Ginza is hands down my favorite spot in the city for a bento box lunch! I honestly have not found anywhere else that does it as well as they do. My go-to order is always the chicken katsu bento, and it is the perfect, filling lunch every time. It comes with a California roll, rice, and a few shumai dumplings, and you can choose either a side salad or miso soup. I love that it feels like a full, well-rounded meal without having to think too hard about what to order. I've dined in once before and had a great experience, but most of the time I call ahead for pickup or order through Uber Eats. Either way, the quality is consistently excellent. I got takeout from this place late at night for my friend visiting from out of town and I. Boy, was I nervous since I'd never been here and it was completely empty (around 9pm on a Friday). It turned out to be a great choice for sushi. The selection was wide, with choices like sweet shrimp nigiri which I think is rare in Pittsburgh. The rolls were chunky and full of fish. Christmas Eve CLUTCH! We ordered from 4 places and they all cancelled our orders from Grubhub. Disappointing. Oh well, we ordered our weight in sushi and went to pick it up. Ginza is hands down one of the best values for sushi in Pittsburgh. While prices seem high, portions are generous and the fish is a decent quality compared to many other sushi restaurants around town where you will pay much more for less. The sushi here is pretty fresh! I like that they have a lunch special where you can get 2 rolls for $12 or 3 for $18 and you get a piping hot miso soup (or salad) that comes with it. It's a decent deal for the sushi prices in this town. For takeout, they are ready really quickly and it takes longer for me to drive there than for them to make it. First off - this is really good, fresh sushi. I had a 'spicy girl' roll with really smooth, perfectly spiced salmon with a bit of 'crunch' - really good. Huge portion - the roll has 10 pieces! tl;dr: decent sushi place for PGH. Will be our new go-to sushi takeout from here going forward bc inside vibes are quiet but service and food good overall nonetheless -- Wanted to try out a new-to-us sushi place and found this place by word of mouth. We came on a Saturday night and were seated right away. Pretty empty inside with only a few groups of folks dining in. Seems they mostly do take out. We ordered the Maki For Two combo dinner, shumai, and tempura appetizer. Really thankful to our waiter who suggested the combo dinner to save us money since we were already ordering all of that separately! It was so much food haha but it was really good! Probably some of the better sushi I've had in the city. Only thing I think could have improved in my opinion is the freshness of the wasabi and the ripeness avocados used in the sushi. I noticed that my avos were more on the green/brown side which was slightly off putting but didn't detract from the taste. My fiancé and I warmed up with the clear broth and miso soup with the start of fall -- good option to not fill ip too quickly! A great spot in Bloomfield. The staff was friendly. Sushi is the main feature here but they do have plenty of rice and noodle dishes if sushi is not your thing. It is a BYOB so plan accordingly. I started with the spicy California roll which was great. I'm not a very adventurous sushi person (see prior sentence regarding the California roll) so I went with the chicken noodles which were very good and a decent portion big enough to take home some leftovers. Prices are reasonable. They do need to fix the lock on the men's room, they have an individual bathroom with no lock which I'd imagine makes for some awkward moments. In any event, I'd still recommend checking this place out. read more

We stopped here for the lunch special on a Tuesday. They have a really flexible sushi roll lunch special - you can choose 2 or 3 rolls from an extensive list and it comes with either miso soup or a salad. The miso soup was particularly good and both of my daughters, who are often hit-or-miss about miso, really liked it. The sushi was great - fresh and meaty. My husband got some fancier rolls and we were impressed by the flavor combinations. We will definitely be back to try more rolls, hopefully soon! read more

Take-Review: I absolutely love this place. The actual restaurant is not that exciting inside, so I usually order take-out on my way home. This has officially become the take-out of choice when my parents are visiting from out of town as well. We always order 6-8 rolls and it comes so perfectly presented even for it being packed to bring home. I absolutely love the Red Tiger roll, you get spicy salmon and shrimp tempura all in one roll. It's like getting two rolls in one which makes the price completely reasonable and worth it. Every specialty roll we've tried is great and they also do a great job with the traditional rolls if you are looking to keep it simple.
