Owners are very pleasant and throw in some free extras with large orders. You'll find all the typical Chinese dishes served up quickly. You don't enter the restaurant at all during COVID. They set your order on outdoor table for pick up and call you while you wait in car. Chicken fried rice is part of our standard order. Sometimes it can be a bit dry but it's terrific when hot and fresh. We enjoy lo mein, sweet and sour dishes and always add an order of won ton soup. Spicy entrees are my husband's favorite. The portions are so generous we've been able to enjoy our meal family style where everyone has gotten to try some of everything. Even the appetizers have been great. Hong Kong is a smallish hole in the wall in a small run down strip minimall In Elizabethtown. You could very easily overlook it but it's right next to a Sunoco minimart gas station. Directly across the street from a Domino's Pizza. All that location information out of the way, Hong Kong probably has the best American Chinese food in Elizabethtown. I am a total snobbish foodie and when I eat ethnic food I want it to be authentic and traditional; however, I recognize that in this area that no Asian restaurant could ever survive trying to serve authentic and traditional cuisine. In my opinion Hong Kong does the best job of walking the fine line of appealing to an uneducated palate yet still had enough of the traditional authentic taste that I can actually enjoy the food. One of the things I really like a lot is that Hong Kong will leave out vegetables that you either don't like or don't want in your meal. I have never run into a language barrier here and have been able to switch things up to make my order more appealing to my foodie taste. Everything I have ever ordered here I have enjoyed. Their House Special Egg Foo Young is very tasty and not something I would normally order other places in the area. So while this is not authentic ethnic Chinese cuisine, it is very good Americanized Chinese Cuisine. They also offer some other Asian type dishes but I have not really tried any of them. The food was in to-go containers when brought out to us, even though we told the cashier we were dining in. The wife got house lo mein with an egg roll as well as hot and sour soup. The shrimp in the lo mein were very strong, the noodles were okay and the remaining ingredients just fell short of expectations. The hot sour soup was good but the egg roll was a disappointment. I ordered the General Tso chicken combination and was very disappointed. The dish had a great flavor but the chicken seemed like it was overcooked or reheated after sitting a while. The pork fried rice seemed like it was old and was stale. We really can't complain too much since with drinks (canned sodas @ $1.50 each) we ate for $25. Quickly found them with several reviews and pictures. Most places do not serve the bbq ribs- seeing those on the menu all but guaranteed we would try them. First time we picked the ribs and sweet and sour chicken and the beef pepper steak. Everything was delicious. We thought maybe we were just really hungry and waited about 3 weeks. Stopped at Hong Kong for a quick dinner fix from out of state and found this hidden gem. After looking through their extensive menu, I decided on their Mongolian beef, Sesame chicken, and tofu in garlic sauce. The food absolutely blew me away with the taste and quality. Everything was perfect seasoned, nicely priced and generously portioned. Each entry came with my choice of fried rice and I mean real pork fried rice, not soy sauce and rice. I have ordered there before, and the food was always good however I am writing the due to the pure nastiness of the food and lack of the customer service. I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and Wonton Soup. I was on lunch break, so I quickly picked it up and took it to work. WELL, it was nasty! The rice was old and stale, the Lo Mein noodles was spaghetti noodles with Lo Mein noodles mixed with it. The soup was okay, but the wonton was old. What a rip off! I had to wait to take it back after work. So, I put it back in the bag. I arrived there was a nice young girl and I told her what happened, and she called for the older lady who came out of the back opened my bag and took out the container with the food and started saying I left it in the container to long then she asked if I wanted another plate or a refund, mind you this was a very unhappy lady. I said I would like the refund and she very rudely told the young girl to process it. This was all in their language not English. In the meanwhile, there was an older man making sushi I believe, and he started complaining to her about the refund. I know since he was looking at me and seemed as angry as the older lady. The young girl asked me again when I got my food and again, I told her I had it at lunch and could not make it back due to my break time was up. She then told the older man about what I told her. People think they are being sneaky when they talk about you in another language however the body language and eye movement tells all. The girl was polite enough and handed me the receipt for my food however I did tell her I would never return, and I did not like the way the two people behaved. I've been getting carry out for years here. Last night I ordered General Tos combo dinner with an egg roll a quart of wonton and 2 extra egg rolls. Because the order was over $15 the beyond menu said I would get an extra egg roll. So, that is 4 egg rolls total. When my wife got there they only had three egg rolls in the order and made her pay extra for the fourth roll. How cheap is that. The meal was good though. read more

The "Pan Fried Dumplings" were pre-packaged potstickers you can buy at any grocery store. The rice noodles had a fishy smell even though they were beef.
