I ordered a pair of basketball sneakers for my 15 year old grandson. They were about $120 with taxes. To be delivered my son's duplex. Got a notice that they were delivered to my son's house. He was there all day. I texted him that they had been delivered, he went out to get them and they were not there, no where to be found. Shit Shoe Carnival refused to refund my money or send another pair for local store pickup. They sent me a pic of a white plastic package and stated they'd been delivered. I received the valentines low top Converse I ordered and they are at least a size too big. I think they are men's shoes. if you order a size 8, and it's a men's shoe that would equal a 9 1/2 in a woman's shoe. Ive worn a size 8 my whole life and these are way too big. When asked for help staff was to busy fronting the front shelves to help. Was told check with the only person working the register to see if another store had what I was looking for. I saw a wheel to get extra money or percentage to take money off. She didn't even tell her about. Then she went and picked out another pair of boots 75.00. Again tell her or me about the wheel. Than after I got my confirmation it showed my old address.. I call and spoke with a live person and they said it will be sent to the updated address. The return service is ridiculous. I was supposed to get a replacement item sent to me 2 weeks ago. Numerous calls to customer service to find out the item was still not shipped. They can't even issue a refund even though it's their screw up. Now I'm disputing the purchase with PayPal to try to get my money back since clearly the replacement item will never be shipped. There customer service STINKS! The associates are polite but the service and processing technology is like dealing with a company in 1980. The shipped me shoes with a security lock still on them and then it took 3 tries and multiple associates + supervisors for them to figure out how to ship me a replacement pair. Shoe Carnival was a nice little store if you're looking for athletic, hiking or comfortable shoes. Nothing very trendy or fashionable in here. Offering men, women and children's shoes (mostly brand names for less), Show Carnival is a great source for buying for the entire family. The next time I need sneakers, I will be coming here because they have a HUGE selection! They also had lots of Uggs, or Ugg knockoffs (like I said, comfortable shoes here). Visited Shoe Carnival in Sioux City Iowa yesterday. Clean store, busy place. Saw some kind of Spin to Win Game as I walked in. I asked the clerk about it, she said I had to buy three pairs of shoe. Found three pairs and went to register. I spun the wheel, It stopped at You Win! Walked back to register, she signed me up for emails then rang up my items, She said $283 dollars, plus change. I asked her what did I win, she said I did not win. So I removed one pair of shes and told her if I did not win, I did according to the wheel, then I will just buy two pair of shoes. HM, now $187.00, Good! Then she handed me a spin the wheel card, for use at a later date. Now I have been in this store several imes before. They used to always run the buy one get one half off. Every time I had gone in to get that deal, I was Always told the shoes I was purchasing was not included in that deal. Long story short, I do not normally shop at Shoe Carnival due to the non transparent come on marketing practices they use. Or perhaps the employees just need more training. If I have to ask and feel like I'm ~begging~ for assistance, especially after the live (as opposed to a recording) person on the loudspeaker told customers to ask for assistance, you WON'T be getting my money and you WILL be getting 1 star! After waiting browsing for 10 minutes and no associate in sight, and then going back up to the front desk to ask for assistance, and then waiting for 5 minutes for assistance....NOPE! I walked back UP to the front, told her that I never received assistance and that I'd be spending ($$$$) on shoes elsewhere. Of course, she offered to get assistance for me again. Nope. Sorry. See ya. Looks like a great variety of shoes, but the short visit here made me remember why I prefer DSW. I have visited this store several times. They have good sales and name brand products. Great customer service. I recently bought a pair of Sketchers and within a week, the leather had split on the instep. I hate taking stuff back but these shoes should not be breaking down like this so soon. The last pair I had lasted two years! I came back to this store and it was no hassle at all to exchanged the shoe. I really appreciate it. I was in and out in 5 minutes or so. Ordered two pairs of shoes with about $40-45 apparent savings. Great sales prices, however, my online experience with shoe carnival was ruined due to lack of service. I received one pair of defective air max, leaking sole, and got only auto responses when arranging exchange. Auto responses state that their policy does not do exchanges just refunds for PayPal online orders. I would have to pay to ship them back and get the discount partial order refund and would have to pay nearly full price to repurchase because the discount was based on combined cost over $100. If I were to do that, I would lose all benefit of the discount. All I wanted was direct replacement of the shoes they sent defective. Also shipment arrived in mangled box and I received no order email information. Not doing business with them again. read more

I give this company Negative 10 stars! Never buy online here. I ordered a size in a brand (even the same style) that I frequently buy and wear. For some reason, these shoes were too large. The return process online is an absolute nightmare. I live over an hour away from an actual store. It has taken nearly a month to get this sorted out after waiting for return labels that never arrived. I paid for shipping myself. The item was delivered to the company yesterday. I prompted customer service of when my money will be refunded. She told me 5-10 business days for 'return processing' and 1-3 days before it appears on my payment method. I find their customer service to be lacking, very disrespectful. Long explanation follows: : ) I purchased a pair of sandals on 7/28/17. I decided I did not need them a the moment and wanted to return them. When I pulled up to the store, I realized that I did not have my receipt. I looked on my phone at what I believed was the Shoe Carnival "Return without a receipt policy", which I apparently misread; I believed, that you could return the item with the original form of tender. When I told the employee at the registers this (I believe she was new and being trained) another employee (who stated she was the manager) stepped up and said, "Nope, we will not take these back without a receipt, we will only do an exchange." I began to tell her that I read on line that all you needed was the original form of tender, but never had a chance to finish my sentence. She immediately became defensive and stated " It says it on the receipt" at which point we both said "I/you don't have the receipt". She then began pointing to signs and loudly stating well it says it here, and there etc. I became very uncomfortable at this time and told her I did not want to argue and that she did not need to point out the policy to me. She then asked if I wanted an exchange, I said no and left the store. As I have been in customer service for close to 40 years I was very upset and decided to phone the store to express my displeasure, which I suppose was not a wise decision. I began by stating that I too worked in customer service... (and, although I did not tell her this, am in my 50's so chances are I have been doing it longer than she has been on this earth). Once again, before I could even finish my sentence, she began speaking over me, stating that she too had worked in customer service a "long time" and had learned how to deal with "customers like me". Clearly this is not the case; being disrespectful has not place in a regular conversation, and without question does not belong in a conversation with a customer. Ultimately, I did find my receipt, return to the store and receive my refund. She was pleasant at this visit, but the damage is done. I do not know when it started to be okay to treat others this way, especially in a customer service situation. In all my years, I have never done this nor I have I seen this done. just now I purchased boots for my daughter for Christmas from this location but they were out of her size so they ordered them and had them shipped to the house. When they arrived at my house the sensor tag was still on the boot. I brought the boots up to the Harbison location and explained to the kid at the register that I needed the sensor removed. I explained why and brought the receipt and the box. He looked confused and then proceeded to try and do a return on the boots then asked me... "I'm sorry, what did you want?" I said again that I needed the sensor removed so that my daughter can wear her boots. The (I'm guessing) manager(?) looks over to see what he was doing so I explain to her that I they were shipped to me with the sensor on. The doesn't even look at me, does a kind of "huh" shrug and continues with her guest. He struggled removing the tag and then handed me the box. No one apologized for the inconvenience of me having to drive back or the fact that I had to give a gift with the alarm tag still on it! Highly dissatisfied with the service (or lack of). Now I am a long time shopper with Shoe Carnival since my now 16 year old was a baby. I usually go into the store but because of Covid I can't. My daughter needed shoes for her grandfather's funeral so obviously Shoe Carnival is my go to. Well not any more. I placed an order online to have it shipped to me on Friday (5/8/2020) only to wake up Saturday morning to an email that my order was cancelled. I contact customer service and after waiting over an hour to speak to a representative I was told there was something wrong with my billing address and to place the order again. Checking the credit card that I used for the purchase I see a purchase hold on my account for Shoe Carnival so now they want me to put another hold on my card to repurchase the same shoe. I instead choose to use another card and the customer service rep put the order in on her side and also knocked off a few dollars for my inconvenience (smart woman because this is how you keep a customer coming back). Then I wake up this fine Mother's Day (5/10) to yet another email saying my order was cancelled AGAIN. I immediately call customer service again that was answered alot quicker this time and told there was something wrong with my credit cards billing address. I informed the rep that It was not possible and that I had a previous order cancelled Yada, Yada. She places me on hold for about 30 min with the occasional check in after being on hold for so many minutes and then tells me that the reason my orders are being cancelled is due to an error in their system that have now been fixed and "I should not have any problems going forward when replacing my order again." I explain that now I have two Shoe Carnival purchase holds on two separate credit cards and now they just want me to place a third order because of their error. I then asked to speak to a supervisor only for her to tell me before she transfers me that the supervisor is going to tell me the same thing. Once transferred sure enough I was told the same thing and it was implied that I need to enter the correct billing info associated with my credit card at this point I let her have it and told her I would not be placing another order online that I have no trust in and would no longer be shopping at their stores. DON'T EVER SHOP HERE AS THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE PROPER RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ERRORS AND APPROPRIATELY COMPENSATE THEIR CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF IT!!!! read more

I visited the store with good intentions of ending up with a good sale however I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I am an African American woman and the minute I stepped in the store, I was profiled. I was followed on every aisle of the store I went to by the staff workers who pretended to be organizing boxes conveniently everywhere I was.The reason I know this is because we locked eyes on more than 5 times and they suspiciously looked away which is not a coincidence to me, and moved to every aisle I walked to at the same time right behind me. I did not see it happen to any other shopper at that time. They seemed to be talking on the mic to each other as I approached the different sections of the store to alert the other staff members to look out for me. I even caught one of the girls whispering to the other co-worker "something" and once she saw me approach them she pretended like she was organizing boxes. If this was innocent enough, why did she seem so shocked to see me? I have never felt so horrible, isolated, segregated and targeted while shopping like I did in this store. read more
