We ordered two iced coffees, and My Husband told the girl at the window to please make them extra extra sweet she said OK. By the way, she was not talkative at all, and she had little blue stars, stuck all over her face and did not make very much eye contact and she didn't talk very much & she didn't smile . I ordered the iced medium Carmelo and it literally had no sweetener in it at all. It was very plain. I asked her if she could please add some simple syrup into it to make it sweet. She took it from My Husband, went over to another lady that was making drinks and said something about having to add simple syrup into my drink. She wasn't happy about it. It was obvious by what she was saying and the look on her face. This is very poor customer service. We usually go to on the grind on Walzem Road where we get exemplary service, and I will not be coming back to this on the grind ever again. My current go-to coffee joint! Gotta love supporting a local and successful Texas business! No matter how long the line is, I can get in and out of there in less than 5 minutes every time! The service is always kinder than kind. Every time I leave, I drive away thinking, "Dang, they were nice" haha. My coworkers and I are obsessed with it. Large americano with steamed heavy whipping cream. I can only assume that there is no right way to make this since it comes out different nearly every time I order. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt and say maybe it was an off day for the barista...but just way too many off days. Makes this 2 hour drive depressing. So my choices for americanos gets smaller and smaller since I stopped going to Starbucks and now OTG. I've had the "Mexican Mocha, Hawaiian, and Big Tex", and I didn't have to add extra sugar, cinnamon or any other type of flavor and each was exquisite. The Mexican Mocha is a spiced cinnamon mocha. This wonderful little drive-through coffee shop chain is a cheaper and quality alternative to the more expensive standard places. On The Grind seems to focus on fancy/sweet coffees and such, including chai tea and milkshakes, but simple black coffees are available. The menu is smallish but still has plenty of options and potential modifications to those options. There are several unique combinations and possible additions, at least in my experience. What I've tried had very good flavor -- definitely equal to or better than options from more established competitors, but cheaper as the prices here are excellent. The staff members are friendly and efficient. FYI, the process is to drive up to one of the two windows (serving different directions), order and pay, wait a minute for the staff to make your drinks, and then you're on your way. read more
