Good lunch buffet for only $10. Hamburger steak with gravy, baked wings, mac and cheese and fresh melon were excellent. Macaroni salad, greenbean salad and potato salad were also good. Only bad thing was the fried chicken. Way overcooked and dry. Servers and workers were all very nice. read more

If you are hungry, and you don't want to be hungry then you can accomplish that task at this Shoney's. When you walk in, everyone says "Hi, Welcome to Shoneys." The buffet had nothing great on it. It also had nothing terrible, although there were some things I avoided, I can't even remember what those were now a day later. The quality of the food was not really good or really bad. The service was given with a smile to seat us and then to drop off the bill and take our money, but nothing stood out about the experience at all. Th restrooms were clean but not perfect. The tables and ambiance were nothing really worth mentioning. I asked my wife after the meal if she thought anything stood out about the place, and she said, "well, I'm not hungry anymore." We called on Friday ordered 2 pies and another one Saturday morning. 3 in all. we are from out of town and was going to pick up the pies at 7:00 p.m on Saturday. Me and my family were traveling and decided to get some breakfast. We decided to stop here, we looked up the hours online and it said 7:00am they would be open but on their door it says 7:30am so we decided to wait till 7:30am which we have been their since 7:00am. Waited till then and we tried going in but then their comes a lady to tell us they do not open till 8:00am! They waisted our time just because they can not update their hours online nor the door where they are at the restaurant daily as well as their sign out in front. Was traveling down interstate with my wife and saw sign for Shoney's Restaurant. I hadn't eaten at a Shoney's in years and had always enjoyed them. This one reminded me of those days. Everyone was pleasant and polite. They had the buffet going which looked very good but I wanted to order off the menu. My wife ordered the All American burger and said it was great. I had my old favorite, country fried steak, onion rings and green beans. All were excellent. I will make this a stop when I travel this way again. read more

The worst Shoney's I've ever been to. Called before we arrived, and was told that the breakfast buffet was out until 1pm. We arrived at like 12:10, and they were completely out of breakfast selections, and said they wouldn't be replacing them because it was "time to pull it". They slowly put out lunch items, but the same few pitiful pieces of dried up fried chicken stayed out there the entire time, and at no point during our meal was there ever bread on the buffet. Ugh... I really regret my decision to eat here. I would use my servers name, but she never gave it to me. I was greeted like this, "I can get y'all a tea or coke or somethin.." okay cool, nice to meet you too she who is nameless. The buffet was pathetic, so I ordered a burger. It was ok. But while ordering I asked my waitress if it was cooked to order, she said yes so I asked for my burger to have some pink. "No problem." She said. "I'll let the cook know." ..... no pink in my burger and when she gave the ticket, beneath burger there was a note that stated, "no pink." Ok well that explains why there was no pink. After she dropped off the food she waited a full 30 minutes before checking on me again. By this time I was well beyond finished. I wanted dessert but she gave me the ticket with my food. Like she didn't even ask. So I asked for dessert where she proceeds to tell me, "you should know that this dessert takes 20 minutes to cook." ... well ok honey thanks for taking your precious time getting back to me I could have already had the order put in... There's more than that but this rant has gone far enough I believe. Last time I eat there. Thankfully I was just passing through. Wish I would have chosen something different though. Sign at street says breakfast served at 7 am. When you arrive at 7:30 am the door is locked. The sign on the door says open at 8 am. Need to change the sign everyone sees when entering the parking lot. I guess they serve their staff at 7 am and the paying customer has to wait until 8 am. read more

Shoney's is the South's Hometown Buffet. Nasty looking buffet food hosed down in cheese and grease. The greenery in the buffet wasn't much to look. I hit up the chicken strips and fries because it is simple and you can't mess it up. Our server oozed Southern hospitality and made our meal rewarding. I visited this Shoney's today and it was disgusting. Service was ok. Pudding was bitter.

AC was out, no mention to us as we arrived. Approximately 112 degrees inside. Ranch dressing was a shade of grey that I have never seen before. Two buffets one soda, $27. When asked if everything was fine, I did not answer and the lady just hung her head. I got food poisoning at a Shoney's in SC once and I would eat at that one before ever stepping foot back into this one. read more

Stopped by here with a group of ladies on our way to Birmingham, AL. All the Shoneys on the Gulf Coast had shut down and after eating here I can somewhat understand why. The service was OK. They really weren't that busy but we had to talk to at least 3 different servers in order to get small items for our table: honey mustard for tenders and drink refills. The food wasn't really on my top 10. I got something that looked better than the buffet offerings, at least I thought so, and it really wasn't. I don't think the wait staff receive training. The hostess showed us to a booth but did not give us a menu. A waitress came by and ask if everything was ok. I thought she was joking. We still didn't have a menu. When we ordered, my wife ordered eggs, ham and biscuit. No ham and no biscuit. OK then bacon and roll. No roll, only toast. Ok. I wanted to try the chicken pot pie. They didn't have any more. Ok, I'll just do the soup and salad bar. When I went to the salad bar there was no lettuce. I went back to my table and after a period of time I returned to the salad bar and still no lettuce. Is no one in charge of maintaining the salad bar? read more

Was not expecting to enjoy my lunch as much as I did! Greeted by a smile and sat in the exact spot that we wanted. We're given suggestions off the regular menu but I ordered the buffet. First, the horrible smell when you walk in should have given us our first clue to leave. But, let's give it the benefit of the doubt. The first lie they told was it was not available, then they would give it to him half price. He decided he would not make a scene, As they were leaving, they took the notice off the door. Where should I start? First of all, we all ordered( me, my husband, my cousin and her husband).. A few minutes after ordering our waiter comes back to tell us that what me and my husband ordered was not available after all and so we ordered something else. The only good that came from that is she let my husband get a salad from the salad bar. 2nd-- The lady putting out food at the buffet was really really rude. She really needs to reconsider the way she acts because it's uncomfortable eating somewhere, where the employees are rude. 3rd-- The food was awful. The only thing I enjoyed was my salad. My bite size shrimp was nasty it tasted as though the batter wasn't cooked enough. I wasted my entire basket full besides a few pieces. What was supposed to be coleslaw looked and tasted nothing like it. And I went for some really yummy looking jello desert and it almost made me sick. So the food-- horrible. And 4-- the waiter kept flirting with our husbands which was really disrespectful and I did not appreciate it at all. Matter of fact if the waiter swept the spot she was sweeping one more time, she would have put a hole in the floor with a broom! Just saying. Will never eat there again.
