Such a fun place right outside the gate of Randolph AFB! We stopped in randomly one Friday night to grab a bite to eat and had our baby with us, so we decided to sit out on the patio. There was a musician singing and playing guitar, and he was really good, which made the atmosphere even better. The drinks were great and the food was even better. We ordered wings and a pizza and really enjoyed both. It also felt very family-friendly. There's a small play area just off the outside deck, and several kids were down there playing, which was nice to see. The highchairs can be a little hard to spot, but they do have them inside near the restrooms. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll definitely be coming back! read more

This was our first time here. We arrived on the later side of the evening (8:30 pm) and were a little surprised to learn that the kitchen closes at 9pm. We had planned to have a few drinks before grabbing dinner but we didn't plan the timing correctly. No biggie...regardless, the food was pretty solid! Both the kimchi fries and dumplings offered a unique taste that sit differently than most other places. It was a pleasant different though. This place is legit and fascinating! It's like you're dining in a factory because of the huge brewing tanks in the room. So if you're into fresh brewed specialty beers and such, this is the spot. But I'd rather eat my calories than drink them so I stick with the delicious food!! My first visit was two Sundays ago. I can vouch for the giant pretzel. Best I've ever had!! And the boar burger on a yummy slow dough bun and the brussel sprouts! All excellent quality with unique flavor mixes. So delicious! So filling! Great for just hanging out and families. read more

We paid a visit after seeing them on TV. My husband had the single patty smash burger and I had the fish and chips. Burger was DELICIOUS, cod was good. Both orders of fries were a notch above cold. The are probably really good hot. They have indoor and outdoor seating with lots of fans that actually keep you cool. The service is minimalist. No one is going to ask how your meal was, do you want a refill, or anything else. This is a brewery first and foremost and with a group of friends might be a great place to unwind. read more

This review is specifically for the winter Mimosa Flight. Mimosa Flight Apple Cider - traditional and perfect for someone who doesn't want to venture or walk on the wild side. Rosemary Cranberry - filled with earthy flavors and definitely not for someone who doesn't like earthy flavors or used to fresh rosemary. I personally love rosemary and therefore really liked this. Sugar Plum - this is super sweet!!! There is a sugar rim. Diabetics, this drink is NOT for you!!!! I had to pour it in an empty glass and dilute it with water. I am sure my continuous glucose monitor will be going off in a bit alerting me to a high glucose level. It was still super sweet for me after diluting it. Gluhwein - German mulled wine that has become a traditional Christmas staple in Europe as a mimosa! San Antonio has a rich German heritage and this complements our local community. I was excited to try this, yet the Prosecco takes away from the traditional mulled flavor. Therefore the mulled wine is really "watered down" in this mimosa. My overall favorite is the Rosemary Cranberry for its earthy flavor and just the general feeling of being grounded. In conclusion, this is a great mimosa flight for the holidays for those who love to adventure and walk in the wild side. Also, a shout out to Kat who makes sure our order is accurate as I do have food allergies and we did order some burgers to go with our flight. I've been to Gather twice and can't believe I waited this long to write a review! I love, love, love this place! The beers, the food, the space...all fantastic! My favorite beer is the Trilogy ( a Belgian tripel) and my son's is the Brew SA ( American IPA). We promise to try something else next time we're there! We've only had the (giant) pretzel, and it's amazing with the beer cheese and caramel. Service is always friendly and welcoming. The space is large and spacious, with cute resident kitties outside! We had split thoughts on this place - but made me feel like I should go 3 with this place. We were kind of just hopping places and this one was on our back to the hotel. Overall it was okay. Beer was on the milder side (we liked others we went to more than this) and the sandwich had a good crunch but was overall lacking flavor. I think they wanted the sauce to carry it - and while good it shouldn't be the only thing carrying it. They have both inside and outside seating. It can be a little noisy outside due to being right by 2 pretty busy roads, but no different than most places. I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to try it again. read more

Quick date night eats at Gather. We've been here plenty of times but have never done an official review. Everything was pretty top notch!!! We enjoyed our drinks and ordered the Pig Out Pizza and the Korean Brisket Tacos. The pizza was INCREDIBLE!!! I've never had a pizza crust that I felt like was the "star" of the pie, but this certainly was! The sauce cheese and toppings were also very good but it was the crust that blew my hair back. Absolutely delicious, soft but the edges were perfectly crispy. The Korean Brisket Tacos were good as well. The brisket itself was slightly dry, but the cucumbers, kimchee slaw, and sauce more than made up for it- and made for very enjoyable bites! We really enjoy Gather ever since it opened. It has a good sized indoor (can get loud) and decent sized outdoor door area, the service has always been good even exceptional at times. We really like their chicken lettuce wraps, gather fries and chicken tenders with their Korean sauce. They always have a waffle of the month which usually is spot on. Had the best time at Gather Brewing Company!!!! Love this place! I had it "bookmarked" on my Yelp and my friend randomly invited me and my hubby to join her and her pups! I immediately said yes! This particular weekend they had a special outdoor vendor market which made the experience even better! They have indoor and outdoor seating and pups are welcome as well which is wonderful! Ambiance was so lively! You go inside to order, get a number and find a seat. We opted for outdoor seating because of the pups! They have a great selection of beers and their food is amazing!! Been a while since we have been to Gather but after a morning spent exploring Gruene where the weather was a lot colder than the local news suggested - stopped her for some warm comfort pub food! We arrived at 1:30 - which has their 'all day ' menu which essentially means brunch is over, regular menu is not live so it's a very paired down menu - but good thing being that the regular menu returned at 2pm Enjoyed some of their IPAs - Hazy one was great - Main Squeeze! My absolute stand out here was the Brussels sprouts with goats cheese, cranberries and pecans! They were crispy and delicious! Also liked their fries which were more of a potato wedge - had a couple of dips - gather sauce was great but the truffle ( and I love anything truffle ) tasted overwhelmingly of white pepper for some odd reason !! Meat eaters loved the wings and my daughter enjoyed the skillet cookie - though it is seriously rich and we did not finish it!! It's also pet and kid friendly. The food: They have quite a few Korean inspired fusion options, such as the loaded kimchi fries topped with tasty brisket, mayo, beer cheese and (of course) kimchi. I didn't think I was a kimchi fan before, but OMG, the combination of these flavors are the bomb diggity - this is my favorite item on their menu. My second favorite is the Korean tacos. They are topped with a creamy sweet sauce, with just a *bit* of tartness. These are sooo good. They also offer a decent selection of traditional food fare, such as juicy burgers, pizza, and chicken sandwiches. Bottom line is, there is something for everyone at this family friendly joint. Let's not forget the beers - they have a little bit of something for everyone here. The Red Rider Ale is my favorite. It's perfectly balanced - not overly malty and it has a smooth finish. I love it! Next up is their pilsner - it seems to lean more toward the smooth lager side of things and doesn't have too much of a hoppy taste like some pilsners have. It's light and crispy. My husband and I were in the area, not really knowing where to go eat before heading to a high school football game. We live in Buda, just outside Austin, so we searched and found a few places, deciding to give Gather Brewing Company a shot. Boy, are we so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by staff who eagerly made recommendations to us since it was our first time there. Well, we didn't get to try everything, their Smashburger was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Definitely going back for that burger. The Asian pizza was delicious, the wings were absolute perfection and my husband really loved the Main Squeeze hazy IPA. We were in luck since it wasn't crazy busy, being that it was Halloween night. But even if they are busy, we will definitely be bringing our whole family to come and try it. Oh, and their Belgian waffle dessert, to die for! Disappointed by the Inconsistency and... Cats? I really wanted to like Gather Brewing Company, but after multiple visits, I just can't ignore the inconsistency. The food is hit or miss--sometimes it's decent, but other times it's just not up to par. You never really know what you're going to get, which is frustrating when you're paying for a meal. The service is fine, but the real issue for me is the atmosphere. This place is now overrun with cats. I'm all for a pet-friendly environment, but it's gotten out of control. They're everywhere, and it's honestly infuriating when you're just trying to enjoy your food without constantly shooing them away. It's a shame because this place had potential, but between the unpredictable food quality and the overwhelming cat situation, I just can't recommend it anymore. read more
