Shoku Next Door is a casual restaurant that serves mostly Japanese and some other Asian foods and drinks. The menu lists starters (e.g., edamame, spring roll, wagyu gyoza, and takoyaki), sushi (i.e., nigiri, sashimi, maki, and signature rolls), ramen, and other hot foods (e.g., hibachi and general tso's). In addition, snacks such as Pocky, wasabi peas, and fortune cookies are for sale. My husband and I ate one dinner here. We used a touchscreen kiosk to order our foods and drinks, and we chose a table on our own. I felt surprised that the interior design included numerous cacti. After several minutes, our number was called to pick up our foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Salmon Atami Roll - 4.5 stars - both sweet and spicy Shoku Chicken - 3 stars - My husband ate half. The sauce was OK. Create Your Own Ramen - 4 stars - I chose miso with vegetables. Kimino Sparkling Drink yuzu - 4.5 stars Itoen Tea jasmine green tea - 4 stars The total price was $55 plus tax and tip. Overall, the foods were decent, but I know many other Japanese restaurants that I like more. I recommend Shoku Next Door if you are already in Cranberry and want a casual meal. read more

The sushi is on par with anything you would find at a giant eagle for double the price.... The ramen was flavorless and the steak and brussel sprouts tasted like it came from a Delta airline kitchen. It's one of those places that expects a gratuity despite the fact that you order on a touchscreen, pick the food up at a counter, clean your table yourself, and they don't even have the decency to provide water... The food is absolutely delicious here. The ambiance is great. And the staff are even better. This is definitely a quality over quantity type of restaurant. The service is great here. We got recommendations on what to eat and we are absolutely happy with the result. I was skeptical of the portion sizes at first, but they proved me wrong. I shared the noodles and Orange Blossom chicken with my 2 year old and husband and still felt like it was more than enough. The sushi & nigiri were so delicious; so soft, flavorful and fresh. The only issue is that you have to buy your own water as they don't offer tap water. They gave my two year old candy which was so sweet and we all felt welcome at the restaurant. Very friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. Really enjoyed the lighting and decor of the small place. Sushi was very good, especially for the price. Located in a Cranberry strip mall, there's plenty of parking. I popped in to place a takeout order. It's a light natural decor casual ambiance. I placed my order at the kiosk so bring your credit card for self-pay. The ordering software did not include an option to receive a text message when your order is ready, nor did it provide an ETA. I ended up waiting around for my name to be called for 30 minutes. Most of the first come first serve tables had other customers dining in so there isn't any where to wait out of the way for your order. It was worth the wait! I very much enjoyed their signature rolls, the Valentine Roll ($15) and Salmon Atami ($15). Next time, I'll order ahead online. Now my go-to for sushi when in Cranberry. read more

The quality of the sushi was decent- not amazing, but certainly not disappointing. I'd put it on par with Atarashi sushi in Pittsburgh. What's appealing are the box prices, giving you a deal that other sit down and order at the counter restaurants in the area don't (about $1 per roll). If you're looking for somewhere convenient and fun, this is a perfect spot There were a lot of cool drink and snack options that I haven't seen in other sushi places nearby which I loved. The seating and interior were adorable and clean. The food also came out relatively quickly and the menu has plenty of options, so I definitely want to try their other rolls/ramens next time I go. Went for the 1st time on Friday and OMG I have been thinking about it all weekend! My daughter and I love sushi and anytime places are brand new I try to wait a bit before trying it so that the kinks are worked out but I happened to be in the area heading to Marshall's nextdoor. Let's talk about the menu, not huge but that's a plus! Id love to see a deep fried sushi option!! I ordered online. The only thing I don't like is it forces you to sign up for the rewards program without an opt out. The California roll was 10/10 my 16 year old daughter said, she offered me a piece and she was NOT lying! Best sushi i've had in quite some time! That packaging to hold the sushi is GORGEOUS, sturdy, the chop sticks packaging is lovely! Very unique! Never have I been so impressed?! The Vegetable Rolls were great. That peach sauce did wonders. Pricing was perfect for being in an area like Cranberry. The male who provided me my order was extremely personable! A big smile on his face. We got carry out from this lovely new restaurant today! It is beautiful inside and it made me wish we could have eaten in! Next time, for sure!! The presentation of the food was gorgeous and the taste was exquisite. We had Shoku's Best Box which was filled with deliciousness! Excellent choice!! My husband and I went for lunch this past weekend. This place recently opened, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was so welcoming, and the ambiance was modern and cute. You place your order on a big touch screen, and then one of the workers will bring it to you. The manager was so nice! He stopped by each table and talked to the customers. The popcorn chicken was the best; it was crispy, tender, and aromatic without being overpowering. All the sushi was so fresh, and the cream cheese wontons were crispy, the best I've had in a while. So so so good! The yellowtail nigiri was so thick, melt in the mouth, fresh, delicious. The rock shrimp tempura and siracha mayo sauce was to die for. The sushi boxes are all such a good deal, all maki rolls have a great amount of fish to them, everything was fresh and perfect! 10000/10! We started with the rock shrimp tempura which was pretty good fresh made. We then had the shoku roll which had a pretty good flavor and was a shrimp tempura with spicy Lobster and crab on the outside with the mango sauce I could have done without. We then wanted to try their General shows and it was cooked fresh and the sauce tasted good but the sauce was just a little too thick. We then had the build your own Ramen and we had the tonkatsu which I had them add extra spice to it and was pretty good with shrimp. This is great. Their fish was fresh. Nice take out bag and container. ShoKu next door is prefer for business lunch and causal dining.
