Somehow lost (or perhaps the woman at the laundromat threw away) the insoles to my daughter's Tsukihoshi shoes and I needed to get some new sneakers right away. The woman showed me to the sizes I needed and showed me a pair, but wasn't able to offer much help--when I mentioned I thought I'd check a bigger size she pointed out but said she needed to go clean up. I guess this is the difference between coming to a place like this and visiting a place like Carrara Children's Shoes, where there's a larger selection and considerably superior service. But I got a cute pair of New Balance shoes for the little one, and it was helpful that the saleswoman mentioned they have a wider toe box than a brand like Nike, which is better for little feet (and it also made me realize why I don't like Nike shoes). I took my 9 year old daughter to get gym shoes. The selection was low. Many shelves were completely bare. The kids section is very small and didn't have many shoes in size 3. The selection was scarce. We asked a worker to size her feet but he said he only had a sizer for infants so he eyeballed her shoe size. He was a really nice guy, but seems like this location was very limited. The prices were too high for some of the shoes as well. Also, this location was very dark inside. A lot of the lights weren't on or working. Seems really run down. If I had to guess, I would say this location is close to closing their doors, but if not, then they really should. read more

My mother bought a pair of crocs from here and when she got to the register she took off the ones she came with and put them in the box that had the crocs in them and told the employee at the register that she wants to wear the crocs out and she will keep the shoes she wore there so the woman said ok upon getting home the shoes she had worn there weren't in the bag so my mom called the store and spoke to the manager and told her they were at the store and to come in the next day they will have them on the side for her so my dad went to the store the next day and was told they had been thrown out it's outrageous that it happened and no apology or resolution for it at least give a store credit or something to compensate for what had happened. I was looking for some shoes for my wife and my self I ask for help and I was completely ignore then a orderly couple ask for help and they were ignore too a young kid that was whit the couple grab a latter and try to get the shoes, the same employees that ignore me and ignore the couple when they ask for help said to the couple they can not do that in a strong way and the lady say if someone help I don't have to do this the employees when nuts and start talking really loud and told they are not allow in this store that they need to leave. This place is golden. Brittany amd Katie ( the manager) assisted me for over an hour. Brittany greeted me. I asked her for help. She listened to me with my concerns. She made suggestions. I really like this store. Some employees are rude, but the shoe prices are normally pretty great! Like one time I found a coupon on retailmenot, and the one girl was being so rude about it since I couldn't find it at first. She said, "Um, its okay if you don't see them because we can't use them if they don't ring up anyways." Little did she know I used the coupons before and they worked and after I found that one, it worked so boohoo to her. I'm a poor college graduate, so let me use my damn coupon in peace, lady. My boyfriend bought two pairs of Nike gym shoes for B1G1 half off and he was very happy... especially because Nike's can get expensive. I've gotten Sperry's, Nike's, Vans, and Bear Claw sandals pretty cheap here, and I love coming in here whenever I have some extra cash to spend. This store is huge and has a large inventory of each shoe they sell. I've never had a problem finding my size (between a 7.5 and 8.5 depending on the shoe). read more

Too hyped. My mom went to Shoe Carnival to buy a pair of shoes and her size is pretty common. She couldn't find one pair in her size at that location. Also their prices are not that deeply discounted. The ones that are on sale are styles that no one wants. Also not the greatest service if you look at all the employees in there. Hardly any help. I was gifted a pair of boots , came to this location to get an exchange. Walked in and spoke to the Manager, I explained to him what was the issue with the pair of boots. Boots did not feel comfortable, yes they were worn only way I would know if they were for my comfort. I also do understand that the store has a policy. As a manager and how you carry out your professionalism, you are to have some sort of discretion for your guests. It was my first time doing such an exchange and I would of consider given that discretion. As quickly as I was greeted I was also denied the discretion. I was not asked one question about the pair of boot or did he bothered to ask if he can check them out. Wish I would of asked for his name but I'll just describe him. White male, average height, beard, between the ages of 40/45. Very poor customer service. Now I understand why this place has such reviews. I hate this place so much because 1) they never, EVER have my size. 2) they never have the shoes I want. 3) the staff isn't very helpful. 4) they are EXTREMELY over priced. It costs $55 for a pair of converse, when somewhere else, you can get a pair for $40. I've been at this place 4 times and they not once, had my size or even the shoe itslef. The hours on the website are incorrect: The store closes at 9pm on Monday. When I arrived at 8:24 pm, the doors were locked and the person inside told me to come back another day. Hours. I explained to the girl through the door that the website stated open until 10 and she informed me that all stores were different. Mon - Sat9:00 AM - 10:00 PM Sun10:00 AM - 7:00 PM I ordered a pair of shoes from another store to avoid shipping charges. The employee who called stores with the shoes in stock felt Miami, Florida was closer than Kansas City, Missouri, but I was there to order shoes not a geography lesson. It's killing me to boycott this place because it's close to home & my boyfriend shops there so we used to take advantage of the BOGO 1/2 off deal they always seem to have. With that said there's no way I'll give these racist, profiling, and rude people anymore of my boyfriends $$ even if it is to my own demise. Of course I'm a white female in my 30's so I'm guessing the profiling came from the fact that my bf is 6'2", tattoos everywhere, and the like. What that "greeter" didn't know was that he had a pocket full of cash to buy their lame shoes for us but when we walked in I clearly heard her tell the loss prevention guy to watch us as she actually pointed her finger at us. She was a black woman who's "power" had gone to her head. I confronted her about it immediately & she denied it of course but I knew what she had said while being goofy enough to stick her fingers in my direction. I immediately called across the store to say I wanted to leave because of what the lady had done. As I was telling him this there were 3 black men standing nearby & they told me that "she did them the same way". They still stayed & bought shoes from those people which I can't even fathom but whatever. The store manager never called me about the incident & my calls to corporate were totally pointless. Basically I was simply told that I was wrong, despite the fact that the man I talked to was in a different state & clearly wasn't there when this occurred. To make matters worse my boyfriend (the reason we were singled out in the first place!) went back by himself & bought a pair of shoes! Are there no standards anymore? Can an entire company, from corporate on down, back up their rude/profiling employee & insist that the customer is totally wrong?? Apparently the answer is yes to a lot of people but not me & I hope not you. These people only respond to one thing & that's their bottom line so if they don't get hit there they will continue this racist, profiling, & just plain old rude treatment of certain customers. What gets me is that I wasn't even the one she was targeting, yet I was the only one to be offended enough to say no I won't purchase from that type of company.
