A friend recommended this shop to me and I can't believe I didn't know about it earlier. I'll never take my heels anywhere else. The shop has a few high-top stools if you want to wait for your repair, or take a stroll in the city. I brought in two pairs of heels and they were done in 15 minutes. Best shoe repair guy ever! I have been a customer since 2001. He has fixed issues from heels falling off to my dog eating half a heel of a very expensive sandal. Mike was able to recreate the sandal heel and it was almost identical to the original python look. Impressive! I'm still wearing the same sandals 5 years later. There isn't a lot to love about Delaware, but Shoe Tech is my absolute favorite business in the entire state! This place is reliable, speedy, and produces beautiful work. I used to live across the street at The Residences, so I went there all the time to get my flats, heels, and boots shined and polished. Here are two of the amazing repairs they completed for me: 1) The heel cap (you know, that little endy bit) fell off of a pair of leather knee-high boots, revealing the nail underneath (ouch). Shoe Tech replaced them AND shined the boots all in a matter of about 15 mins. 2) I had a pair of black knee-high suede boots that were utterly destroyed by years of wear and walking through snow/salt. The suede looked raggedy, the salt stained it white/grey, and the 1-inch wedge soles were worn *all* the way through. I should have thrown them away, but Shoe Tech saved them. I'm not sure how they performed this miracle, but they returned the suede to a uniform rich black color and filled the gaping holes in the soles. Now that I no longer live in DE, I dearly miss this shop and I can only hope to find another that meets Shoe Tech's high level of service :( read more

Mike does an excellent job--a true craftsman. I have special orthopedic needs and I've not found anyone to date who does as good a job as he does. But my particular needs aside, I've taken in shoes for my family... handbags... belts.... He does a good job on everything. This place is amazing! They do such a great job and their prices are amazingly low. I get all my heels fixed here. For someone who has a somewhat expensive taste for shoes, I admittedly don't always take great care of them. But have no fear, Shoe Tech have done some wonders to some pretty sad looking Jimmy Choos. Plus, they'll usually have your shoes ready within a few hours. If that's not already amazing, Shoe Tech is also so accommodating that they will even try fixing things they don't usually deal with. For example, recently one of the hardware pieces on my leather clutch came off. The hardware was really the statement piece for the clutch. Out of sheer desperation, I brought the clutch in to Shoe Tech when I was dropping off a pair of shoes for repair. The guy asked for a day to try to figure it out. Knowing it was an unique hardware design, I wasn't hopeful. But, sure enough, by some divine miracle, the hardware was perfectly reattached to the clutch without any harm to the leather! What is more shocking is that he only charged me around $10-15 for it! read more

I've used these guys for a few years and have never been impressed. They are okay for simple stuff like recapping heels but I'd suggest going elsewhere for anything more complicated. Case in point: I took a pair of vintage shoes that needed the sole reattached and a new lining. When I went to pick them up, they had a new lining but the sole was still flapping. So I asked them to attach the sole, which they agreed to do. When I picked them the second time, the sole was attached (sadly, with strings of glue on the leather) but the lining they had previously replaced was now curling up. At this point, I gave up and am searching for a new shoe repair place. (I've tried them for some other repairs and they always end up *technically* repaired but looking crappy.) read more

Excellent work. Brought my hockey skates in recently. The eyelets on both skates were ripped about 4 or 5 down on both skates, both sides. He fixed them with a super hefty patch and nice clean sewing work. Totally worth it. Even patched a small tear on the boot without being asked. How much? $40!!!! I'd have paid double. He saved me about 300 in new skates! Excellent work. I'll be back with my other shoes if I need it. You won't be disappointed! read more

Absolutely the best shoe repair! I took in a pair of knee high leather boots, that I rarely wore because they were hard to get on & off. They helped me choose a metal zipper (4 tones to choose from) that they installed full length on the inseam area. Wow! Looks like it is an original feature of the boot....and now they are sooo easy to put on! These guys definitely know their stuff! & very friendly, courteous, and done quickly. I dropped off 2 pairs of shoes to be polished It took less than 10 minutes. They looked fine .... Nothing spectacular. I was used to a hand polish and this was done on machines .... Hand Polish looks so much better. I would take my shoes in again if I can't find a hand shoe polish cleaner soon. I also brought in 2 leather purses ... They do not clean or repair leather purses. I was told to "just go home and wash them with a little soap!" I am still looking for a GREAT shoe repair store that I can take both my shoes and purses to. This is not it. read more
