I took my new wedding heels in to get them shortened. First time, all they did was add new black tips on the bottom. Took them back in after I measured at home, and they were same exact 3" heels. They apologized for the confusion and said they'd fix it and have them shortened in a couple days. I'm gonna try and post a picture so you can see as well...but they're STILL 3". so upset at them for not only lying to me, but charging me $20 for that and the pads I bought. They should be reimburse me full cost and gas to drive there twice. So deceptive it makes my stomach turn. And they made me feel like I was stupid! read more

I took in a pair of high-mileage miners boots for a resole (second time since about 1997). They quoted a week but with some weather and Covid-times the replacement soles weren't available. I was told a few more days. Went back a week later to a very nice resole job and some oiled and polished boots at a reasonable price. I was so pleased I took these to the truck and took the "in-service" boots back in to be repaired. The welt was separating from the upper. It's good to know that I can still get 25 year-old boots repaired. Made in the USA and repaired for a quarter of the cost of new imports. Very friendly and helpful staff. read more

Stopped in to have a pair of expensive Danner boots resolved. They had the white soft bottoms, and I wanted rubber Vibram soles. Owner told me Vibrams were uncomfortable. I wore Vibram soles for 20 plus years in the military. They are not uncomfortable. I wanted brown Vibram sole. He had black. Said he would not order the brown. Said have a nice day, FU, and walked off. He is a POS! Do not use this prick! That's my review. Use at your peril. I did not want what he had and wanted to easily sell me. Bud Light him. I was so excited to find a place that could repair the broken sole of my favorite boots. I brought them in, left them, came back to get them to be told they can not be repaired. Totally understandable.... besides the fact that they let me think for weeks that they were able to repair them and let me drive all the way back out here for no freaking reason. I brought a pair of riding boots to have a simple zipper fixed. It was going to take about 10 days to fix, which was fine. I came on the day and slightly after the time that I was told to pick them up. I was told they weren't ready yet and then was yelled out by the man who works in the back that I'd have to come back. I said that I had planned on picking them up today and needed them. He came the back out and gave me back boots that had the soles removed and the zippers taken out. He was very rude. It is a special treat to be able to share a local business that provides a unique service really well. That is the case with The Shoe Fixer in Murfreesboro. Roger Burnett has had his own shoe repair shop for nearly 20 years. He started out working for someone else fixing shoes during college and then started collecting equipment in his garage a piece at a time. He would buy a piece of old equipment, fix it up and then buy another piece when he had the money. Once he had adequate equipment he moved it all to a little shop at 1004 Memorial Blvd. just behind O'Charley's. He's been there ever since. You might be thinking to yourself, "this guy fixes shoes for a living, wow, that must be boring." Quite the opposite is true! Roger says one of the secrets to his success is that he likes what he does. He says that if it were not his business, he would probably do it as a hobby anyway. He also credits keeping his overhead low and treating people right as the "business" aspects that have kept him going. As the years have passed, he has noticed some changes. Shoes are changing. There are more and more "disposable shoes" out there, more with molded soles that can't really be fixed. There are also fewer competitors. He is the only one within about 30 miles. He says that people now seek him out because there is no competition. He has had to expand his repertoire a bit though. They repair not only shoes but also anything with "weird stitching"--purses, backpacks, belts--anything with heavy duty stitching. However, soles and heels are still their bread and butter. The Shoe Fixer doesn't really run specials as their prices are low anyway. They rely on word of mouth advertising (or word of newsletter) to stay afloat. If you have a pair of shoes that need to be fixed, take them up there. They will tell you if they are fixable or not. They will tell you if they are marginal--maybe they can fix them, maybe they can't. Also, if you need a good shine, take your shoes to Mr. Willie Harris at The Shoe Fixer. He can make your shoes shine so bright you can see your reflection in them. read more

I will never return to shoe fixer again. I have been there several times, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Their work has always been mediocre at best, usually, barely acceptable. The man, Who seems to be in a position of some authority there, is horrible, rude, exhibits very poor judgment, and is absolutely obnoxious. My advice is Avoid this shop, if possible. There are other places to get shoes repaired end it would be worth the drive. The ladies who work there seem to be nice. There is often a lovely purse or a pair of boots for sale. However, these two good points are not enough to make up for the horrible attitude of the man. I truly feel sorry for the ladies who have to work with him. read more

Love them- they are always so nice and helpful. I wear heels a lot and randomly the bottom soul of my heeled boot came off and they were able to fix it up like it never happened! I am so thankful for their service and saving my shoes life :) They seriously are a wonderful business and my mom and I don't take our shoes to anyone else! Waste of time and money. Brought numerous pairs of dress shoes to have them redone. I wear alot of different shoes based on what I do and only wear each pair occasionally. EVERY pair that was brought here has failed after a few wearings. EVERY PAIR. After about 4 times the sole completely separates. Super glue from Walmart does a better job. I wear heels just about every day to work. Needless to say, I can put a beating on the stem of the heel and the toes. I have taken several pairs of worn heels and boots to the guys at the Shoe Fixer and I always get them back looking like new! In fact, they have replaced worn out heel taps at no charge without me even asking for a replacement! I think that's great customer service and it shows me that they care about my business. Brought in some Cole Haan boots that I bought used a few years ago for repair. They were in need of some new soles because the original were peeling away. They suggested a leather sole and wow! I have never been treated as badly as I was by the owners of this business. I called on the date my shoes were supposed to be ready for pickup, and was berated for inquiring about them at noon when my claim check said 2pm. I was just checking since I was on my lunch break. The wife first let me hear about it, then her husband called me back because I needed to be told off some more I guess. It was so bad I put him on speakerphone in my office so everyone could hear. Nobody could believe what we were hearing. My unwearable shoes were shoved into my arms so hard it pushed me back a step when I picked them up. Terrible place. Atleast they sell shoe polish. I took my wifes cowboy boots in for work. Although originally dark cherry in color, the toes and a few spots on the side had become worn and had a light faded color. I asked for the boots to look like new and to make the boots one color. When I picked them up, the toes and sides were still almost the same color as when I dropped them off, but there was a shiny gloss finish covering the boots. I stood there wondering wtf? I pointed out that my boots look like someone spent 20 seconds on them. He then stopped what he was doing, put a cherry polish on them and surprise, the boot color instantly began to fill in. I paid for the work and luckily the polish in glass jars is cheap too. Took the boots home and finished polishing them up myself. Either there was a breakdown in communication or they thought it was easy $. Atleast theres a good selection of polishes to purchase. read more
