Also this "store" was listed under thrift shops. As we entered, we saw that in the back there are a few areas with vintage items and some antiques. But the place is more of a collection of artisan offerings -- each with their own area -- of everything from jewelry to painted signs, gifts and tourist things. Housewares to home decor; bric a brac to collectibles. Handmade and custom creations. The staff is quite nice. The store is fun to browse. And the kind of place to look for a unique gift for that someone who has everything.

There are far, far too many shells for that and the teeth are all white, they aren't fossils. This store makes a profit from their teeth and shells. When I asked the lady behind the counter how she acquired the shark jaws, she wasn't sure but "it is probably a good thing that so many sharks are killed." What a disgusting mindset. This place shouldn't profit from the death and destruction of the marine life that surrounds it, and it would be nice if the employees were more educated.

This is a really cool area to walk around and explore while on Amelia Island. There are tons of…read morerestaurants, bars, gift shops, and art galleries within 50 blocks. The buildings have such beautiful architecture. They have a courthouse, post office, and a hotel that were built over a hundred years ago. The Palace Saloon is Florida's oldest bar. There is also a lighthouse nearby the district. My favorite thing to do was to grab a cup of coffee and walk in and out of gift shops. I also took strolls along the seaport and watched the boats go by. If you want to know more about the area, you can visit the Amelia Island Museum of History to learn more about its history. For food, there are plenty of dining options within the historic district. I highly recommend eating at the Salty Pelican. The Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

My aunt and I visited the Jacksonville Seashells & Souvenirs store, and unfortunately, we felt racially profiled during our visit. We had been in the store for less than five minutes, simply browsing, when an employee approached us and asked if we were finding everything okay. After that, he continued to follow us down the aisles and stared at us in a way that made us feel very uncomfortable. We no longer felt comfortable making a purchase so we decided to leave but as we were leaving the store, the employee stopped us and requested to check our purses. He then threatened to call his manager and the police if we did not comply. What made the situation even more upsetting was that there were several other customers in the store, and none of them were approached, followed, or asked to have their belongings checked. The entire experience was embarrassing, humiliating, and left us feeling singled out. The employee claimed that purse checks are always required, but based on what we observed, that policy did not appear to be applied equally to all customers. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this store. No customer should feel targeted or accused of wrongdoing simply while shopping!!!
