat off my hair, but I know I needed a good trim. So I got it pressed so I could get a precise cut. Keith is amazing at what he does and his personality is amazing! Even tho it was my first time there, he kept referring to me by my name as if I was a long time customer. I love those little details! I'll definitely return every few months for a press and trim. Silk Press (I Absolutely Loved) So I'm currently transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. I didn't want to go to the Dominicans to get a wash & set because of all the heat that they use. So my search began with a silk press. I had no clue where to start. Yelp lead me here to the Polish Lounge. It was such a wonderful experience. I felt welcomed and taken care of immediately. David was so friendly and nice. He washed my hair with the upmost care. He took the time to detangle and massage my scalp. Gave me a squeaky clean feeling. Keith Keith ohhhh Keith. He was a party on his own. His joyous spirt with his customers was truly a sight to see. He made me feel welcomed and took care of me and my hair. I could not let anybody else touch my hair!!!! I have never let another touch my hair. I don't know in how many years now, had a single badly cut strand of hair. I went for a silk press on Thursday,for my birthday. I was very dissappointed with the results. By night time,my roots at the back was feeling fluffy,This is the 5th day and I had to wash it out. I tried to wrap it,but it wasn't straight enough. I guess since the stylist had another client waiting he rushed it through.Another thing,a stylist need to inform the client if he thinks that they need an additional service,such as a trim,and if they would like to have it done. It's not professional to do what you want,and then spring the charges on the customer at the end.Some of us are on a budget and would prefer to make a choice if we need additional services at that time or not. I was not going to write a review,but it upset me,that I couldn't enjoy the style I paid for,at least for a week.I'm sure other people had better luck,it just wasn't my day. read more

I was given a 3pm appointment with Keith, was told to arrive at 2:45, got into the shampoo chair at 3:25pm, got a roller set and finally got into the stylist's chair around 5pm!!! This place is so loud!!! Only 2 stylists working on a Saturday afternoon??? Paid $85 for a wash, roller set and a French roll which made me look like someone's grandma!! I ended up going home and redoing my own hair!! What a ripoff!! Keith gave me a funny look when I asked if I can be finished up more quickly as I had a flight to catch!! He gave me a funny look!! Not all of us have nothing to do but sit around in a salon all day listening to loud music watching stylists dance and check their cell phones and Apple Watch a zillion times! Wonderfully, knowledgeable talented stylist!! . However incredibly inconsistent, inconsiderate management. Has no regard for clients or their time. Mismanages the stylists schedule, does not answer the phone so that you can schedule, inflates fees without notice and will cancel an appointment you were confirmed for with 5 minute notice to your appointment. When I stated after the last most intolerable circumstance ( very last straw of having left work early for a confirmed appointment on a Saturday for an event I had planned that evening ,drove in holiday traffic only to receive a call 5 min before my appointment to be informed my appointment was canceled because my stylist was behind schedule ) that I would not be returning and requested information on my permanent hair color that was used. She disconnected my call and will not to me divulge my information. AVOID ANY INTERACTION WITH THIS OWNER/RECEPTIONIST /MANAGER) she has other ventures and treats this salon as a hobby. Clients exist solely at loyalty to their stylist, trust me I was loyal for many years. I absolutely love the nail tech here, Nicki. She and her assistant (I think) are very nice and listen to what you tell them. I said that a nail tech I went to filed my nails paper thin and they understood and took care with my nails. My nails are absolutely stunning. There isn't an extensive nail polish collection to choose from (just 162) but the colors are great and there's even mood changing colors. I got acrylic tips and they're stunning. The technique used is great too- I love that they don't file the natural nail with one of those mechanized files. It is absolutely worth the trip here. Definitely check it out. read more
