Small donut shop in the corner of the shopping strip with top notch service at all hours of the day. Big fan of their Jalapeño Kolache (jala). Eating their kolache with a fresh beverage on the way to work always starts the day off right. Especially with the friendly service they always provide. Wanted to give a shout out to Shipley Do-Nuts in Schertz - my granddaughter forgot to get the cupcakes she wanted for her bday today to share with her class so she called me this morning and asked if I could bring up donuts for her - was just going to go to the grocery store and pick some up but decided to try to see if Shipley would do their birthday donuts knowing it was already 10 and they need 24 hours notice - the lady I spoke to said their baker was about ready to get off but she would see what he said - he kindly agreed to stay and made her the donuts!!!! Very standard and basic donut shop which is to say it's still really good! Donuts are always good but is this the pinnacle of donut making? No and I'd bet they would agree. I got a dozen assorted donuts and the staff was quite friendly and really helped me pick out my donuts. I'd say the entrance to the shopping center is weird. Got drive around a bit to find the place. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT COFFEE! What a let down. I used to go here knowing it was the worst coffee in town. Just because they would at least make it for you how you asked. Today there was no line, and I could see 5 people there in the back. I can't see that being an excuse. This is the second time they hand me a black coffee. Even after I asked for French vanilla cream in it. She completely ignored my request. Today after last time I asked about cream. The last has me wait. Then hands me a bag of cream and sugar. While this was better than just ignoring it like last time. When did you stop making the coffee? If I wanted to make my own coffee I would have went to a gas station. At least Valero has every cup from grounds and is fresh. I drive an hour to work. Now I'm out two crappy cups of coffee. I sporadically see the lady who used to work there. She was a friendly face who made sure it was made correct. read more

Placed an order on Uber Eats at 5:50am with Shipley's, it's 7:28am -and it's still NOT DELIVERED! It's a "Sunday" (Dec 6, 2020) Wow! Are you that busy that y'all not only deliberately screwed up my order but it took well over an hour! LAME! Shipley's can't blame Uber Eats because the app says my order was delayed by the restaurant. Should've gotten a comp! Boston Creme thrown in bag upside down! Lemon Filled crushed! Iced Mocha Coffee is exceptionally over SWEET, can't even drink it, it's so gross! On my way from the Austin airport to the San Antonio Riverwalk 2 days ago my friend (who is visiting) and I decided we would just have a donut & coffee and save our appetites for a hearty S.A. lunch. I hadn't really eaten donuts in a long time, but I have to tell you the donuts and KOLACHES were delicious and the coffee was terrific. Everything fresh!!! But ALSO the entire staff was wonderful. I called to get my 3 year old daughter some happy birthday doughnuts for her pre K class and within a minute of being on the phone I got passed around to different people without being told let me place you on a hold or any notice. The people passing the phone around were laughing. I did not place an order. The manager who said her name was Laurie also hung up on me and she said couldn't hear me, without saying hello or can you hear me or anything. I don't recommend trying to come here or place an order. Do better people. read more

Never been to a Shipley's donuts before. This location is in the same shopping center as the old CBQ eatery. I ordered a huge apple fritter, and it sure hit the spot and was delicious. It was a little too sweet though, and I got the shakes. The staff here is unbelievable and is second to none. They greet you the minute you walk in, all the tables are spotless, and they ask if you enjoyed your sweets. I was waited on by a mother and daughter team. If they are not the owners or franchisees, the owner has found gold in these employees. I can get a donut and coffee anywhere--and this coffee really isn't that good, unlike the fritter--but I would drive across town for these smiling, friendly faces. Unbelievable. read more

Was on a roadtrip and stopped by to get some donuts since we were starving. We usually don't get donuts on roadtrips because we've had some bad experience but these donuts were amazing! I did not want to finish eating the donut cause i wanted it to last longer. Was seriously thinking about driving back to get a few more. The lady was really nice as well! I've given this Shipleys location several times to get it right and they have consistently let me down. It's one thing getting donuts that taste like they are several days old, but finding a hair sticking out of my donut after biting into it is another. That was the last straw. I will never come back here again. read more

I definitely enjoy this Shipley's location the best! Their service is above par; whatever the morning crew is drinking, I want some of it!!! Even at 7am, every crew member welcomes you with a smile and cheery greeting! While I might not be fully awake just yet, it starts my day off wonderfully to see such happy, friendly faces! They always grab the freshest, warmest doughnuts for my bag, and I have no complaints about what they're serving. My purchases are always fresh, soft, and delectable! I cannot express my gratitude enough. Your staff made my sons day! While in there over the weekend, I explained that this would be the last visit as we were moving. The staff not only not only expressed their sympathy and wishes us well, but sent a cup for my son who absolutely loves their blue sprinkle donuts. The lady who assisted me went to their closet to see if they maybe had a shirt for him. All of this was done out of kindness with no expectation of acknowledgement. I love myself some donuts. I also love myself some great customer service. And recently, I have discovered the glorious things that are kolaches. Donut wise, I like how I never hit sweetness overload (*ahem Krispy Kreme ahem*); it's at the perfect sugar level. Hands down, Shipley Do-nuts also has the best group of employees I've come across! They didn't mind when I took 15 minutes of my sweet time going over the menu and asked about the different donuts they had on display, but ended up buying regular donut holes (how on earth did they not get annoyed by that?). Everyone is all smiles, and every customer is treated like family. If Disneyland didn't exist, this place would be definitely be in the run for happiest place on earth. Finally, the kolaches... Well I take it back....only the part where I said we were not going back there. Hubby went to get donuts today and both of our local owned donut shops were closed so he went to Shipleys! Bad move. The blueberry donut was hard, dry and we were looking for the blueberries and blueberry flavor which was non-existent. Now the bear claw was not a bear claw at all oh but wait, it did have the shape. It was not yeasty, dense and oops where was the cinnamon that makes a bear claw a bear claw? Disguised in the shape of a bear claw was a plain glazed donut. Yep, you read that right. Geez Shipley's that is 2 down on 2 easily recognizable and tasty treats, just not at your place. You get one star for the kolache. It was at least decent. BTW, I should give you an extra half star because my DOGS enjoyed what we did not eat! read more

Having just immigrated my husband from Canada we have been in the hunt for a Tim Hortons alternative and coming up short every time. Until this morning when on a whim I decided to give Shipleys a try. Got him a coffee, an assortment of kolaches and donuts. Coffee passed the test and the food was a big hit. I don't think I've heard him ooh and ahh so much with each bite. The staff was so friendly and patient as I sat looking at the display if donuts trying to figure out what to try. I ended up with a glazed cinnamon twist (awesome), a bear claw (great!), a cookies n cream (tasty), apple filled (delish), and a devils food (wonderful) If you want great food and coffee I def recommend Shipleys. read more

We chose to go into the store and order our food. When we ordered there was one person waiting for their food, one person in front of us ordering, and then us. We had a total of four people in our party. We ordered 2 coffees, two donuts and an avocado toast. It took almost 15 minutes to get our order. And the only reason we knew that they were extremely backed up is because we started talking to the person waiting for their food and they informed us after that if you order food, you will probably have to wait a while. For the record, I didn't even get bacon on my avocado toast.... When we finally got our food, the staff was apologetic about the wait time. But it definitely did not make me want to go to this location again. I hope they can improve their process so that it is convenient to order food and coffee.
