As I walk around the corner, a gentleman pushing a broom welcomed me and asked if he could help. I think he must have been a manager because he was advising the young man behind the customer service counter on his schedule. Another young man went and grabbed my order, and I was out the door fast. I'm certainly no regular here, but I've been very happy with this store.

I visited on the evening of 03/17/2026 with my wife. The store was fairly quiet at the time. In the footwear department, the associate was also very helpful and quickly assisted me with getting the correct boot size and box. Unfortunately, our experience changed at checkout. The cashier, an older woman, had a noticeably different attitude. I won't go into every detail, but her tone came across as sarcastic and unwelcoming. Despite being polite and respectful throughout the interaction, it felt like she wanted to rush us out. My wife and I both left feeling uncomfortable, and we couldn't help but feel that the treatment may have been influenced by our ethnicity. That's not something I take lightly, but the difference in behavior was hard to ignore. I'm sharing this feedback for management because the front-end experience matters just as much as the rest of the store. I hope more attention is given to how customers are treated at checkout so others don't leave feeling the same way we did.

The shooting range upstairs isn't available. (Token machine "out of order" so no way to buy tokens…read moreto shoot). Food court has disappeared. Small general store feels like it has the heater on. And the smell of candied nuts is no more. Even the upstairs escalator blocked off. You can still take the elevator up, though. The home decor section that used to be on the west wing of the upstairs is closed off and no longer accessible to the public. Bass Pro ruined this Cabela's location. Two stars for the friendly staff who rang us up, directed us towards the bathroom, and offered to help in the camping section. Other than that, this place is not the happy place it used to be. Even the fish in the tank seem sadder.

The prices are really competitive and were actually less than the big discount sporting goods stores. In addition, there was a technical modification required that they did very quickly at a nominal fee. I've probably bought four Gun since then from Dk defense all four were priced lower than the big supplier in Tennessee. They had to order Gun. I still got it quicker than I would've if I submitted an online order and I know a lot of people go go online for what they perceived to be a cheaper price for guns only to discover they could've gotten the gun 2 to 5% cheap cheaper at at Dk Defense and save by not having pay the FFL transfer fee. Krista and Dan are great to deal, very friendly very knowledgeable. Calling on DK is like visiting friends. I consider DK my one stop gun shop in the valley.

The owner spent 20 minutes explaining my options and talking to me about the gun. He earned a customer for life. I have since bought several "items" all for MUCH less than anywhere else. I have brought my dogs, even my Dane and have always had a great experience and gotten the best prices. The store's app with up to date ammo availability and pricing is just another bonus.
