At the beginning of school so late August of last year I purchased a pair of football cleats for my nephew . They were 185.00 total but he has to have wide cleats . Fast forward to October of last year and the soles of the cleats were separating from the body of the cleats. The store offered me credit however they no longer carry football cleats . So went through corporate to get money back they also Offered credit so I accepted. And scoured their website for football cleats . To no avail. The credit expired yesterday so ordered a pair of shoes as to not lose the money. This past weekend, I was on a mission to find comfortable all-around shoes for my upcoming travel destinations. I stopped by the New Balance store at South Coast, as I've heard NB makes comfortable footwear (good enough for Ohtani right). I walked in and was greeted by Bree. I let her know what I was looking for and Bree gave a wonderful recommendation on the 1080's in a 2E Wide, me being a big guy. Bree brought out the 1080's and as I tried them on, WOW!!! Very comfortable shoes for everyday walking or running errands that require you to be on your feet all day. But the 5 Stars is not for the 1080's. It was for the wonderful customer service Bree showed me that day. There were many tourist and weekend shoppers in the NB store but with that, Bree always checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok and ask if the recommendation was good. In our busy world, it is nice to still see great customer service and attention to the needs of buyers. I would highly recommend coming to New Balance South Coast and looking for Bree. I appreciate and grateful when i received exceptional service! i just encountered Christian who went above and beyond by providing information what shoes i should wear. My podiatrist recommended to visit this store I wore all brands of shoes in the past to cater to my feet problem. Christian used his Ipad to provide correct shoes recommendation. He recommended 860 wide He also showed me the unisex 990 He noticed i was a little bit resistant because i needed a scanner machine to have a better analysis He also said i can test the shoes at home and exchange it . he was kind enough to let me know if another store that does analysis on a treadmill. I said i will see if they recommend the 860 and i will be back. He was thoughtful that he can order the beige shoes. I have been wearing new balance 990 for a 20 years and now I need to change shoes. I am nervous because I have a painful disease that affects my feet. New Balance 990 has allowed me to continue to walk and not be in a wheelchair 100 percent of the time. 1) unisex is a false label because the standard with is D. I have been wearing the previous women 990 and the standard width is B. The company has labeled the new 990 incorrectly. They are men's and not unisex. 2). There are no widths that are for women. 3). The 990 v6 is very different than the previous versions. The sides of the shoe are a lot lower and my foot slips. I wear arch supports and I can't wear vs 6 I am super sad that I have to look for different shoes. read more

What a pleasant shopping experience today! The whole team at this New Balance Store is exceptional. Especially Evelyn, who helped me decide on the perfect running shoe. I spent a long time trying on many different styles, and Evelyn was always there to bring out new models to try. I am a jogging enthusiast- I have been jogging for over 20 years! In all those years, I have only worn New Balance 990/993 shoes. It is my birthday weekend, and decided to treat myself to a new pair of 990s! I was looking forward to going to NB store and buying my new hoofing shoes! I imagined going back home and immediately going for a jog! I went to store and noticed that the store looked busy- but quickly realized most were the employees.... I counted; there were 5 employees. My friend and I were going back and for about what 990 version to get... that went on for about 10 minutes. in all that time; with all those employees, not one came to assist us. My friend had to go break up the circle around the cash wrap and asked for assistance. One of the sales person turn around; and we asked if we could have a couple of shoes to try on... Unfortunately, they did not have my size which is ok.... I can always ordered them online.... the problem is not having to wait for my New Balance-because i will wait for them... it is the only shoe I have ever used for jogging! and ever will! The problem is the horrible customer service... these are $200 shoes; and I am a life-long New Balance customer... We New Balance-users are particular and unique!!! The staff on this day was flat-out disconnected from rudimentary customer service! One star for the product itself! read more

My Doctor recommended getting a pair of 928 New Balance shoes due to a foot injury I have. I have been trying to get a hold of the store via phone for 4 days and the line is always busy. Business can not be that good that no one ever picks up the phone. There other stores seem to have staff available to answer the phone. There FaceBook page seems to be down to so I can not contact them through that means either. Do not want to drive to San Diego or Santa Monica to get a pair of $150.00 shoes. I went to the new balance store today. I always dread looking for shoes. I had a very good visit today. The young lady who helped me, Bri, listened to all of my requirements & did the 3-D scan of my feet. She brought out several pairs of shoes. I really liked two of them, but one of them didn't quite fit so she ended up bringing me two other pairs of those shoes, which unfortunately didn't work. I ended up buying two pairs of the fresh foam shoes, which are awesome! She was very friendly, listened to all of my requirements and went back several times to try to find shoes that would fit correctly. All in all, it was a wonderful visit and I will return to that store. read more

I came here for the IPR 3030 Orthotic that prevents/helps with Plantar Fasciitis. ($40.00) I know a lot of people that use this in their athletic shoes and other shoes. The woman who helped me first was not as familiar with it as I was and initially told me that the metatarsal hump on the orthotic is for people with high arches only. Then she checked with her manager without me asking and came back and said no--it's for all feet and perfect for Plantar Fasciitis. That is OK because I did my research before coming. I would like to credit her with knowing that the NB Orthotics are cut large so if you are an 11 shoe, a 10 fits best. That saved me a lot of time and heartache. They had stock on the shelf and ask because they have stock in the back too. She went on to help someone else with shoes while I walked around the store testing it out. It has just a 14 day return she told me. After I decided to buy it--I wanted to try on some shoes and this guy then helped me. This guy knew his New Balance stuff off the top of his head. I told him what I was looking for and he knew the model numbers and widths. They were low on narrows and he said the season change is going on and by mid to late April they will have the next model year in so I will return again because the regular is too wide for my feet. Seems like New Balance shoes may be cut wider than normal. I liked that they let me walk around the store and contemplate --that is important. They are located in what I like to call the Bastard Step-Child wing of the mall all the way on Bear Street. So unless you want a long walk--park over there. I walked it from the front over 2 bridges because I was coming from Jostmar Jewelers (excellent place for watch battery or repair) on the Bristol side of the mall. While I was in the store on a Saturday--they had a constant flow of people coming in and buying shoes. PS. Some of the New Balance shoes are made in the USA! You will pay a bit more but it is worth it because you know they are made well. Ask them which ones? read more

Located in the Crystal Court part of South Coast Plaza this store has every variety of New Balance in every width and size. They even have velcro! Is velco cool now?? When I was in elementary school and my mom bought me velcro pro-wings I was the complete opposite of cool and all my peers made sure I knew this. Even though the store was very busy the staff working here were very friendly and efficient. I ended up purchasing some made in the USA walking shoes. ***Just a warning.*** These shoes took longer than any other shoe to break-in and hurt the worst. My feet were KILLING me and I was feeling very unpatriotic about my American made shoes. Where do I even begin? Now I'll start off by saying I sell shoes for a living, so maybe my standards are high but wow. Where I work doesn't have the 990v5 so I went here to pick myself up a pair. Brock was one of the rudest people I've ever experienced in a retail setting. He brought the shoes but made me try them on at register. I wasn't even able to take them to the foot fitting area to check and the sold me TWO DIFFERENT SIZES IN TWO DIFFERENT WIDTHS. I watched him look in the shoe, sell them to me that way, and thank goodness I had the feeling to check the sizes at the car. I didn't even try on two different sizes, I could barely try on the one. If you walk in there they won't even acknowledge your presence or say hello. It's just all around a rude and cold experience from New Balance. Do not come to this location! read more

This New Balance store is awesome and I've been coming to this location for over 7 years. The 1080v12's and 880v12's are really comfortable and supportive. Today I purchased a pair of really nice Medium Blue 880v12s and because my salesperson Diana was so knowledgeable, patient and caring I splurged on a 2nd pair (Made in USA 990v5's) so I could rotate my New Balance shoes. I was in the store about an hour and a half. I tried on at least 10 pair of shoes before deciding on the right size and style. I'm so thankful that New Balance has 2E (Wide) and 4EE (Extra Wide) shoes. Depending on the style of the shoe I get 2E or 4EE. Diana was great to work with and didn't make me feel rushed at any time. New Balance has come out with a lot of great designs. You definitely need to check-out their South Coast Plaza Store. It is located across the street from the main part of South Coast Plaza on the west side of Bear Street. You can walk over the Bear Street bridge that connects this Wing with the rest of South Coast Plaza. If you're in the market for things for your home this Wing is the place to go. Even the furniture department at Macy's Home Store is upscale. Some really great restaurants too. Thank you New Balance South Coast Plaze and Bravo Diana!! read more

My mother went in to return a pair of faulty shoes that were worn once and immediately fell apart. Diane the store manager asked for the receipt and my mom said she didn't have it but had her debit card she purchased them with and asked if they could look it up that way. The store manager Diane said no and told her to go get her bank statement to show proof she purchased the shoes. We left and came back with the papers she had told us to get. She then said no they wouldn't refund my mom and to have a nice day. As we walked out she mocked us by yelling again "Have a nice day!" Diane is rude and a horrible store manager. I have owned 3 pairs of new balance shoes without a problem. I purchased a 4th par and had to return them because they hurt my feet (after 30 min of walking). When I returned them I was told that I would only be able to receive store credit because they had been wakes in. This is the first show store that will not five a full refund for a product that hurts or does not give a satisfaction guarantee. It sucks because I love their shoes but it is hard to purchase a product that forces you to use their product even if it causes you pain because they will not stand behind it. Anyone looking to purchase their shoes I would make sure you walk around their store and make sure they are what you want before purchasing. I personally would not buy from them again.
