When it's cold out, it's dumpling time. Ok even if it was hot out I'd be up for dumplings. Jimmy Wans doesn't disappoint on that front. Nice variety. We had the soup dumplings, jimmy wan dumplings, and the pork and chive. Pork and chive was a table favorite. But I was happy with any of them. We also shared the chicken stirfry and the Mongolian beef. Wow that beef was tender. Could have downed the whole plate if no one was watching. Staff were attentive and pleasant to talk to. Really like this place. Good food and a solid bar program. They have Chinese and sushi mainly. Had a little of both each time in for dinner. Came in 2x over 3 days and had different meals each time Went heavy sushi the first time and got General Tso the second time Both meals were really good. Had some margaritas and old fashions. Jimmy Wan's is a local pan-Asian restaurant that serves soups, salads, sushi rolls and sashimi, entrees (e.g., chicken, beef, pork, lamb, shrimp, scallops, and vegetables), noodles, fried rices, and more. Please see my attached photos for the menu in January 2025. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The employees promptly and politely seated us, took our order, brought our drinks and foods, and processed our payment. I ate a chicken slider, jalapeno butterfish crudo, and triple-green vegetables that tasted very good and that I reviewed separately under an Elite Experience review. This review will focus on my husband's foods, which included an "egg roll," "wonton soup," and "chicken with broccoli." The egg roll contained a nice ratio of cabbage, shrimp, and pork. The wonton soup contained flavorful pork and scallions. The chicken was juicy, and the broccoli tasted slightly sweet with the brown sauce. White rice was steamed perfectly. Alcohol was available, but my husband drank a soda. My husband said that his meal was "good." He, however, said that one lunch should not cost $25 plus tip. He suggested changing the price for one egg roll from $6 to something lower. read more

We were visiting our old stomping grounds and went to eat at Jimmy Wans--where we had our first date 15 years ago--and it did not disappoint!!! Even for lunch it still had the same nice ambience and friendly service. We started off with the calamari and pork and shrimp shumai. Entrees were the dinosaur sushi roll and the garlic eggplant with added beef and shrimp. Although service seemed to be a bit slow, it was worth the wait. I was so excited to come to Jimmy Wan's recently! I've heard great things about Jimmy Wan's and been dying to try it for some time now, so it was a dream come true. We made a reservation in advance since we came on a Friday and I'm glad we did. It was very busy even at 5:15pm when we showed up. We were promptly seated by the hostess and provided waters. Overall the food was excellent! We loved everything we tried and felt that the portions for the entrees were generous. We ended up with leftovers of both the crispy chicken and the pepper steak which I'm not complaining about! They were just as good day two! The reason for the 4-star instead of 5-star review was that our server had to be called over to order, for water refills, and the check. We were never checked on, and when she did come at our beckoning, she seemed visibly put off. We still tipped, and hopefully it was just a bad day, but we didn't feel welcome or attended to. We have been going to the happy hour for several years. Drinks not cheap but many appetizers between $5-10. Have always enjoyed them but not today. Egg rolls were great but dumplings had a high dough to meat ratio. Scallion pancakes were chewy, wings with almost no meat. The most disappointing was the cold sesame noodles. I stay at the hotel adjacent Jimmy Wan's several times each year when I travel to the area for business. My routine is pretty standard and simple. I always sit at the bar and always order a beer, ice water and the Singapore Noodles. The bartenders have been working there for a few years because I recognize them from previous visits. The woman behind the bar who greeted me when I walked in seemed very impatient with me that I didn't order everything the very second I sat down... before I took off my jacket... before she collected the check folio from the previous customer... before she even wiped the countertop in front of me (which never happened). I managed to get the beer order in, but she proceeded to ghost me for about ten or 15 minutes. She was preoccupied with cleaning glassware at the other end of the bar. I flagged down another bartender to enter my order and the rest of the meal was very smooth. If it wasn't for the Singapore Noodles, I'd give this restaurant one star and would likely never return. That noodle dish is excellent... so generous with flavor, proteins and veggies. It's a massive portion and I highly recommend it. read more

I recently came here again and wanted to update my review to include that their shishito peppers and fried chive wontons are quite tasty and worth ordering! Our party of four celebrated the birthday of one of our members by dining here for lunch. We were very pleased with our decision to eat here. After getting our drinks, we ordered an appetizer of calamari rings. They were battered lightly and fried. They were served with a special sauce that was delicious. The birthday boy had a ginger salad which he enjoyed and a plate of sushi. My wife also had the ginger salad and she ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which she loved. Our daughter had a ginger salad and the veggie plate. I opted for wonton soup (which had lots of extra pieces of diced pork in the broth (hmmm good), and for an entree, I chose General Tso's Shrimp, which was wonderful. We have been to Jimmy Wan's before and it is always great. We went Dec 31 and were seat a little early which was a duty given the day. It was clearly busy with take out and reservations. We were seated in the "garden" room which is outside and it was fine,until the covering started to leak. While beyond staff control the manager offered to move us. We had appetizer and drinks already so it would have been a little rough to move. We stayed in the back and enjoyed the food and the manager reduced our bill by 25.00 which was a good gesture. This was part of a strip mall that was very spacious and decorative inside. It was more extravagant than I thought upon entering. There was a decent sized bar along with a sushi bar where people could sit. The menu had lots of appealing and tempting options to choose from with lots of fusion choices too. The service was quick and efficient. I tried 5 different dishes and my thoughts on each are below. Barbecue Pork Bun ($8) - There were 3 large buns that contained honey BBQ pork. The bread was very soft, and the pork was not as flavorful as I thought. Cold Sesame Noodle ($8) - This contained cucumber, bean sprout, and scallions with a sesame-peanut dressing with egg noodles. The noodles were not cooked appropriately as they were gummy. The dressing was tasty, but it was disappointing to see poorly cooked noodles. Jimmy Wan's Dumpling ($11) - There were 4 dumplings with ground pork, napa cabbage, and scallions. This was my favorite dish of the day. The dumpling was stuffed with a good amount of pork. The pork was appetizing with hints of the scallion present. It was very good. Emerald Sushi Roll ($20) - This contained salmon, jalapeno, avocado, cucumber and topped with more salmon, avocado, and a mango-cilantro sauce. This was nicely put together. The mango-cilantro sauce was the key here as it went together nicely with the spice from the jalapeno. The salmon was alright, but the sauce and jalapeno made up for it. Scallion Pancake Wrapped Filet ($12) - This was a special on the day I attended. It was braised filet mignon, scallion, cucumber, cilantro, and soy wrapped in a scallion pancake. This was not great. The filet was cooked too long and was not seasoned at all. There was too much cilantro present, and the scallion pancake could have been cooked a tad longer for a crispier edge. Will I go back? We came here as a large group for lunch. I love that they have lunch specials on Sunday. Most Chinese places seem to only do it during the week. I ordered the Mongolian beef. The meat was really tender and the onions were nice and caramelized. It was pretty salty, but I like that. The egg rolls are really large. They were good but not my favorite. They had really big chunks of veggies inside and they have the thicker outside. My husband got the General Tsos chicken. It comes with lots of sauce. It was hot and crispy and the flavors were good. Some of my friends have been going to Jimmy Wan's in Cranberry for many, many years and it was finally my time to pay a visit! The restaurant is spacious and the staff is friendly. There's also a ton of parking (hello, suburbs!). The restaurant seats many people throughout a few rooms, and their menu spans multiple pages featuring sushi from the sushi bar, hot entrees, sharable entrees and a full bar. I got a few appetizers for my guest and I, plus a hot entree, sushi and some sashimi, along with wine. Jimmy Wan's is a great place for a date night or even a place to take the entire family. Really snazzy looking place on the inside, but the food is somewhat lackluster and quite expensive. We got the egg roll, crab rangoons, beef szechuan, and scallion lamb. First of all, 6$ per egg roll? Yikes, and it only tasted passable. The crab rangoons were another disappointment, in two of them they actually had no filling at all. There was also this very odd sauce that was on the side that tasted like warm horseradish that was definitely a pass. The mains were a bit better though the beef szechuan was lacking a lot of flavor. I will say the lamb scallion was the only dish that actually did taste like real chinese food; it had good flavor and a decent amount of spice. I think we're officially done with Jimmy Wans. The food is so beyond average that I would have been sad if this is how my order tasted from a cheap takeout place. The amount of money and "second chances" I've given this restaurant, make me frustrated. You can taste batter on Mongolian beef and generally tsos, both of which you will pay nearly $60 for low quality beef and up charges for better chicken. Fried rice wasn't even pleasing to my children. Bland, sad, and I'm just done with paying these insane prices for food that is unforgivably bad. I'm just so happy we're getting a few new Asian options up this way. read more
