We tried this place for the first time last night and wow was I impressed! We came for a rather early dinner, around 5pm on Sunday. The food was very fresh and hot, lots to choose from! I really loved the baked scallops in the clam shell, it was probably my favorite thing! I loved the coconut shrimp, though I wish there was more sauce. The fried rice was great, the lovers chicken was another favorite! The general tso was just okay for me, my partner liked it though. We found an egg custard thing that we had never heard of or tried before and it was sweet and sooo yummy! Never had anything quite like it and can't wait to come back and have it again. Our server was very attentive, she refilled our drinks before they were empty and was kind with my 1 year old daughter. Everything was clean, I didn't visit the restroom but the eating area and buffet was all very tidy. I can't wait to come back! read more

Stopped in at 3:00pm for a late lunch. I had never been there. I'm 53 years old, a retired truck driver and I have obviously eaten at restaurants in over 20 states. Family Buffet is the SECOND worst "Chinese" food I have ever eaten in my entire life. Here's just one example: the General Tao's chicken looked really odd to begin with but you figure it will taste pretty decent but I was wrong. The pieces of "chicken" were actually dough balls with minced chicken pieces added in, which is why they looked so weird. The sauce was not good either. The Mei Fun was equally disgusting. My plate consisted of Mei Fun, General Tao's chicken, stir fried mushroom an egg roll and a crab rangoon. I took one bite of each item and the only thing worth eating was the crab rangoon; it was actually good. The entire buffet selection just looked "weird". Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. read more

I'd give this place 3.5 stars if I could. The reason because it's that it's a so-so buffet. What saves this place is it's price. It's pretty cheap for how much of a "variety" it provides. The staff is nice and well informed. However, as an asian eating here, the food is okay when it comes to taste. This is not an overall judgement on all their options. I enjoyed half the seafood options, like their clams and shrimp. Their crab was over cooked and their sushi isn't what I'd really consider as sushi. Majority of their options are basically cream cheese and veggies wrapped with rice and seaweed. But then again, locals in this state seem to like it. Their vegetables aren't that bad either. Overall if you aren't a native to asian dishes you might find this great. I'd only come back if I really wanted to eat a lot fo a cheap price even if the food is alright. read more

Fair to good Chinese buffet. If I could give 3 and 1/2 stars, I would. I usually like to start with some sushi for my appetizers. The selection was not too good here. Quasi-California roll maki didn't have any avocado in it (cf. the photo). The predominant rolled sushi had cream cheese with it which I really don't like. There were no fresh fish nigiri like salmon, tuna or shrimp. The spicy roll was very spicy. I liked their gyoza dumplings--it was nicely pan-fried and steamed. Yakitori tasted fine. Liked their vegetable dishes like cabbage and cucumber kimchi and bean sprouts. Sea food salad with squid was another good one. Hot dishes somewhat lacked in variety (compared to some other comparable Chinese buffet), but no one in the right mind would leave a Chinese buffet hungry anyway. In that sense, there were plenty of food to choose and enjoy from. Weekday lunch buffet for $8.29 is still a very good deal. Bon appétit! read more

We stopped in here on our way back from Cincinnati wasn't sure what it was open or not because I hadn't seen any updated reviews so I thought I'd give one do you have to wear a mask to be at the Buffet with disposable gloves that they give you. For those of you who are scared of the Covid transmission this should be a huge hurdle to overcome. It was very clean even the restrooms. There are still a few more Asian style buffet places around here that I haven't been to but of the couple I've been to so far this one is a winner. We did get there shortly after they opened so the food was really fresh. Guess I'll have to try going another time later in the day and see if it's just as fresh. The choices were good. I was a little disappointed in the coconut shrimp only as they were a bit tiny. However, considering that there may soon be a shortage of shrimp I can't complain nonetheless. I wasn't wholly thrilled on the desserts as the eclair was a bit dry and the souffle or egg custard pie (although visually appealing) was VERY eggy tasting. My fav was probably the salt & pepper squid...lots and plump :) The other half wants to take me there again later to try the Mongolian. It's only available after 4pm (I think weekdays). What was also impressive to me was that the area was intimate yet tidy. Although the overall area was clean the one area that this place (and probably 90% of most places) needs is a major cleaning of the air conditioning vents. However, most people aren't going there to look at the ceiling. So if you're going for decent food and good price to go with it... Family Buffet (considered on of the Top 100 in the country) is worth it! read more

I write this review as my wife just finished vomiting up dinner tonight, and I sit on the toilet with stomachs pains trying to exercise a demon from my body. I'd say the food was ok (just ok, believe me...), however it doesn't appear to be sitting well with either of us. I didn't notice a price clearly listed upon entering the restaurant, however it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Food: The rice was squishy and mildly chewy (not fluffy at all) and it was stored in a crockpot on the Buffett table that had the lid tied down with fishing line or a small flexible wire (very odd). Most the food was fine, however my major complaint about it was that the labels were not clear ("Lovers Chicken"!? ‍), and no brief description of the food was given which means that aside from a few easily recognizable dishes, you have no idea what you eating. As someone with a food allergy, this was troublesome for me. However it did have the Chinese names for the dishes written under them, which I'm sure is helpful to some clientele, however for me this was useless and not enlightening. The dumplings were good though, and freshly fried (small batches tho). Customer Service: Everyone was friendly and very polite, so no worries there. Cleanliness: This is clearly an older building and could use some love. I don't think the place was dirty, just worn down. All in all, I'd say this isn't a terrible place, just not great. I have been going here for 4 years and I'm going to give my honest opinion it's a good place to eat the food selection is good and the staff is very friendly but sometimes the food can be bland or cold i recommend getting there when it opens or when they usually change the food which is around 2:00 pm because if you do the food is always full of flavor and is warm the staff are always friendly and kind to highly recommend this place I always recommend getting the hot tea with your food because it adds more flavor to the food when you eat it read more

The food has an excellent taste when you can get it warm. I suggest going during peak hours so that the food gets changed out regularly. The crab legs at dinner time are definitely not worth the extra $15. Not very happy after eating here. The place needs a serious renovation. As we were seated, the hostess walked by the buffet and sneezed without covering her mouth. The food was old, cold and just tasted nasty. On Friday night they have crab legs on the buffet which I don't like but you have to pay more for. Why am I paying more on Friday when I eat the same thing I would on a Monday? And definitely watch the waitress if she takes your drink for a refill. One time the waitress took my drink and the guys drink at the next table over. I watched her all the way to the refill station and when she brought them back she gave me his and vice versa. Throughout my love of Chinese cuisine, I have frequented Chinese buffets and restaurants alike. Very few have the wide selection of items with appealing flavor and options. My family and I frequent this location at least once every other week and have nothing but good to say. The selection of cooked items is plentiful and they are outstanding with keeping the trays full of freshly cooked food. I thoroughly enjoy the Mongolian grill that offers a very good variety of items that you select yourself and are cooked promptly. This is our number 1 choice in the surrounding area for a delicious buffet. Although it is a 30 minute drive for us, it is definitely worth it! read more

Works for me. Place was neat and clean; staff friendly, quick to smile, quick to clear dishes and refill drinks. The food was pretty good. I wondered what a big slab of roast beef was doing there, but it was very good. The better stuff was the onion chicken, Mongolian beef, seafood delight, grilled chicken, green beans (but a little oyster sauce would have made it even better). Scallops little too little. The sushi and kimchees weren't that good except the radish kimchee which was a little soggy was tasty. The fried rice, soups, spring rolls, and egg rolls were a little bland. The other usual stuff like fried shrimp, fried chicken, other stir fry, were usual stuff, so there was plenty to like. The usual buffet treatment of general tso chicken (this just needs to be made to order). The desserts were okay; I like that they had custard pie (it's been years since I had any)--I like mine with a crust and browned a bit more--but I always had trouble making my own, so appreciate theirs held together nicely. The apple cobbler was good, the blueberry pie not so much (over cooked); the rest okay. Ten bucks well worth it, plus smiling attendants kept me smiling too. read more
