Just happened to be in town and found Gather brewing on Yelp! So. Glad we stopped in. The brews were all very pleasant. The food was amazing, definitely want to come back to try other items from the menu. Great indoor and outdoor seating and super friendly staff. coming back soon

Very good, occasionally excellent beers on tap & craft soda. Food is consistently good; order the Crispy Brussels when you need a snack, chicken tenders when you're starving but only have $11 + tax.

Korean Tacos and a beer flight

This review is specifically for the winter Mimosa Flight. Mimosa Flight Apple Cider - traditional and perfect for someone who doesn't want to venture or walk on the wild side. Rosemary Cranberry - filled with earthy flavors and definitely not for someone who doesn't like earthy flavors or used to fresh rosemary. I personally love rosemary and therefore really liked this. Sugar Plum - this is super sweet!!! There is a sugar rim. Diabetics, this drink is NOT for you!!!! I had to pour it in an empty glass and dilute it with water. I am sure my continuous glucose monitor will be going off in a bit alerting me to a high glucose level. It was still super sweet for me after diluting it. Gluhwein - German mulled wine that has become a traditional Christmas staple in Europe as a mimosa! San Antonio has a rich German heritage and this complements our local community. I was excited to try this, yet the Prosecco takes away from the traditional mulled flavor. Therefore the mulled wine is really "watered down" in this mimosa. My overall favorite is the Rosemary Cranberry for its earthy flavor and just the general feeling of being grounded. In conclusion, this is a great mimosa flight for the holidays for those who love to adventure and walk in the wild side. Also, a shout out to Kat who makes sure our order is accurate as I do have food allergies and we did order some burgers to go with our flight. I am looking forward to future seasonal flights.

We had split thoughts on this place - but made me feel like I should go 3 with this place. We were kind of just hopping places and this one was on our back to the hotel. Overall it was okay. Beer was on the milder side (we liked others we went to more than this) and the sandwich had a good crunch but was overall lacking flavor. I think they wanted the sauce to carry it - and while good it shouldn't be the only thing carrying it. They have both inside and outside seating. It can be a little noisy outside due to being right by 2 pretty busy roads, but no different than most places. I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to try it again.

Quick date night eats at Gather. We've been here plenty of times but have never done an official review. Everything was pretty top notch!!! We enjoyed our drinks and ordered the Pig Out Pizza and the Korean Brisket Tacos. The pizza was INCREDIBLE!!! I've never had a pizza crust that I felt like was the "star" of the pie, but this certainly was! The sauce cheese and toppings were also very good but it was the crust that blew my hair back. Absolutely delicious, soft but the edges were perfectly crispy. The Korean Brisket Tacos were good as well. The brisket itself was slightly dry, but the cucumbers, kimchee slaw, and sauce more than made up for it- and made for very enjoyable bites! Like I said this wasn't our first visit and certainly won't be our last.

Highly recommend the seasonal Binx's Brew Seasonal Beer. It's a Pumpkin Ale. The ambience is small and laid back.

    Food kept coming!

This is such a great place! Had a surprise birthday party for my husband with 50 guests. The food was great, the staff were incredible -professional, friendly and fast. We had the outdoor area and the setup was perfect. Can't say enough good things -they made the evening an unforgettable success!

The libations were on point, my Belgian beer was just what I needed. They also had a crisp and flavorful octoberfest!! The downside sad to say was the food. Less than 5 folks in the establishment but my food came out almost cold. Cold wings do not go with cold beer (when they are suppose to be fresh out the fire). The kimchi fries were also left behind. Maybe stick to pretzels and drinks because this was not a destination spot for a foodie . I may check it out another day to see if it was just that days service.

Came here with a friend during the air show & it's such a cute little place! I forgot to take a picture of my burger but it was absolutely delicious. The fries were meh- but the burger made up for that. My boyfriend said his chicken tenders weren't anything worth going on about, but they're chicken tenders lol. The flight was delicious! Although, I can't get behind the lavender mimosa- but my friend definitely enjoyed it. I mixed the peach with the spicy one and it was great. Everyone seemed pretty nice here, even with them being pretty busy.

If you're a fan of breweries & brunch, this is the place for you. They have plenty of options on their menu to satisfy those with a sweet tooth or those looking for something more savory. We came for Saturday brunch & I chose the sweet potato skillet. Sweet potatoes & eggs drizzled in hollandaise.. sign me up! Other members of our party ordered the monte cristo and the chicken & waffles. We were all very happy with our choices. Their drink menu features beer, duh brewery. But, also, some fun mimosa flavors. I chose to order a mimosa flight. We chose to sit on the patio because we brought along our 4-legged friends. They're dog friendly, big plus! They had plenty of heaters around to make sure we stayed comfortable while seated on the patio.

Had the best time at Gather Brewing Company!!!! Love this place! I had it "bookmarked" on my Yelp and my friend randomly invited me and my hubby to join her and her pups! I immediately said yes! This particular weekend they had a special outdoor vendor market which made the experience even better! They have indoor and outdoor seating and pups are welcome as well which is wonderful! Ambiance was so lively! You go inside to order, get a number and find a seat. We opted for outdoor seating because of the pups! They have a great selection of beers and their food is amazing!! I ordered the kids portion French toast and wish I would've ordered the regular size because i demolished it! I'm surprised I got a quick picture of it! lol I felt terrible because I didn't even leave a bite for my hubby to try! My friend ordered the steak and eggs and she shared. The steak came with a delicious chimichurri sauce! It also came with a side of seasoned wedge fries that I absolutely loved and I'm getting for myself next time I visit! Staff was absolutely wonderful! Ginny (manager) came by to get our trays and was chatting with us about the market and other events they host! I love how they bring the community together! This place is overall so wonderful! We can't wait to return! Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Gather Brewing Company

As an enjoyer of cigars with a good beer/cocktail; is there an area to have a cigar while enjoying a beer?

Mike, thank you for reaching out!! There are plans for that type of setup in the future but as of right now, there is not a place to enjoy a beer and a cigar.

Do you have a kid play space?

    Yes, a small area outside.

Can we bring small dogs under 20 lbs?

We ask that service dogs only be brought indoors since we are also a restaurant, but all dogs are welcome on the patio!

Do they have TVs for football games?

I’m sorry, but we have no TV’s at Gather. :)

My wife enjoyed her salad and I thought my meal was very delicious. The chicken patty was huge, crispy and very tasty. The garlic biscuit and coleslaw looked homemade and was very delicious. The French fries were very crispy and tasty and looks like it was made from fresh cut potatoes. Overall experience was excellent. We will definitely come back here for lunch and dinner. When we arrived, however, we were told it would actually be closer to a 30 min wait, which was disappointing. We had a party of 5 and were seated at a small square table that seemed intended for 4 guests. They simply added an extra chair, leaving very little room for everyone to eat comfortably. It felt cramped and made the dining experience frustrating from the start. We ordered the Gringo queso and chips as an appetizer and that was definitely a highlight. The queso had good flavor and was enjoyable. For my meal, I ordered the Rattlesnake Pasta and unfortunately was not impressed. While it had some spice to it, the sauce itself lacked flavor. The garlic bread served alongside it was also disappointing it smelled and tasted like cardboard. Overall, I was not pleased with my experience. Between the inaccurate wait time, cramped seating, and underwhelming entrée, it wasn't a place I'd be eager to return to.

That's odd because it is open-seating without a hostess stand. I'm glad we just rolled with it. Also, seating is quite limited, even with the patio. We walked around twice before another couple got up, and we grabbed their seats. Now, with no hostess, this is a recipe for exactly what happened to us. No one came by the table for well over ten minutes (possibly fifteen). Once they did, we had very attentive service. None of that changes the fact that the guy who told us to "sit anywhere" walked past us four times without acknowledging our presence. The food is only average. The schnitzel appetizer was unseasoned and tough. The fried bologna sandwich for my wife was extremely good. She was not as fond of the potato salad. It did not really look like it was picking a side - neither German-style nor southern. She said it had some characteristics of German-style, but there was a definite mayo-based dressing. As for my pastrami sandwich...the pastrami was quite good. Honestly, I do not understand why it is so hard to find good pastrami in a state like Texas (you know, with such an historical mix of cultures that virtually spread it across the globe). This pastrami came in at a solid B. The remainder of the sandwich was completely awful. Tough bread, minimal cheese. I don't eat rotted cabbage (sauerkraut) or thousand island, so I put mayo on the sandwich. As a side note, whoever writes the menu should know that a sandwich with those four components is called a "Reuben," rather than "pastrami sandwich." Anyway, good beer, as should be the case with any brew-pub kind of place. The location is on a narrow, residential street. There is really only street parking, so you REALLY have to want to come here to deal with that level of nonsense. It was an interesting visit, but definitely not worth a return. Ever.

The main entrance is on the side street but is also accessible from Castell Ave. I can see enjoying another evening here!

They have a full bar which is nice if thats your thing. The inside bar was vey small and intimate. I definitely recommend stopping in and supporting a local small business!

Beer, wine and pizza...what's not to love about The Growler Exchange?…read more For those of you who have never been to this amazing business before, The Growler Exchange is a tap room and restaurant which carries a huge variety of unique beers, as well as some of the most delicious pizza you've ever had in your life. I've been a regular at this restaurant for 5 years and I can tell you that quality has stayed the same throughout the years. I also appreciate that they now have a bigger variety of wines and you can also buy beer and wine to-go. If you are looking to try their amazing pizza, their most popular pie (and my husband's favorite) is their Mike's Special which is a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon and topped with honey drizzle. However, if you prefer something spicy (like I do), I highly recommend their Spicy Meat Sweats which is also a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, garlic sausage, pepperoni, salami, bacon and topped with some very spicy chili oil. Hope everyone gets to try this amazing local business, and don't forget to bring your growler with you! PSA for the parents: They do welcome kids, and they even have a changing station in the women's bathroom.
