My SGC membership was about to expire and I live half a mile from Shooter's World, decided to check out a possibly convenient local range. Not going to be going there for 2 reasons. 1. They have a rule that an AK pistol requires a brace to be shot. I explained to the employee that the ATF's rules changed and that's now illegal. She said that Shooter's World's rules have not changed and that's still the policy. Well sorry, but I don't want to spend 10 years in prison just to be able to shoot here. 2. In order to rent a firearm you must have a partner here. Is this an elementary school bathroom? I go shooting about 3 times per month and half the time I'm alone. I also like renting cool new firearms, if I like them, I can then go buy one. Seems like you literally just don't want my business here. I tried, best of luck. read more

I have been to this location as well at the one in Phoenix and always find that the location in Phoenix is just better for me. The last time I came here I was giving my son and his girlfriend (both 20) lessons on how to shoot. It was their first time. I brought one semi automatic hand gun, one revolver and one rifle which was a 22lr so I was able to shoot in the handgun lane. My rifle was still new since I only shot it one other time and is still in what I would consider the break-in period and it keeps jamming. The guy in the back came to me and told me that he needed to check my rifle because I made someone nervous. He came back several times over the rest of the hour that I spent there and I finally asked him if I did something wrong. People were looking at us through the window like we were firing a bazooka. We follow the rules, wear our protection, always point our firearms down the range yet he still kept coming by. He told me that I was shooting with crap ammo and this is why it was jamming. I tried four different manufacturers of ammo and it still jammed, but that's besides the point. The hour couldn't go by fast enough because of how uncomfortable we felt. I will not be returning to the Peoria location, and will have qualms about returning to Phoenix as well. read more

Please improve on your customer service. I selected this specific location as an FFL due to locality, however the lack of service is astonishing and I am taking my businesses somewhere else. No one in their right mind would want to wait in a line that does not exist, nor seek and ask assistance from an employee just to be treated like an inconvenience because I disturbed their conversations among one another. read more

I let my membership expire because I called and asked if they have 12 gauge buckshot. The guy I spoke with told me that I could buy a box but would have to shoot it on the range. Asked if I bought a hat if I could only wear it on their range? Also told him that I did not see myself being attacked on the range, but the possibility of a home invasion exists. Still nope. Not a fan at all anymore. PRICE GOUGING. No more free hearing or eye protection as a result of Covid but you can pay full retail (nearly double to Amazon) to buy the hearing and eye protection they have plenty of! Is sanitization that hard? Plus we all know ammo is expensive but I am sure SW is still getting a fair price on the bulk they purchase however hammering customers on price. 43$ for a box of 9mm target ammo is a crime. Got to get back to Ben Avery or hope it rains soon so we can feel safe shooting outdoors again. My favorite and #1 shooting range and gun store! Although a little farther from me than the Phoenix location, there's not a single visit I don't enjoy here! Whether it's shooting at their huge indoor range, browsing through their extensive collection of firearms, picking up some accessories, or just chatting with the staff, it's always a fun and pleasurable visit! Also, their selection of rental firearms are a lot more varied compared to Phoenix's. I just love shooting the FN 509 tactical here! You will not be disappointed here folks! read more

I have never had to wait for a range, which would be a big problem. The place is very clean and the team of employees are very helpful.

Range is like a sauna. Half the target rails don't operate properly. Constantly a different staff. Have frequented the cactus location for years and have never seen the same employee more then once. The lighting is terrible. Will never return to this location. read more

My experience today was not so great due to to lack of customer service with a lady about time. Meeting consumer needs today was not met from there service. We had 2 cease fires for malfunction on some lanes. So we were told to cease fire. Eating into my time PAID$$ they claimed to give me 15 mins added but this lady from the range stops me early. Although mathematically she is wrong and I showed her proof she wins I leave end of story. Once I told her I will be leaving a bad review she walks away from me and in our conversation she wants to mock me with my words. She such a keeper arguing with customers when you are wrong. NEVER AGIAN WILL I RETURN HERE. Rifle section is no longer their pistol range...30 yards? Ridiculous for dialing in a long (or PSS) gun of any reasonable caliber or type. Prices are ridiculous as well. Not to mention the "important" benefits of signing up for a year or whatever. I went down in person not long ago and finding out how they were now running the show I couldn't believe it. First time going to an indoor range and the staff was helpful and easy to talk to. Sunday morning was pretty laid back and not over run with people. Went to look at becoming a member and from the moment my wife and I walked in we felt as if the staff were unprepared to deal with any mature conversations. The girl behind the counter didn't speak clearly spoke in circles and seemed as if they just shouldn't be working at a place that dealt with firearms. Rude and aggressive. Went in to use the range with my son (10) sister (29) and two nephews (both 13). Before we even got to the range counter one of the lady's at the counter asked if the children were ours. They continued stating if we weren't the parents we couldn't take them because we wouldn't be able to ride in the ambulance... I asked how I prove my son is mine and the lady couldn't answer. A gentle came from around the corner and stood between us telling her not to respond.. they were all really rude and aggressive to people who wanted to spend their money there. They never answered my question and just starred at us until we left. I will never be back and will tell everyone I know not to come here. The business owners reply is a flat out lie! I came in with my son and nephews no other story was ever told. It's starting to look racial as one of my nephews is black. read more

So I begin shooting a lot more and buying more guns around the pandemic time just because it felt like the world was going to end lol. I pretty much became friends with the staff and unfortunately many of them have moved on there is a couple of people that have been there a long time and they're great people however I'm not happy with the constant price gouging of Firearms and ammo. In the middle of the pandemic I was paying $60 or so for a box of 45 ACP and the reason I would pay it is because most other people would be out constantly and at least they kept a good supply but here we are I think most of us would agree we're pretty much out of the pandemic and tired of the crap and the price gouging. I went down to shoot as I had an appointment so I drove down from surprise about a 25 minute ride so not too bad but when I get there I realize I forgot to stop at a normal priced ammunition store which has the ammunition I'm looking for 45 ACP for only $37. I figured they were probably a decent price now at shooters World so as I went back to the range realizing I had forgot to stop for ammunition and asked how much it was they told me $55 a box. Yes I'm a member and yes that makes the ammunition $50 per box but it's the point I'm just not paying that so I left and I immediately called to cancel membership I'm just not having it anymore with all this price gouging going on all over the world and people taking advantage. You can go to guns pleasant surprise or legendary guns down in Phoenix or somewhere like that and get 45 ACP for 35 or $37 a box let's just knock this off already and I'm not supporting businesses that do that to people anymore. It is worth noting that their firearms are typically $100 more than most places in town as well and if you were a member you do get 5% off but it's still not enough. It's also worth noting that I was spending so much time there I paid the extra money and I have bought probably somewhere between seven and 10 guns from them over the last year or so but I just won't do it anymore. 04/10/22 I am from Tucson,Az. and was in town with my 16yr old brother visiting family and planned on going to a shooting range for the day. My mistake was choosing Shooters World as the place to go. When we got there i was told that we had to print the waiver for my younger brother else where.. having already submitted a waiver online. I thought it was weird, but I drove to the closest Office Depot (15 mins away) and printed what is shown as the Range Waiver on their website. Filled out the packet, turned it in, was not accepted. Apparently, the waiver I was supposed to print was hidden under 'info,pricing,&rules' and was not told about. I was only told to print out the Range Waiver from their website. They completely ruined our plans and wasted our time. If they require a separate waiver for minors why not provide it? I have never been through so much trouble at a shooting range before! It's almost like they didn't want us there. Customer service is bad. Is it worth the hype? Nope. Will I be coming back? Nope. But shout out to the dude who actually seemed concerned about the whole situation and at least apologized for his co-worker's incompetence. The only person to say "I'm sorry" on my way out made me realize there is actually someone there who knows what they're doing but I was unlucky to not get attended by him. read more

There are gun rentals available and you can bring your own. The store part...meh... The prices on everything seemed very high, so I checked a few of them with other places. They were 25-35% higher here. Yikes. There's a good selection of certain things like mags, but very little ammo. Lots of types of targets, but again, at a premium price. read more

I purchased my first firearm here and wow was customer service amazing. As someone coming in without a clue, they were kind, patient and very informative! Helped me find the right fit. Gave me a discount on ammo since I bought a gun, 2 free range passes and a t-shirt. I booked a CCW course which was phenomenal and very helpful. I also did a private lesson today and was given great tips, shown how to load my gun, disassemble to clean, proper shooting technique and assisted in helping me find all my inquired upon "extras" like a holster, ear and eye protection, carrying case, etc. I'm happy with this place from every encounter! I also love that Friday is ladies day and we shoot for free! I love it and they've all made me feel comfortable as a newbie so much so that I can go in and shoot and feel at ease. The facilities ore good and they have a good selection of guns, ammunition, etc. That's the good part. Four years ago I purchased an annual membership. Before purchasing I was told that because I'm a snowbird I could put my membership on hold when I leave the valley each year, and if I only use 3 months per year my membership would last 4 years. When I had 7 months left on my membership they offered 2 extra months with a 12 month renewal, so I bought another year. I placed it on hold with no problem for 4 years including last April. When I returned in November of 2021 they acknowledged that my membership was on hold but informed me that I could only place it on hold once and told me the hold in April doesn't count. The bottom line is I should have had 12 months left on my membership, but they REFUSED to give me a contact number for the owner and he refused to call me. This is a shoddy fly-by-night business and they can't be trusted! read more

I normally enjoy this location but this last time my girlfriend and I walked in and wanted separate lanes, normally we share one, but this time I had brought my new red dot sight and wanted to zero it in and take my time. wanted to get her own lane so I didn't hog up all the time. they charge the same price for two people for one lane or one per lane. I wouldn't have minded waiting but was flat out told sorry we can't do that. we both had our own gear so even if the lanes were split up, not next to each other, we would have been fine with it. the lady didn't say we may have to wait a bit, it was just a flat no, but if we had walked in separately we would have been no problem. I don't see any problem putting us separately when we frequent there quite often. we ended up leaving because they absolutely refused to let us have our own lane!!! not very good customer service in my opinion read more

Not only did he provide an array of lighting options for my rifle, but he took the time to mount the new light kit and assist in several peripheral purchases as well. Went here on a Friday for Ladies Night which includes free gun rental and lane for the first hour. We were greeted at the door and we Were lead to the sign in counter. When it was our turn the gentleman behind the counter was incredibly nice and helpful. He helped us choose which gun to shoot and the reasons why. Then went through everything we needed to know in order to handle the gun.
