I bought a pair of Converse high top sneakers and the Soul came unglued from the upper rubber base. She had them for about 3 months and I figured they would stand behind them because they were defective . They were quick to tell me they'd only warranty shoes for 30 days after that you own the junk . 30 days may be reasonable for shoes that have been abused by their owners however when there's a defect in the material I don't think 30 days applies . In my entire life I have never had a pair of sneakers of any brand come separated between the soul and the rubber outer band that secures the upper to the soul . There are no signs in the store that say 30 days warranty only. I asked him where is the signage that says warranty ends in 30 days and she said it's on my receipt . I told her that's a hell of a thing to give me a receipt with a notice that my warranty is only 30 days after the fact that I've already purchased the shoes . They should let me know that right up front that we're not going to warranties shoes for quality and workmanship after 30 days . Probably because they are using the cheapest junk shoes that they can find . I would suggest that the shoes that they sold me were probably seconds . read more

CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IF YOU SHOP HERE!!! Me and my sister came to buy a pair of shoes and the lady behind the desk charged her twice. She told us the card declined the first time and had her put her card in again and charged her a second time. We didnt notice until we left and went back for a refund. Showed the lady my sisters bank transactions and she still denied that her card was charged twice!! Wouldn't give us a refund and told is to call customer service. My husband bought a pair of Vans for my son on June 23rd.... Less than two weeks there was tear on the side of the shoe. Called the store and was advised that they could only exchange, I brought the shoes in with out the receipt but had the transaction/sale on my phone via bank account....I was then told about the 30 day policy on the receipt that I didn't have. It was less than two weeks of having the shoes when it started falling apart. Never have I ever had to return a pair of Vans. Left a message for their customer service team. Went there, my kids loved the Ninja Warrior set up, all good until my three year old had to pee. And they denied my three year old a bathroom. When I asked if they wanted her to pee on the floor the woman said "don't be like that with me" Be like what? Trying to spare you from cleaning up pee? Clearly she's never had kids. Beware before you go! Show City has a store policy where you can only try on one shoe for any shoe that cost over $100. 00. My suggestion is to not carry shoes over $100.00 if you can't allow your customers to try them both on (right foot and left foot). We just left WSS, we were able to try on both shoes at over hundred each, and we were able to walk around and make sure the tennis shoes were comfortable for our ten year old son. Whomever owns this store needs to visit this store with the employees not knowing they are the owners to see how horrible the employees are here. When I walked in I was looking for toddler sizes... I looked everywhere for an employee, they were nowhere! I saw a guy that maybe looked like he worked there so I said, "Do you work here?" He said "No, good luck, we've been looking for help to." Finally, the girl walked up to the check stand and another girl in a black shirt with her. I said, "I really need help here". The girl said, "What?" Looking like she was annoyed and hates her job. At a loss for words, my pregnant wife tried to return a pair of Vans that did not fit. She just wanted a larger size or store credit for some shoes that would actually fit her. Store manager Juan told her he could not resell the shoes on account that they have been worn. She literally can't wear them because they do not fit her. Spoke with the Juan myself and asked to be shown where in fact they were dirty because these shoes have zero signs of wear. Asked for his regional manager because my pregnant wife was upset at this point. He wouldn't not give me the number. Did a little digging and found the number myself. Spoke with the regional manager and without seeing the shoes sided with the store manager, told me there was nothing that could be done, and hung up on me. I would give zero stars if I could. The manager Isabella was extremely rude and condescending. I purchased a pair of slip resistant shoes for work and returned them two days later never worn. Yes I cut the tags off because I thought that they would work but when I put them on at home they did not fit right. She insisted that I had worn them basically calling me a liar when I had not worn them. She was rude with me from the start. She then tried to tell me that since I cut the tags off as well as the slip resistant tag that they usually don't take them back because workplaces want to see that tag on the shoe. That was not mentioned on the receipt as a policy. She clearly just made that up. The receipt clearly states that I can return the shoes with the receipt and unworn and that is what I did. My intent was to purchase a different pair of shoes, but after that occurred, I will never be purchasing another pair of shoes from that store again. The following response from management on Yelp is just as condescending as was the manager at the store. I DID NOT wear the shoes and it was obvious since there was no wear and tear because they were not worn. Terrible customer service. read more

I went in today and only had about 5 minutes to find a new pair of shoes for work. Juan helped me out and he was the best!! I was trying on things I thought I would like and he was bringing me things he thought would work for me. He found me the pair I bought which wasn't what I would have found for myself because they were in the youth section and the sizing was different. I came here to get some Nike training shoes, but had some questions about the best ones to get. The person working there never welcomed me when I walked in (even though there were only 2 other people in there) nor did he ask me if I needed help. After walking around for a bit I decided to ask for help, but he got a phone call right then and stayed on the phone for about 10 minutes before I left empty handed. Only put a one star because I had to to actually Write a review on this place. Got a pair of shoes for Christmas (not knowing the return policy due the shoes being a Christmas gift) anyways had to wear the shoes for a few minutes ok more like 15 mins around the house and to my mail box to get a feel for them (not to mention it just rained hard the previous 2 days before wearing them) they ended up being a half size too big. Went to the store to try and exchange them argued with them for about 10 mins saying they were used and can't do anything about them mind you they were worn once for 15 mins. Might have Little Rock's on the bottom of the shoes nothing they can't clean though. I looked around at their other shoes on the bottom and they were much worse than what I was returning. Long story short the bitch assistant manager did nothing about it but give me corporates number who also did nothing about it. So I went to a different shoe city won't mention there name but wrote a great review on them. They were able to exchange my shoes with NO PROBLEM nice to know my boyfriend didn't waste$65 on a pair of shoes that don't fit. The store has a nice presentation with shoes everywhere and hats on basketballs. The main problem of concern I had was customer service. As I walked through the door, then stood by the front of the register for help...no one was around. I looked at my watch and it took 7 minutes and 2 seconds before a lady asked can I help you. I bought some Nike running shoes this morning at the Newport store and I realized after wearing them around the house I needed a different size. I went to the Costa Mesa store to exchange them. At the register, Karen the Asst. Manager, in an offensive tone asked me if I wore them. I told her I purchased them this morning and wore them around the house. Instead of processing my exchange, she begrudgingly got the tape gun and used it on the bottom of the shoes I was exchanging; making me wait until she was done. I rated shoe city 3 stars b/c they have a ok selection of Nikes and chucks but no customer service on tuesdays or the Tuesday I was there. I walked around the store for 10 mins before the guy behind the registered asked me (Kinda yelled) if I needed help. By that time I already helped myself. I bought a pair of shoes from here the other day. When I got home, I wore them around the around the house on carpet for five minutes only to discover they gave me blisters. As a result, I took them back to Shoe City to seek a return only to be told I couldn't return them because they were "worn". I explained I wore them around the house on carpet for five minutes but the manager "Salvadore" refused and kept telling me it was policy and there was nothing he could do. The shoes were flawless mind you. I explained to him my fiancé and I shop at the store often and he would lose my business forever along with several others once I tell them about the poor customer service I've received. He continued to refuse my $50 return and settled with losing a lot of business for his store and also refused to give me his manager's name and gave me the customer service number instead. When I called the customer service number I discovered that he gave me the wrong number and extension to try to divert me from making a complaint. I've worked in customer service for about 10 years and never have I received such poor service. The store's manager has no concept of customer service and retention and damaged the stores reputation and business by refusing to make a simple return. The store deserves one star and really needs to rethink their customer service philosophy if they want to thrive as a business. Losing hundreds of dollars in future business should never be an option in the event of a $50 shoe return. read more

I had to buy a pair of tennis shoes today and made the unfortunate choice to stop into this store today. The two sales clerks barely acknowledged by entrance, didn't help me find my shoes or my size and when I was checking out and my card wouldn't scan right away, one of them became snippy with me and told me I should pay cash. I told her I did't need to pay cash she then started arguing with me. It escalated from there with her laughing and being incredibly rude. They could not have been less interested in helping a customer. Last time I will ever bring my business there. Great job ladies. Poor Management!!! I purchased 212.00 worth of shoes Dec 1st 2013. I liked the selection and was able to get sizes for all three of my kids. Among other things,we bought 2 pairs of converse that day. My kids loved them and wore them hard. 27 days later my sons pair came unglued and the bottom began to fall out. I realized that they were worn but they should have been able to be used until they were outgrown. He wore them to school so they were not abused just worn. They manager was really abrupt and defensive right out of the gate, he said my son must be a skater, he accused him of using them for something hard core, outside the normal spectrum of use. I assured him it was normal use. Even though I spent 212.00 he refused to help me at all. I then emailed Converse Inc. and sent pictures, they kindly replaced the shoes acknowledging the failure of the glue. That should have been handled by the very unpleasant manager.
