We ordered take away. It was at closing and we were the last order. Sushi wasn't great. Folks/service was good.

Maybe for this area the place is very good; because I see a lot of 4 & 5 stars. The sushi is ok, mediocre and is way too overprice for the quality. I've had $5 sushi's that are better, bigger cuts of raw fish on the maki rolls and the fish was better cut to where you don't bite into chewy fish, they didn't cut the silver skin out properly. It's funny that the prices at this place is more expensive than many places in California and doesn't even have the quality of it nor the taste. And California has a far higher cost of living cost than here. This is a big disappointment and, it's because of places like this that gives people a bad impression of sushi. read more

Easily the worst hibachi I have ever had. I've had lots of Hibachi. I love show of every level at dinner - table side Caesar, prime rib wagon, dim sum carts, thunderstorm at a "tiki" bar.... give it all to me. I am giving this place 3 stars for two reasons and neither is because the food was even remotely good. 1. We ate at the bar because we were both too hangry to wait for the actual hibachi table 2. Our service was great. The bartender was friendly and attentive and we really enjoyed his service. Things took a turn when we got our food. The nothing-but-lettuce salad was soggy and the dressing was creamy (what? Where's my orange gingery chunky goodness?). The onion soup was lukewarm and only had a single sad mushroom. Respectable Hibachi places give you at least TWO shrooms. We ordered Hibachi at the bar. I know I know - not the best move here. But stay with me. We ordered chicken and shrimp combos, thinking ok - the hibachi tables are literally 10 feet from us, what could go wrong? Voice over: Little did they know, everything could go wrong. The chicken was full stop inedible. The carrots were frozen right out of the bag, boiled carrots - soggy sad little carrots just crying on our plates because they were boiled to death. The shrimp were definitely also frozen but slightly more edible. The noodles were Barilla spaghetti - they didn't even bother to try to use actual lo mein - god forbid something might actually be a real Asian ingredient. The rice was fine. But the topper to the whole experience was the food had been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long and there was a lamp crust on the whole dish that just sort of fried everything in place like food hairspray. I would say we would come back and try the hibachi tables but the tables looked kind of sad. There was no onion volcano, no beating fried rice hearts, no egg spin - and no hibachi fires! What kind of blasphemy is this?! We'll wait the 2 hours for Texas Roadhouse next time, thanks. read more

Wanted to love it, couldn't even like it. Waitress came to our table three times trying to take our order (after our drink order and putting in three appetizers) when we had clearly told her we were waiting on one more person. Got the lettuce wraps as one of the apps. What came out was the teeniest-tiniest miniature Roman lettuce leafs. They were literally the length of my finger and barely wider than my thumb. I asked the waitress if there was other lettuce available and she sighed loudly replying "only for the salads". Ok. It tasted ok. Eel on the sushi roll smelled and tasted horribly fishy and was mushy. I ordered the bento box and my date ordered two more rolls. Me and the other two people at the table got our food. We asked about the rolls. No rolls ever came. When she finally came back again she asked how many boxes we needed for our leftovers. My date asked again about his sushi rolls. She said they are probably sitting in the window. He told her to just cancel them. At that point the waitress got mad and made comments about how she guessed she would just eat them then. I'm sorry but we aren't taking or paying for things that had been sitting in the window for an extended amount of time while everyone else finished. The bill came and had a suggested 20% tip on it (literally a line with it on it). Needless to say she didn't receive 20%. Also no manager came to our table when requested. Food quality poor. First time in the restaurant and was looking forward to eating after seeing the menu. I ordered the grilled flounder as I pointed to it on the menu. The waiter said pick one side. I said "I want the succotash that comes with it." She said, "It already comes with succotash, you get another side too." So I ordered steamed rice to go with it. I received fried flounder with no succotash. When I questioned the waiter on why I didn't receive my grilled flounder and succotash she told me I had ordered lunch, which I didn't. She said, the lunch portion came fried and didn't include succotash. If I wanted succotash I would have to pay extra. It was very frustrating to be told repeatedly that it was my error and have the waiter argue over everything. It all came down to the fact, I didn't get what I ordered. read more

Ok came on a Thursday night and stuck with sushi at a table. Other options were a BBQ table or a Hibachi table. The sushi was excellent, good slices of fish and very tight rolls. The sushi chef gets an A. The wait staff sucked ass tho. No silverware or chopsticks until we begged and this was common among other diners. Getting a napkin was like scaling Everest. Drinks were slow and disorganized. Lady asked for a Manhattan and got a watery bourbon. I asked for Woodford neat and actually got double oaked. Weird right? Clue that bar tender doesn't have that clue. Looking forward to BBQ but think that wait staff needs to up their game. read more

Overall the food is not bad, we liked the dishes we got but I do NOT recommend the sushi. I had it once and it was pretty awful but we decided to give it one more try and ordered different rolls- still awful. The fish in/on the rolls just does not taste fresh. Sent salad back because lettuce was super slimy, told them not to bother with the appetizer I ordered because my entree came before it was delivered....entree barely edible. Absolutely horrible. The fried rice was the worst I've ever had. The noodles tasted like plain spaghetti. Who in the world puts potatoes in your hibachi vegetable stir fry? Now regarding the filet and shrimp I had. The filet had a strange taste to it. The shrimp is the only reason I gave this a 2 star. Worst dining experience we've had in a while. We are pretty sure the waitress was high. I had to go get my own drinks from the bar, after I had ordered them and several minutes passed that proved that the waitress hadn't put in the orders. I also had to go to the sushi bar when after about 40 minutes it was clear that the waitress had not put in an order for the sashimi I ordered. The sushi bar staff confirmed that she had not put in the order, and finally brought the sashimi out to me. My wife's entree had already been brought out about 30 minutes prior to my going to the sushi bar to check on my order. The food was overall subpar, but I would have been OK with this had we had good or at least decent service. As it stands, we will not be going back. Tonight was our third visit and I must say the worst by far. The food had a different flavor compared to our previous visits. The soup tasted like a wet dog smells, the noodles were heavily spiced, the steak and chicken were both bland. I did enjoy the crab rangoo! I did inform the waitress that the soup was most likely burnt and she acted as she already knew and would have someone check it. She never offered to bring us fresh bowls or have the bill adjusted. I do not recommend this location. If you're in Elizabethtown and want good Japanese food, visit Kansai! We will likely try again several months from now. Tonight's visit may have been a fluke as our two previous were great. Hopefully this location pulls their act together. read more

We arrived and the young girl at the front desk never greeted us . As a matter of fact she turned her back as we came up and answered the phone. I have been to Japanese places and they are always super nice NOPE not here. She finally asked how many people and took us to the table where a very either new waitress was working or overworked waitress . We waited for 10 minutes fir her to take our orders. The drinks made it out to us at the table. and the sushi and it was followed by the meal. It was pretty quick however for the price the food was overpriced. The dish of steak and shrimp was okay. We dined in Shogun Bistro and nothing went as planned. Different menus with different prices. The waitress was sweet but totally clueless. We asked for a drink list and she just bluntly asked: "What do you want? Wine or liquor?" It turned out the restaurant was out of white wine. We got our orders, and the food was Costco nice. Honestly, filling the restaurant with a smell of Lysol is likely good for hygiene, but nasty for patrons finishing their meal. In summary, we were not sure if we were in a restaurant or in an SNL sketch. read more

After finding a string in my food, I have been sick since Friday. There was a string about 12 inches long in my noodles. Even before finding the string, nothing tasted right. I've got food poisoning or something. All of the service was bad - the waitress and the cook. My husband and I ordered Pepsi. Mine was ok, but my husband's was very watery down, like the machine had just ran out of soda. My pepsi was the dark color it should be, but his was transparent. There was such a huge difference in color, the waitress should have noticed. But instead, she brings him the disgusting watery mess. Then she ignored us for twenty minutes, so he had nothing he could drink. I normally go to Ginza, but I was on the side of town where Shogun was, so I gave it a try. I've been to a Shogun in Louisville before, and it was great. So, I was extremely disappointed that the experience in Etown was so bad. The salad dressing did not taste like Ginger dressing. It tasted more like Mayo. The soup tasted like they opened a beef ramen noodle packet, and mixed it with water. When I go to Ginza, the ginger dressing salad and broth are both delicious. Since it was disgusting at Shogun, I pushed the salad and soup aside and waited for the main dinner. I was so patient with this place. The string in the noodles was the final straw, and I asked for a refund. I had to call the restaurant and have the hostess to get the manager, because the waitress was ignoring us, like she had all day. I was doing my best not to puke in the restaurant and not to make a scene. I quietly told the manager what happened. I needed to run out in a hurry, so I could puke, but he made me wait to pay for drinks. And now I'm still sick, so my entire weekend was ruined by this disgusting food. I have worked in the restaurant business. I used to be a server at a steakhouse. I used to cook in a restaurant too. I have never gotten a string or hair or anything in the food I prepared at my restaurant job. Nor did I ever do such a poor job as our waitress did. These people do not belong in the food industry, and a health inspector needs to visit their kitchen. Something is not right with this place. read more
