Waiting game
Dan J.

I like this doctor. I like his staff. What I don't like are the wait times. Every time I've come here their lobby is packed with people and I end up waiting at least a half hour over my scheduled appointment time 35 minutes and counting today. The doctor is a very laid back guy who really seems to care about you and the staff is always super friendly with me. And so, I wait.

Waiting room time is very quick and impressive. Dr. Regina takes her time listening while assessing you. Her professional calm demeanour puts you at ease; thus allowing you to not feel embarrassed when discussing your issue(s). Dr. Regina provides options of treatment, allowing you time to make your own decisions without feeling pressured. I recently lost my private health insurance, as well as loss of income. However I am able to continue my health care because Dr. Regina's office focus is 'health over finance' . I highly recommend this Dr and her caring staff!

I'm writing another review because I'm looking for another Urologist and this came back as a reminder. 1. I am grateful that Dr. Hovey was able to remove my kidney stone and in a safe manner. She was also very nice to me. 2. However, I waited a very very long time for the procedure. I had a stent in for 4 months and it was the most painful 4 months of my life pre and post-op. 3. Office staff is not friendly and not very helpful at all. I still have not received results from my lab from 2 years ago. My primary doctor had trouble getting a hold of someone to provide that information. I told my primary doctor to just give up because I did. I really wish the office staff was more friendly and organized and that the waiting time to be seen or have a procedure done was shorter considering the amount of pain I was in. I was on Norco for 4 months. Nobody should be on pain meds for that long. I was unable to do my job as a mother for my young child for 4 months. I really wish I can get that time back but it's too late and there's nothing I can do about it.

Just had an "appointment" at this office for my mother earlier today. Honestly, the worst…read moreexperience I've ever had with a doctor, doesn't even deserve one star. We had to make an appointment almost 2 months ago, which is a super long time to have to wait. When we got to the office, we waited for over an hour after our appointment time for the doctor to come in. My mother had a severe stroke a few years ago that affected her speech and memory; she has a hard time remembering her name and her own birthday most of the time, so naturally I take care of all her medical needs, remembering doctors, medicines, prescriptions, etc. He came in and started asking my mother questions about the referring doctor and what she was there for, which she can't easily remember or articulate, so I told him that I could answer for her because she doesn't know the answers. Instead of taking that for what it was, he got closer to her and took his mask off (!!!), speaking to her less than 2 feet from her face. I asked him if he could please put his mask back on and he said he needed it off to be able to speak with my mother, despite the fact that I told him that I could answer his questions and that she could not. My mother is in her 60s, in a wheelchair, and has a few medical problems, so I really didn't appreciate him taking off his mask so close to her. When he finally turned to start asking me about why we came for the appointment and her symptoms, he kept cutting me off after every first word I said. He asked me "how (I) knew" a past diagnosis from our primary doctor was correct, even after I had told him that our primary had had multiple urine tests done that indicated what it was. Mind you, this is also not what we were referred here regarding, he never let me get that far. He also said that what I was saying was a "sign" not a "symptom" and that he didn't want to know about that, he wanted to know if my mother had experienced "x, y, and z", which I don't know why he didn't just ask about that directly rather than beating around the bush with a vague question. In the end, after he kept cutting me off, I simply asked if we could just get a new doctor and he said "Fine! Get a new doctor!" and stormed out of the room. Good riddance, honestly. Absolute worst doctor I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. As a minor aside, the office was very messy, disorganized, and dirty looking as well. Needless to say, avoid at all costs!

I had a very frustrating experience with The Clark Center Surgery…read more I needed to reschedule my surgery due to nerves and wanting more time to fully understand the risks. That is when I was told about a $500 cancellation fee within two weeks, something that was never clearly communicated. My entire scheduling process was handled through text, not a single phone call, and even at my pre op appointment exactly two weeks before surgery, this fee was never mentioned. When I called, I was repeatedly told "it is the policy" without any real explanation. I asked to speak to a manager, and the assistant administrator, Shannon, called me back. Unfortunately, she was very difficult to deal with. Her tone was stern and dismissive, and I barely had a chance to explain my concerns before she said, "Angela, it is our policy," speaking slowly in a way that felt condescending. I explained that I was not calling to argue that they have policies. My concern was the lack of communication and the fact that everything was scheduled so close to that two week window. I asked to speak with the administrator since she reports to them, but she refused and said, "No, this is my job, and no one will be calling you back." At one point, she also said, "Well, I am going to charge your credit card on file," which was completely inappropriate. I fully understand that offices have policies, but this is surgery, clear communication matters. Patients should not be expected to rely on fine print from an initial visit when surgery was not even planned yet. Even on my preop, it was not mentioned. I do want to say Dr. Clark and Carrie have been great, but because of how this was handled, I will not be returning.
